I tend to make taco meat with tons of spices anyway, then absolutely smother with salsa and peppers, so it occurred to me that the meat could be replaced with pretty much anything and taste the same.
I eat vegetables, its just that I like cows to eat them first and get all the nutrients, as the recycling cycle works, I recycle the cows by eating them
If I have to eat meat substitute, I prefer mushroom-based to soybean-based. While the amount of water used raising beef can be 10 times that of many non-meat foods, there is one meat that has a water budget comparable to grain – but it would have to be that one that some major religions prohibit…
That’s exactly the same way I am with erasers! Now, OBVIOUSLY, on their own they taste terrible, but once you deep-fry them or marinate them and cover them with loads of sauces and spices, they taste perfectly fine and you can barely notice the difference. Why won’t people accept erasers as the excellent alternative to meat that they are?
The weapon is generally directed at “gays shouldn’t marry, climate change doesn’t exist and evolution is a lie” conservatives though, rather then actual economic/governmental conservative beliefs.
Its really silly the two fall under the same label frankly.
It’s sadly funny that back in Teddy Roosevelt’s era being a conservative also meant you were a conservationist – if you wanted to use natural lands for industry, you were called a progressive.
As a dedicated meat-eater, I was blown away by the deliciousness of Araya’s, a vegetarian Thai place in the U-District (Seattle). Fr realz, it is SUPER good.
Dorothy’s face is just the best.
Tofu will be the end of us all. Forever.
The real reason the Mayans stopped making the calendar was because the tofu-filled future was too horrific to contemplate.
I live in Seattle. I hate tofu despite that. ALL GLORY TO THE ONE TRUE BACON! BURN THE VEGAN XENOS AND VEGETARIAN HERETICS!
I love Joyce. I know some people can’t stand her, but I love her. And I’m a tofu-eating hippie myself. (Not from Seattle, though.)
Druggie hippie or “Fight da powa!” hippie?
“Fight da powa.” Non-violently of course.
Which power do you wish to fight?
What are your methods?
…somebody hasn’t had tofu curry.
Tofu just is not food.
Dat gravatar.
I know, right?
Tofu is great food. I prefer it to the musculature support system of an animal.
Oh man, I love musculature support systems. I’d much rather eat that that plant fetuses.
Okay, jokes aside – I love meat – but I agree that we could all stand eating more vegetables. Just don’t try to make me pretend meat ain’t delicious.
Musculature is tasty!
I’m no vegetarian, but yet, I do indeed prefer tofu over meat 9 times out of 10.
I often make tofu tacos. They are excellent.

I actually agree with Joyce here. Huh.
I’ll only eat tofu after it’s been breaded, deep-fried, and then slathered with some kind of katsu sauce.
And please, someone draw Joyce being held down by Sarah as Dorothy advances toward a terrified Joyce with an artsy cap.
I will! It will make you ROTFLOL.

(To(u)fu: the secret is to add sugar. *happiness*)
no it is to cook it in duck fat.
Making people eat tofu is a sin.
Tofu: one of the few legitimate conservative fears.
meh I am a conservative..dont care really what politicall affilation people are I just like webcomics read relax
Unfortunately for you, any liberal will tell you art is a weapon.

Tofu is fine as long as it is not too soft.
The real joke here is that Joice isn’t planing on talking to anyone. Thats why shes asking Dorothy to say it for her.
No, no the real joke is that DOROTHY is at EMERALD CITY eh? …Nobody? [quietly exits]
No the real joke is that this makes Joyce one of the FRIENDS OF DOROTHY.
Yes Seattle yes people are talking about Seattle on the internet Internet people, continue to do this please.
(sorry)
Tofu used as a substitute for meat usually sucks.
Tofu used as tofu however can be very tasty! Inari-sushi anyone? (just to name an example)
Why is Seattle the most liberal city in America?
Cause it’s right below Vancouver. Free spirit, hipsters and enough pot to kill 2 pink elephants. It kinda bleeds over to Seattle..
Not “the most”, “one of the most”.
It’s only the most liberal if you leave out all of us over here in California.
Hey, we took care of gay marriage before you did, sukaz!
That was a state thing. Eastern Washington is whipped in a way that the parts of California outside the liberal hot zones are not.
I have never agreed with Joyce more than I do at this moment. She could probably pull off the cap, though.
Fuck I just noticed Willis started adding hovertext to the comics. Now I have to go back and read them all. At least it didn’t start too long ago.
Man. I’m literally like a drive away in Vancouver. ;o; DAMN YOU LACK OF TRANSPORT!!
I’m not sure I’m following the Barack Obama being attractive comment.
(Scratches head.)
You must be a guy. And at least he’s not one of those republican candidates.
It’s more that I’m not sure why Joyce wants the people of Seattle to know she thinks a politician is attractive.
Why would they care?
While I don’t eat it often, Tofu is a versatile food which can be quite tasty in the hands of a skilled chef.
The way it’s produced is pretty gross though. It’s the hot-dog of vegetables.
Don’t let them make you eat tofu, Joyce!! D:
I’m a vegetarian, but I rarely eat tofu. I think it’s pretty gross in most applications.
Tofu is the worst meat substitute available.
Seitan and texturized mycoprotein are much better at having flavor (even if it isn’t necessarily meat) and simulating texture.
As a dedicated meat-eater, I was blown away by the deliciousness of Araya’s, a vegetarian Thai place in the U-District (Seattle). Fr realz, it is SUPER good.
Dorothy goes to Emerald City… I hope she enjoys the tofu. And the munchkins.
Dorothy. In the Emerald City. *snirK*
C12. Look forward to meeting you.
