Volkheimeria, Lapparentosaurus (which has a strangely distorted letter L) and Cedarosaurus are all ones I’ve never heard of, which surprises me. Also, I love the little question mark next to Brontosaurus.
If you wish to see just how big it was, you can see in this picture, posing with a rather dapper gentleman. Because we all know there were plenty of dapper gentlemen around then, showing off their raptor collections…
Please tell me I’m not the only one who definitely remembers that that “cereal killer” line was said by one of the characters in QC some years ago… *hides*
Like Rose Tyler, Martha Jones, Captain Jack Harkness, Donna Noble, Amelia Pond and her husband Rory Pond, Melodie Pond / River Song, Clara Oswald.
Dammit I probably forgot a few there.
Well, you got most of the regular/frequently recurring ones from New Who, though Mickey Smith could arguably be in that list as well. It’s really your own prerogative whether you want to include all the one off companions like Lynda with a y, Astrid Perth, and the kids who Clara was nannying for, or those that appear in only a few episodes like Adam what’s-his-last-name or Madam Vastra, Jenny, Strax, and Harriot Jones (Former Prime Minister). Or the companion who was from the original series but reappeared briefly for one episode, aka Sarah Jane Smith. And then there’s the family members of the companions like Jackie Tyler and Wilfred Mott who frequently recur but would probably not be “official” companions. So really, whether you got them all just depends on where you draw the line 😉
At least a thought about almost all of those ones too even though I didn’t write them down. There were other visitors too like the family he rescued from Pompei and where he got his new face. And there was the whole Orient Express passengers and crew. And probably a few more I can’t think of right now.
Y’know it has to be good, ‘cus I’m pretty sure I remember Willis saying he’s not a fan of drawing thought bubbles, so it’s gotta be spectacular to warrant it.
If you don’t feel bed, it’s probably because you’ve been lying on top of your arms. Roll over and try to flail them around a bit to wake them up again.
The solution, of course, is that every day Willis releases a MST3K version of the strip with Ruthless, Dina, and Joe mocking the comic. Ruthless to berate everyone, Joe to comment on the women, and Dina being Dina.
If there were any children who preferred other documentaries, I’ll be surprised. It’s not exactly a competitive niche in terms of excitement, and Walking with Dinosaurs had, well, Dinosaurs. And other assorted prehistoric organisms.
Well, I always liked Microcosmos as a kid, too. Plus, the Crocodile Hunter series, that Really Wild Animals show from National Geographic, plus a TON of other documentaries, those marketed to kids and those not marketed to kids. Honestly, most of what I watched around that age (8-10 at the time WwD came out) was documentaries.
That said, I DO watch reality TV. I mean, The Amazing Race and MasterChef and other competition shows (not Survivor, The Bachelor shows, or Big Brother; screw those), but, some reality TV. Not the trashy stuff, though. At least, I don’t think it’s trashy.
And before anyone says “You don’t need to wash a hat that often”, I don’t know anything about hat care. I don’t wear hats…ever, really, now that I think about it.
facts:
-dina’s happy morning thoughts are about dead things
-her friends make her smile
-she may be hiding razor sharp teeth and claw prosthetics behind the door
conclusions:
-she plans to make more happy memories
I heard there was some new evidence coming to light that might legitimize it as having actually existed as something other than a hoax…
I didn’t read it for myself because I was too busy frothing with rage.
There were arguments about junior and senior synonyms (the usual Bone Wars type of mess), and a particularly famous mount was built with an incorrect skull (they didn’t have one at the time, and figured the one they picked would be close enough, but later they found the real deal and it was pretty different)
They’re trying to bring it back. I’ve not been paying much attention but something about some fossils originally being named Brontosaurus turned out being different enough from Apatasaurus that Brontosaurus could potentially be valid.
Yes, because the argument has been made to resurrect the taxon, but (AFAIK) there haven’t been any follow up papers for or against, so it isn’t necessarily 100% decided. Though I haven’t heard much dissent so far.
The media has already had their ‘Brontosaurus is real!’ headlines, so, sadly, only people actually reading the papers will actually know how the consensus shakes out. If it’s agreed that Brontosaurus is a valid genus, they’ve already done the story; if it’s decided that, no, it really is just a couple species of Apatasaurus, well, that’s just not sexy.
Inner monologues are my favorite. Also my favorite, though, are stories which begin with the phrase “in which…” I don’t know why, but the author so describing what is about to happen, with that phrase specifically, makes me jolly.
Also, this title is automatically gonna make some people pronounce Dina’s name wrong again. It just will happen. People will think ‘dinosaur’ and think ‘dye-nah’. This will undo all the work Willis has done on making ‘dee-nah’ the law of the land. But seeing it written it out like that…. xD
Actually, the opposite will happen – Dina’s cuteness, and continual association with dinosaurs, will cause people to start pronouncing ‘dinosaur’ as ‘dee-na-sore’.
(BTW, this is also what Dina thinks after a night of… vigorous activity… with Becky)
Thats ok in French we already pronounce it Dee-no-zor. We are way ahead.
And I always was pronouncing her name Dee-na in my head since I started reading the comic just a little while ago.
I love how the hat, while completely unchanging (except for general shape and position on her head) seems to emote anyway, making it an essential part of Dina’s character.
So it does. 🙂 My first comment post-gravatar-getting didn’t have the new picture yet, so I wasn’t sure if I’d maybe missed a step somewhere, but turns out it just needed time. 😀
Brontosaurus doesn’t exist. They thought that when they discovered it, it was a new species, but was later found to just be a misidentified Brachiosaurus.
As we have said a bit further up in the comments section, there might be sufficient skeletal evidence now for Brontosaurus to potentially be considered its own separate genus.
Okay, is it just me, or do her facial expressions and body positioning look like she was finding this dream arousing? I can’t imagine sleeping all night with your arm out flat like that, so it seems more likely she moved under her body while she was dreaming. In the 1st panel it looks like she’s straining, then she hits the wall, then she wakes up with a somewhat guilty looking expression and her hand reappears. Or am I just wishful thinking about a future Slipshine strip?
I very often sleep with my arms either completely along my body – or with the arms folded to use as buffer between my belly and the mattress so my chest is more comfortable – so I didn’t read this like that at all. The panel where she moves her hand up and has wide opened eyes just looks to me like realising it’s morning, and positioning her arm so she can push herself up. Which isn’t to say I don’t like the way you think. 🙂
This is the only strip I recall that has no characters in it (and I’m not really sure how to search for no tags), and jumping from that strip to boning isn’t really a huge leap.
Today’s Sauropod Saturday. Tomorrow’s Stegosaur Sunday, then Marginocephalia Monday, Pterosaur Ptuesday (wherein she details just why it’s known they’re not dinosaurs), Wildcard Wednesday (can be anything), Theropod Thursday, and finally Fantasy Friday (where she does nothing but think about riding and playing with dinosaurs).
Happy morning thoughts? Smiling within seconds of awakening? Waking up NOT feeling like crap mentally and physically? What is this strange new world in which I find myself?
Not all of Dina’s thoughts are about things that are dead, if I’m right about that last thought bubble in the lower-right hand corner of that last panel. Exactly what is Dina thinking about Becky? It seems that we are not to find out. Not yet, anyway.
In any case, I’m excited about this arc. What is the world like in Dina-vision? We will soon see!
… on a totally different track ….
I was just reviewing the cast page and it struck me as odd that the majority of the female characters were bespectacled (7 with glasses vs 5 w/o) while only one out of 6 male characters has glasses (Jacob). Does the author/artist have a thing for girls with glasses or is it just pure happenstance?
Of course Dina is aware that “Brontosaurus” is an obsolete scientifical name (being no longer in use) for the species of dinosaur nowadays known as Apatosaurus. It’s only in popular fiction that the name persists.
ah, Dina is pondering the elusive Beckylosaurus, discovered in late 2015, the first of its kind living nearly 9.5 million minutes ago
*does math*
Yep, that’s a sound estimation for the minute she’s lived.
also why did you people ask for this
Do not question the lustwolves, art-slave!
(Seriously, thanks. Nice work!)
The real question is why are you pretending you don’t like it?
There’s no pretending, why would you go with the stupid Halle Berry notCatwoman! costume.
We are all horribly corrupt degenerates.
Also, still has more dignity than this.
I hairball on that cover.
And I grab a mirror to check if the pose is doable.
Turns out that yes, it is. A little hard on the spine if held for long, though.
Might be hard for humans, Cats on the other hand…
But it’s some really impressive foreshortening.
But–but, he gave her practical shoes!! How can that cover possibly be sexist?!1
Did… did her ribcage dislodge or does she have a broken neck?
I have to say, that outfit looks a lot better on Danny than I thought it would. Anyway, what do you expect from fans of the guy who drew this?
Oh my god…this is beautiful. ^_^
Cue Danny’s Halloween costume next month (in-universe time)?
Meaning like 20 years from now ?
Escher boys!
Gah that is amazing!!! I wanted to do something similar but all I could do was a little squibble of his faaaaace.
I thought I was the only one who wanted to draw this 😂
Can we get ZeFrank to narrate this arc please?
Or it could be Becklespinax she’s thinking of.
HUSH.
Which one shall I walk like today?
First she has to open the door, get on the floor…
Everybody walk the Dina-saur!
boom boom shaka-laka-laka boom
boom boom shaka-laka boom boom
I find your Was (not Was) invocations intriguing and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
You know, in the FAQ Mr. Willis says this:
6) It’s pronounced “Dee-na.”
In English Dee-na-saur! sounds weird but in French it sounds fine.
Ive been pronouncing it Dee-na in my head when I seen her name and comments like this make me chuckle everytime.
Egyptians, she should walk like an Egyptian.
Don’t be silly!
There were NO dinosaurs in Egypt!
Dinosaurs HATE pyramids. 😛
Spinosaurus aegyptiacus begs to differ. 😛
Aegyptosaurus and Paralatitan beg to differ.
Oh boy
Time to learn some species!
Genera, but yes 🙂
Learning one is a natural side-effect of the other. I work best from the bottom up.
True!
That sounds perverse. >_>
Not that I’m not so embarrassingly rusty that I failed to slot those names into the proper taxonomic rank…
So embarrassed, in fact, that I forgot to end the italization after ‘not.’
Volkheimeria, Lapparentosaurus (which has a strangely distorted letter L) and Cedarosaurus are all ones I’ve never heard of, which surprises me. Also, I love the little question mark next to Brontosaurus.
No question about it. We Brontosauri do exist
While Daniel the Human remembered the name wrong, Utahraptor appears to be 1 of the largest of the “Raptor” type dinosaurs, with earlier feathered ancestors strongly suggesting it had feathers. Daniel the Human remembered it as Euroraptor :P.
If you wish to see just how big it was, you can see in this picture, posing with a rather dapper gentleman. Because we all know there were plenty of dapper gentlemen around then, showing off their raptor collections…
I am ridiculously excited about this.
this is already the best arc of all time.
Yes. Yes it is.
Oh, yeah. Oooh, ahhh, that’s how it always starts. Then later there’s running and um, screaming…
Right there with you! If “getting the popcorn” wasn’t sarcasm-only…
This is going to be the best thing ever, isn’t it?
I have high hopes.
Everyone should have such High Hopes
High, apple pie in the– skyyy hopes?
(at the risk of being a dork and no one knowing the song)
So any time you’re gettin’ low
‘Stead of lettin’ go, just remember that ant
Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant
And a miwwion kilowatt dam.
Seriously, listen to the song. There’s at least one recording where Sinatra said “miwwion” instead of “million.”
*sudden heavy rock interruption* (10 points if you get this one)
Goofie Movie yes? I cant believe just reading that comment of yours sparked that in my memory.
I’m afraid to have high hopes. The comment section is happy and we all know that can’t last.
Yes.
It needs more David Attenborough narration.
perfect idea!
Seconded!
If he were still with us, William Conrad (narrator of Rocky and Bullwinkle, Wide Wide World of Animals) would work really well for this too.
You forgot star of “Cannon”.
For some reason, your comment reminded me of this show from the 70s; Animals Animals Animals
YES, yes, David Attenborough. That is what we need. We got Timelord here, let’s send them back to make sure this happens…
I really hope that this is just Dina walking in and out of various storylines.
As do I.
Drama? No, it’s DINA TIME.
And these storylines involve the minor characters at DoA.
Like that one episode of Babylon 5.
That was a great episode.
I very much expect it to be! 😀
Yes it will be the best thing ever, untill the next new best thing ever.
omg dina is so cute
Especially with the drool on her chin.
She senses prey. That cereal doesn’t stand a chance.
So Dina is a Cereal Killer?
Corner. Now.
You should get Life for that.
Or at least a few Kix in the (Grape) Nuts.
Right in their lucky charms? ouch!
Please tell me I’m not the only one who definitely remembers that that “cereal killer” line was said by one of the characters in QC some years ago… *hides*
That line was first said by somebody’s dad like 12 seconds after the invention of cereal.
And yet I didn’t get it until Hoodiecrow denounced it. Not my night, it seems.
But it was used best in the classic film “Hackers.”
Yay I thought i was the only one who remembered that.
I don’t remember it from QC, but to my eternal shame I remember it from Friends.
She and Kai Leng both.
Will we ever see Dina hatless?
She has to hide her feathers somehow.
And now I have Coheed and Cambria’s “Feathers” Stuck in my head… I know what I’m listening to at work today!
“Right now, hide your feathers on the back porch, baby.
He’s coming home for… you’ve… been… such… a liar.
Hide your feathers, little back porch lady.
You’re too old enough to cry… your… sorry eyes out over the world.”
Between your Gravatar and this comment, I love everything that has transpired in the few inches above me.
why would we want to?
Last time we did, she blew up.
In theory it was because of a bomb in the room, but I prefer to think that Dina herself is highly explosive, and the hat is like the pin in a grenade.
It’s a naturally evolved defense.
But a defense against what?
Probably against Young Earth Creationists.
British Ninjas…
Still too soon.
It will always be too soon.
Preview panels indicate yes; she switches it up for a hood.
Why not just keep the hat on under the hood! Solution solved!
Noooo! I don’t want ghetto Dina!
Did we ever see her in the original universe without her Sylvester McCoy hat?
Yeah, but it was the best she could do.
TOO SOON!
Just like Double D?
Oh no
Think of the crossover potential
Think of it and despair
Is this an “Ed, Edd, and Eddie” reference?
She shall remove the hat only in great dramatic fashion and circumstances.
I.e., an upcoming Slipshine.
Seeing the top of Dina’s head is like seeing a Victorian lady’s ankles.
She takes her hat off for one thing, and one thing only.
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
OH MY DINA
So, Becky is a kind of dinosaur.
But she’s evolving. . .
So….it’s an Evolution Revoluton?
(Now I’m thinking about Beast Machines. Crap.)
And here I was reminded of Digimon.
Lancelot Link flashback?
I’m never that happy waking up. I need to try this.
Then again, I’m so out of it in the morning that I’ll be more like “Dino…Yoshi…Barney…Dragonzord? What the fuck is a dragonzord anywZZzzz…”
Yeah, you’d kind of need to program yourself with the names if you want to remember them. Detailed knowledge of what the name means helps a lot.
So does this mean that this chapter will be a Dinumentary?
*plays the theme song to Harry And His Bucket of Dinosaurs on the Muzak in the hall*
In which I notice for the first time there was never internal monologue before this.
Ruth?
Yeah Ruth got it once.
http://www.dumbingofage.com/2014/comic/book-5/01-when-somebody-loved-me/moron/
I think someone else may of had it before too but I forget when.
hasn’t sarah also?
Y’know it has to be good, ‘cus I’m pretty sure I remember Willis saying he’s not a fan of drawing thought bubbles, so it’s gotta be spectacular to warrant it.
Thinking about it, have we ever seen Dina without her hat? In this strip
Which strip was that again? Because your link went in the drink.
Easy, don’t cause a stink ’cause the link’s in the drink. Least it’s not real ink, I think.
I think they meant DoA as a whole. This ‘verse, effectively.
Yeah we saw Dina’s head in the walkyverse.
Yeah, when she went kaboom.
How many people are ignorant of this’s eternal too soon state?
Should i feel bed that i saw walking with dina and the song walk the dinosaur came into my head
Yes. Walk by Pantera is what should be going through your mind.
I got “Bungle in the Jungle” for some reason.
I don’t know any songs about dinosaurs 🙁
If you don’t feel bed, it’s probably because you’ve been lying on top of your arms. Roll over and try to flail them around a bit to wake them up again.
Willis this was a really bad idea.
I mean there’s no way the rest of the comic is going to be able to live up to this.
Every chapter without Dina monologue will be inferior by comparison smh.
The solution, of course, is that every day Willis releases a MST3K version of the strip with Ruthless, Dina, and Joe mocking the comic. Ruthless to berate everyone, Joe to comment on the women, and Dina being Dina.
This… this must become a thing.
No question. I WILL donate to Patreon for this if it has any shot at becoming a thing.
Open the door. Get on the floor. Everybody walk the Dinasaur.
…So you’re saying Becky is dead? D:
Joyce: I see dead people
Like Mike and Walky?
Why, because of the dinosaur thoughts? Dinosaurs aren’t extinct. There are more species of dinosaurs alive today than there are mammals.
We call them birds.
Oh, wait. Alt-text.
Never mind.
(The bit about birds is still true, though.)
Yeah, but all the species she’s thinking of are dead. They’re all sauropods, so they don’t even get living descendants like the theropods do.
Maybe she’s hungry. Can you imagine the size of that top sirloin?
Maybe she wants to jump some bones?
Becky’s first in line for that idea.
Oh god how did I not notice the “Beck-” in the lower right corner there. Yes yes yes my ship.
Maggie sounds hilarious, going by the alt-text. That’d have never occurred to me.
Also, that Dina drools in her sleep is very endearing.
But…Ruth totally had an internal monologue earlier in this book.
Yes, but she wasnt allowed to. She merely achieved a level of sentience that she rebelled against Willis.
If she progresses farther along this path, there’ll be an outbreak of femur-beatings in our world.
…YES. Not only are you focusing on my favorite character, but in a special named after my favorite documentary series as a child. Thank you, Willis.
But, yeah, the dinosaurs had a lot to do with it.
Documentaries: Reality TV for smart people.
Amen to that, brother. Amen to that.
That said, I DO watch reality TV. I mean, The Amazing Race and MasterChef and other competition shows (not Survivor, The Bachelor shows, or Big Brother; screw those), but, some reality TV. Not the trashy stuff, though. At least, I don’t think it’s trashy.
We’ve known the title of this chapter for months and I didn’t notice that until you brought it up. Damn, that is really fitting.
D’awww, she’s a sleep-drooler!
An honest-to-goodness internal monologue?! Well fancy that!
It strikes me that that hat has to be getting kind of ripe now since she never takes it off.
She has spares, and switches when we can’t see her.
Behind the door.
We don’t see her all that often. There’s a reasonable chance that she washes it every two or three days.
And before anyone says “You don’t need to wash a hat that often”, I don’t know anything about hat care. I don’t wear hats…ever, really, now that I think about it.
I see you in the corner there, ‘Beck….’, I SEE YOU. Don’t think I don’t see you!
he’s a loser, baby, so why don’t we kill him
Fun Factz: There are zero other songs by Beck.
This is my favorite comment maybe ever.
Also, Beck is a Scientologist, which is a random fact I know about him. He was born into it and everything. Idek.
You can be born into Scientology? Man that must really suck.
facts:
-dina’s happy morning thoughts are about dead things

OH MY!
YAY! SO COOL!
So this is Sunday morning of week 6?
Wouldn’t put it past Willis that she’s thinking of this guy, and he’s just throwing us off: http://www.nhm.ac.uk/nature-online/life/dinosaurs-other-extinct-creatures/dino-directory/becklespinax.html
She appears to be thinking solely of sauropods, so that wouldn’t work. It would have to be a sauropod with a name beginning with “Beck”.
Becklespinax is not a sauropod, but it is not quite as different from them as Becky MacIntyre.
If you look at the shape of the bubble, it seems far too small to include Beckospinax
THIS IS WHAT I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR
Brontosaurus?
I heard there was some new evidence coming to light that might legitimize it as having actually existed as something other than a hoax…
I didn’t read it for myself because I was too busy frothing with rage.
It was never a hoax, that is for sure.
There were arguments about junior and senior synonyms (the usual Bone Wars type of mess), and a particularly famous mount was built with an incorrect skull (they didn’t have one at the time, and figured the one they picked would be close enough, but later they found the real deal and it was pretty different)
Specifically, the conjectural skull given to the Brontosaurus excelsis skeleton was based on Camarasaurus, which was discussed here a week or so back.
Thank you! And I must have missed that one.
I saw that mount with the wrong skull in the British Museum when I was a kid!
So cool. Damn, that thing was HUUUGE.
I wonder if it’s still there?
Why would you froth with rage over something being real?
Because if it happens Sludge is a real Dinobot again!

If it’s agreed that Brontosaurus is a valid genus, they’ve already done the story; if it’s decided that, no, it really is just a couple species of Apatasaurus, well, that’s just not sexy.
Well, Brontosaurus does got back, so therefore it must be sexy. It’s science.
Here’s an article about it from earlier this year: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-brontosaurus-is-back1/
I was immensely pleased when I learned of this.

Too many links, now Willis will have to approve this. Sorry for the trouble!
I love you guys. Especially since I know you will be at it this entire storyline. 🙂
Awww, Dina’s bed palette is green and yellow.
We won’t be short of aww’s and daww’s during this whole storyline. 🙂
“Thats how it all starts, but then there is running and um screaming*”
*) You wish, Becky, you are only at second base yet, and that’s experimentally.
ALL MY YES.
I AM GOING TO LEARN SO MUCH ABOUT DINOSAURS!
(and perhaps lesbians)
Inner monologues are my favorite. Also my favorite, though, are stories which begin with the phrase “in which…” I don’t know why, but the author so describing what is about to happen, with that phrase specifically, makes me jolly.
I personally associate it with Winnie-the-Pooh.
I… I only 3 of those…
Teach me Dina Sempai!
No thoughts of cereal?
I wondered the same, since cereal seems like an appropriate thing to think about when one first awakens.
I know I do. Right after I think, “Well, here I am” or similar.
My thoughts first thing in the morning steer more towards, “Who the hell invented morning?”
That’s why they always used to schedule executions at sunrise. Who in the hell wants to be awake at 5:00 in the morning anyway?
Not the guy who invented the snooze button for sure
My first thoughts in the morning are bwaarg *falls back asleep*
I ♥ ‘Brontosaurus?’
The level of adorability here should be illegal.
I know enough paleontology to get that question mark after “Brontosaurus.” 😉
“Today, we’ll be talking about dinosaurs.
It’s a DI-NO-SAURUS LINE!!“
This should be its own spin-off comic.
Please Willis? Pretty please, with sugar on top? I-I’ll have your babies….
Maggie has that covered 😛
I would read a Dina spinoff comic. Hell I would double my patreon pledge for something like that. I AM INSATIABLE
This is basically its own spin off chapter – let’s no be greedy here. 🙂
If you ship Dina and Becky, you put their names together and you get Dicky. And obviously I need sleep. x.x
Yah Dina!
Woot stomach sleepers!
Next strip:
Becky awakens next to Dina and says “Whatcha thinkin’ about, Babe?”
“Dinosaurs, what else?”
“Aw, not about me?”
“Sure, you’re my favorite dinosaur, Beckysaurus.”
“C’mere you sexy paleontologist.”
Giggles and fade out.
I like the way your brain works. Yes good. I need fanfic of this.
“You were in there somewhere.”
“With the dinosaurs? I wasn’t gettin’ eaten, was I?”
“Sauropods are herbivores.”
Dina, a strange and happy ray of sunshine in a gloom & doom dorm of less fortunate DoAer’s.
Nice. I like. She is a cute little rascal.
I’m so excited
So Dina never takes the hat off? Does she ever wash it?
Of course she does, it gets washed when she showers.
No it doesn’t! She puts a cap over it!
A shower cap for your cap? :O
Saaame. English is weird.
Same in German, actually. Dee-no-zau-ria basically 😉
Get with the program, English tbh.
I certainly hope that Becky, who seems to be a thought going off the side panel, is not dead!
Insert obligatory truck jokes here.
Squee! A Dina storyline!
Your avatar + your comment = perfection 😀
Just because Dina Gravatar thread.
So, are we, just for a single glorious moment, entering a drama-free zone?
Sarah will desperately cling to Dina’s leg: “PLEASE, LET ME STAY WITH YOU”

lol.
And people cite things like that as examples of what’s bad with Wikipedia! 😉
Well, now we know what is the content of the mystery that is Dina’s brain!
She has been very… subtle in her interests so far.
I love Dina. I love her thoughts, I love her naivete, all of it.
She’s not all that naive. She’s picked up on certain ques far faster than other characters.
I just noticed the drool, and now I’m giggling.
Re alt-text: Dina is very good at putting herself in a comforting cocoon and she’s very clear on what comforts her.
I love how she wakes up all …sleeping… sleeping… sleeping .. DING dinosaurs! New Happy Day!
I AM ACTUALLY PHYSICALLY VIBRATING AND MADE A SOUND THAT WAS INVOLUNTARY THIS DOESN’T HAPPEN OFTEN
kinky.
I love how the hat, while completely unchanging (except for general shape and position on her head) seems to emote anyway, making it an essential part of Dina’s character.
This arc is already the best arc.
No one has snagged awake!Dina as their gravatar yet? Strange
Is there a way I can chose my avatar without having to go and make a gravatar? Because if there is, I will immediately take awake!Dina :3
That’s the only way I know. Might be worth the effort though (I’m not giving up happy blue-panel Becky just yet though)
Well then, Gravatar it is.
Now I just have to figure out how this thing works. .-.
Works great, apparently 🙂
So it does. 🙂 My first comment post-gravatar-getting didn’t have the new picture yet, so I wasn’t sure if I’d maybe missed a step somewhere, but turns out it just needed time. 😀
Yeah, it usually takes a minute or two before a new gravatar takes.
Dina’s bed hair is so adorable! ><
Sleeping with her hat on ? 😮
The way Becky sneaks into Dina’s thoughts kinda reminds me of Robin’s mental landscape over in shortpacked, here (spoiler… I suppose)
It seems like Dina is doing a variation of the Elements song by Tom Lehrer, only with dinosaurs:
‘There’s Brachiosaurus, Cedarosaurus, Europasaurus, Brontosaurus…’
Of course! Brontosaurus for ever!!
Brontosaurus lives in our hearts ^^
Ooh, this’ll be interesting!
Dat cute drool tho.
*Fanboy squee*
It’s all fun and dinosaurs, until she starts trying to socially interact.
This is all going to end in tears, probably mine.
If Dina has any sisters I can’t recall, but I love to see five of.them all in different hoodies of their favorite dinosaurs.
I would have to call then Dinabots.
THE BEST TIME OF THE YE… DECADE HAS COME. REJOICE, AUDIENCE, WE ARE IN FOR A TREAT!
Whatever, I’m just glad the last panel didn’t read “A Dumbing Of Age pornographique”.
what in the fuck
I don’t really see how this is a ‘what the fuck’ question.
Because jumping from this image straight to sex is skeevy.
Eh, this comment section is obsessed with boning. Pretty much every page has at least one Slipshine request regardless of the circumstances.
Now I’m kinda scared to think what people might say if there was a strip with only inanimate objects in it.
This is the only strip I recall that has no characters in it (and I’m not really sure how to search for no tags), and jumping from that strip to boning isn’t really a huge leap.
Amber’s whiteboard x Joyce’s whiteboard is my OTP.
And when it’s not Slpishine-type-boning, we’re talking dinosaur bones. Really this site’s comment section’s flag should be that Dig It T-shirt Dina (and I think Joe at some point?) was wearing way back.
Welp, today appears to be sauropod day . . .
Oh my God the Becky thought bubble.
Walking With Dina, eh?
I nominate Kenneth Branagh as the voice of her internal monologue.
This might get interesting.
Dammit Dina, how are you so damn cute even when you just woke up? >.<
OMG. OMG. OMG!!! This is amazing!!
I’m confused. Is this the next Slipshine? Seems a little less “pornlord-y” than I would’ve expected…
Also, does Dina have some special interest in sauropods, because that’s what all of those are (except the possible “Becky” bubble in the corner…)
Eww, Dina drool.
OK, real talk…I heard all of Dina’s inner monolouge like the “Manta Ray Song” from “Finding Nemo”.
^_^;;
I’m already excited.
Walk like an egyptian~
HELL YEAH DINA
Dina continues to be my favorite.
Doing a special:prefixindex/Beck on dinopedia gave me the Becklespinax
(I actually tried the english Wikipédia first, but there were wayyy too many unrelated results and I was lazy.)
speaking of which, the Wikipedia article on it is more complete so there :
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Becklespinax
… on a totally different track ….
I was just reviewing the cast page and it struck me as odd that the majority of the female characters were bespectacled (7 with glasses vs 5 w/o) while only one out of 6 male characters has glasses (Jacob). Does the author/artist have a thing for girls with glasses or is it just pure happenstance?
… just pondering
Yes, yes he does.
He totally does.
I’m the same way only it’s about fictional characters fucking
“America/Kate””Korra/Asami””Steph/Cass”
If this became the focal point of every strip from now on, that wouldn’t bother me
Dina of Age, I’d read that
Is…
Is this a Slipshine ad..?
I! AM! SO EXCITED!! ahhhhhhhh this will be so great.
…did I miss something? Am I the only one not seeing a new comic for July 11?
Never mind; the homepage isn’t updated, but there is indeed a Next Comic.
Of course Dina is aware that “Brontosaurus” is an obsolete scientifical name (being no longer in use) for the species of dinosaur nowadays known as Apatosaurus. It’s only in popular fiction that the name persists.
Just realized the word “Becky” is cut off in the last panel. “Beck-” Sneaky foreshadowing for the win!
Whoops, folks already pointed that out. My bad.
