It really depends on your point of view. She’s being nice to Dorothy. Well, maybe shes being nice to Dorothy, it might be better if she told Dorothy to grow a spine and tell him herself. However, I’ll admit it I have no idea about if Ruth telling Danny for Dorothy is a good thing or a bad thing. I study rocks for a reason…
Ahh, the power of pronouns. Ruth is being nicer, but that still isn’t very nice. Just like Mike is nicer to Amber (sober), even if he is rarely nice to her.
Just goes along with the multiple universe theory where similar events are theoretically occurring in different universes at different times.
Example: In universes A, B, C and D Hitler is born. In A and B Hitler is evil, causes World War 2. Universe A’s history occurs the same as our history. However, in universe B Hitler wins defeats Britain and the allies and conquers Europe. In universe C and D Hitler is a good guy and fights Britain, France and Europe, however in C Hitler loses while in universe D he wins.
Events that occurred in universe A and C are mirrors of each other because Hitler loses in both.
Events that occurred in universe B and D are mirrors of each other because Hitler wins in both.
Events that occurred in universe A and B are mirrors of each other because Hitler is evil in both.
Events that occurred in universe C and D are mirrors of each other because Hitler is good in both.
This is of course the overly simplified version of the theory.
Yea, yea I have too much time on my hands. You would too if your job consisted of sitting in front of a computer for 15 hours a week occasionally changing paper in the printers and giving people directions…
It felt like Ruth was putting on an act about the femurs and throwing people and such, but the expresion on her face in the first panel of the last comic was a dead give away that something was up. If thats what you meant.
Despite her original punch-ness, yeah, I can agree with this (retroactively, after reading the whole Roomies! archive on itswalky.com). Her soft side was on display more of the time there, but with the occasional spontaneous punch. Here she’s more up-front about the violence, and hides the soft side.
I guess Ruth didn’t expect people to actually ask her for help for anything :p I have a feeling Danny is going to be the buttmonkey of a lot of jokes for a while.
Don’t be fooled! That’s not Ruth turning into our Ruth. That’s Ruth preparing to pounce. Or maybe depressed by Danny’s lack of manliness. He’s falling right off of the scale.
It occurs to me that having Ultra Car in this comic is not out of the question. He’s the one piece of tech that doesn’t necessarily hinge upon Martians.
But Ultra-car was created by Joe, who was altered by the Aliens who were only altering people through some over-complicated plot about taking control of the Martians tech.
I’m willing to bet that he’s still a closet nerd and has the ability to create Ultra-Car if he so wished. (and by “he” I mean Willis acting through Joe)
What time is it now in this universe? That is to say, Joe guessed that he could put Dorothy on “the list” at 7:30 and the meeting was supposed to be at 7:00 but Ruth had to spend time rounding up stranglers…
I am Danny I fear. Danny is I. Although I wouldn’t use Sweetie-smoochums. Possibly would use Pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie is friggin delicious. As is sweet potato pie.
Aww, I feel so bad for Danny right now and nothing has happened yet.
Wait a minute, David… how did you get a Ruth avatar?
I feel bad for him because he just used the word “sweetiesmoochums”.
It’s that ridiculous. I’m not saying that’s the kind of lingo that should get a dude dumped, but he’s making dictionaries cry.
No! Danny!
I knew it was a bad idea that you followed her to college! I KNEW IT!
So… how’s Ruth gonna tell him? Using femurs to write the words? Because that’s could be awesome.
She’s going to tell him by writing it in his own blood, and she’s going to use his sharpened femurs as the writing implements…
It’s nice seeing a somewhat nicer side to Ruth.
Didn’t expect Danny and Dorothy to implode this quickly!
I did.
And how is Ruth being “nicer” when she’s offering to crush somebody’s soul?
She’s offering, rather than crushing his soul unasked. I think that’s nicer.
Not necessarily nice.
I don’t know, rocks can have hella drama too. I always get the feeling that sedimentary rocks are jealous of igneous.
Sedimentary rocks are just posers.
She would have crushed Danny’s soul anyway. What’s nice is that she isn’t also crushing Dorothy’s.
Ahh, the power of pronouns. Ruth is being nicer, but that still isn’t very nice. Just like Mike is nicer to Amber (sober), even if he is rarely nice to her.
Danny… destined to get dumped by his high school sweetheart early in his college career in EVERY continuity. 😛

Onstar?
Also, in every continuity Ruth will express a desire to punch Danny upon first encountering him. See: http://www.itswalky.com/d/19981007.html
She’ll do it.
With her FAAAAAACE
FAAAACE?
And, ladies and gentlemen, we have a meme…one month into the comic. That’s a new record for Willis.
Joe was right, 7:30!
Danny got creeeeeppy!
This is what happens when two former author proxies are in the strip: One gets a makeover. 😛
And that’s how Danny got needy everyone!
Did anyone else think it didn’t really feel like Ruth in DoA untill panel 3 today?
It felt like Ruth was putting on an act about the femurs and throwing people and such, but the expresion on her face in the first panel of the last comic was a dead give away that something was up. If thats what you meant.

FAAAAAAAAACE
Oh wait that was yesterday right?
I guess Ruth didn’t expect people to actually ask her for help for anything :p I have a feeling Danny is going to be the buttmonkey of a lot of jokes for a while.
Will Ruth bust Danny’s faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccceeeeee with femurs?
Don’t be fooled! That’s not Ruth turning into our Ruth. That’s Ruth preparing to pounce. Or maybe depressed by Danny’s lack of manliness. He’s falling right off of the scale.

Let Ruth do it! either way, Danny’s gonna get slugged cuz he’s a pansy here. 😀
RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTH!
Hit him in the FAAAAAAAAACE!
He’s trying too hard. At this point, I’ve no idea if he couldn’t be trying too hard. It is really too late for him not to be trying too hard.
And it’s probably going to end up with him getting hit in the FAAAAAAAAACE!
Or driving towards a semi, though we don’t hope for a repeat of those events.
For the love of god Mr. Willis! Please let Ruth do it.
What time is it now in this universe? That is to say, Joe guessed that he could put Dorothy on “the list” at 7:30 and the meeting was supposed to be at 7:00 but Ruth had to spend time rounding up stranglers…
Stragglers*
If you read clocks, it’s pretty easy to figure it out.
Looks like 7:20, 7:25 in the last strip, which means, yep, breakup’s coming in right on schedule.
Holy crap. I did not notice that. I guess I was to detracted by the FAAAAAAAAACE.
BURN!
-airfox
Lookit that, a clock
If neither Dorothy or Ruth are doing it, can I do it?
I wanna see his FAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEE when either of all do it!
I like Pumpkin Pie!
Sweetie-Smoochums? Wow… that boy needs to hand in his man-card for that one.
When I read Danny’s lines at the end, some how he ends up sounding liek Guybrush from Monkey island…
I am Danny I fear. Danny is I. Although I wouldn’t use Sweetie-smoochums. Possibly would use Pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie is friggin delicious. As is sweet potato pie.
OMG I dont even know the guy and I want Ruth to do it lol.
Danny just has a hateable face, and Ruth has a face you can trust.
….
Ruth, please, do something about this idiot and is ridiculous pet names.
