It’s the final 10 days of the Dumbing of Age Book 6 Kickstarter! Roughly $2k to go until we unlock Joe and Jacob character magnets! Until then, there’s Becky (who comes free with a physical book pledge), Dina, Jocelyne, Carla, Head Alien, Monkey Master, Leslie, Robin, and Galasso! Book 6 is 228 pages, including 24 Patreon bonus strips, and 9 pages of bonus material, including 13 unused/unfinished/abandoned strips! It is the biggest Dumbing of Age book of all time! OF ALL TIME.
Over at the Dumbing of Age Book 6 Kickstarter, there is a new GALASSO MAGNET tier! At 3″x5″, this is the biggest magnet I’ve ever produced! (Galasso is a big guy.) He will put all those other puny magnets in their place!
There’s also a new PICK THREE MAGNETS tier where you can, surprise, pick any three magnets unlocked by this Kickstarter campaign! You’ll be able to tell me which three magnets you want in your address survey, given out some time after the Kickstarter funds. So if you’re pledged for, like, a LESLIE/ROBIN magnet set, but also want Galasso, you can edit your pledge accordingly!
When the Kickstarter hits $45k (which it might have done already by the time this publishes), I will publish a sneak preview of a strip from JUNE for y’all. It won’t be, like, a spoilery one, but something more self-contained. But you have a choice between three strips, for which there’s a poll on the right hand side of the website under the comic strip. You can choose which future strip you want based on which characters appear in it. When I figure the poll has given me a clear answer, I’ll post the strip over on the Kickstarter and you can choose to go look at it if you want! Again, they’re not spoilery, so no one’s gonna be able to read them, come back over here, and post OMFG JOYCE IS DEAD or whatever.
I remembered that my birthday means it’s also Ultra Car’s birthday. And that this year in particular, Ultra Car is now 30 years old, since I first drew her on April 3, 1987. So for this month’s second Patreon bonus strip, here’s a scene from the Ultra Car crossover episode of Dexter & Monkey Master over at the Dumbing of Age Patreon.

Welcome to the Fuck Zones feature canon-only couplings as a self-imposed rule, but for April Fool’s Day, I thought I’d draw a non-canon coupling. Because if April Fool’s gags are good for anything, they’re for doing something fun and different in a way that “breaks the rules” without pissing you off, hopefully. Long story short, that NSFW graphic over on the left of Dorothy and Joyce IS REAL. I mean, it’s not canon, but it’s, like, a real Slipshine page. You don’t click through it to be tricked. I figure in this AU, it’s still fairly early in the school year, as evidenced by Joyce being in one of her earlier sweatervests. Becky hasn’t visited yet. And I guess both of them are into ladies and they become the bestest friends possible. Best episode of Sliders ever.

We cleared $40k yesterday morning, and so the Dumbing of Age Book 6 Kickstarter has unlocked Dexter and Monkey Master character magnets! They’re based on brand new art I drew yesterday! You can pledge for a book + either of them, or a Book + both of them as a set! And if you pledged for the any of the COMPLETE MAGNET POWER tiers, they’ve been automatically added to your pile.
Next up, at $45k, I’ll unveil a FUTURE COMIC STRIP, from, like, June or something, I dunno. We’ll figure it out together. Last time we did this, I had a website poll where you could choose a future strip based on which characters appeared in it. (None of them would be overly spoilery, of course; they’d be fun, relatively stand-alone strips.) Around $45K I’ll also have another surprise character magnet choice for y’all.
