Perhaps I am overly optimistic, but I think so. In the flashback, Raidah appeared to be the one who was engaging with Sarah the most. She has her head on straight, and she seems a heck of a lot nicer than her friends (see: the incident at the mall with Dina).
It does speak to Sarah’s better nature that her apology is sincere and personal, not simply an obligation to avoid legal consequence. Also, Raidah, she punched you in front of like five witnesses, couldn’t you just go to the police?
Yes, but if she did that then she’d be someone who snitched to the authorities and that seems to be her sole reason for disliking Sarah. Given her somewhat joking attitude I think Raidah might’ve spoken to Dana shortly after getting hit and might’ve been set straight about what happened.
Yeah. Or she’s done the Drift-transform (pun-intended)-Moody character who everybody loves to hate into amusing character who is still a tiny bit hated, but at least now he’s nice to have around.
First they will talk heart to heart to take care of the problem. Then it escalate into a heated argument followed by a shouting match. They start pulling each other hair and calling names. It climaxed on rough make out session and angry sex.
Under the agreement that both will go out of the way not to get too emotional. Air grievances, and let the other explain. And then, even if they don’t agree on anything or get along by the end of it, stop open hostilities. No Raidah-sniping, no Sarah-punching.
@Ridureyu – are you KIDDING ME!?!?!?!
what OBVIOUSLY needs to happen is Sarah and Raidah should have a passionate lovefest to get rid of all the hostile aggression 😉
I can picture Sarah wanting to try that in for the sake of the moral high ground, but something tells me Raidah would simply play along enough to find and opening in order to get Sarah’s goat.
I like that Sarah’s apologizing for the fact the punch happened, but doesn’t say she feels bad about it. Because frankly she doesn’t and I wouldn’t either.
Assault? I think her case would be a tad difficult, given that I see no evidence she filed a police report.
Then again, perhaps Radiah not filing an assault charge speaks that she is not quite as focused on ruining Sarah’s life as she had been with her repeated past verbal assaults.
Perhaps the harassment was more Pavlovian – see Sarah, harass Sarah. When away from Sarah and eyeing the police station she was approaching, without the stimulus she perhaps decided that premeditated cruelty wasn’t quite justified.
Plus, she had two pounds of weed in her purse. Truly, charity and goodwill towards others kept her from entering that police station.
Assault is the improper term as the act was Battery, but today most criminal statutes comingle the two. However, what Radiah was threatening would be a civil suit for battery so that term should be applied and yes, she has a slam dunk case. However, as a civil case it would have no bearing on Sarah’s admittence into law school or the bar. For that matter, it would have little bearing even if it was a criminal matter as its only a misdameanor. After all, plenty of people are admitted to school and the bar with a record of DUIs or DWIs that bear a lot stiffer penalty than Assault/Battery.
@Soon to be Lawyer:
“However, what Radiah was threatening would be a civil suit for battery so that term should be applied and yes, she has a slam dunk case.”
Assuming Joyce & Billy did not act as witnesses, would Radiah have enough evidence to win?
Is there a chance of peace here?

Plus I think Sarah is willing to let this pass.
I wouldn’t get too hopeful, but I’d put decent odds on a ceasefire.
There’s a chance of SOMETHING.
*cough*SarahxRaidah*cough*
Well, at least now she knows it’s sincere… unless she thinks Sarah’s a good actress.
I imagine Raidah doesn’t think much of Sarah.
One single sprinkle sugar cookie please.
No, it’s a sausage with… a burned pizza with… a hamburger patty and some… what IS that?
Mystery meat?
Yeah, it’s a mystery if it is even meat.
With those brightly colored pieces …
Retired Circus animals?
Lincolnshire herb sausage with added chilli flakes? (Raidah must have a tough stomach.)
Reminds me of Mr. Wilson’s BBQ in the live action Dennis the Menace movie.
Huh? Never thought of that.
Me neither
I guess Willis thinks more like a lawyer than any of us
Maybe because he need to protect his IPs too…
Aaaaand my avatar change again….
So what’s m-?
Oh.
Awkward…

And the unofficial theme of DoA so far is “stop snitchin'”
If you rat, you’ll go splat,
If you tattle I’ll make your bones rattle
If you snitch, I’ll kill you, bongo.
Spread the news, wear cement shoes.
If you tell I’ll send you to hell
If you say any words, you’ll be an extra in “Birds”
An ye inform, for ye a wretched bloody form.
If you talk you’ll be outlined in chalk
If you blab, you’ll be slab.
If you sing, the pain I will bring.
If you squeal, it’s pain you will feel.
If you betray, your head will be on a tray.
If you reiterate, I’ll obliterate
If you converse, you’ll wind up in a hearse.
If you soliloquize, then I shall brutalize
If you yammer, you’ll get the hammer.
If you say, I will slay.
If you conversate I will exterminate.
If not kept low key, I will attempt to kill thee.
Speak not, or be shot.
If you talk, no more walk.
If you speak, you won’t last a week.
If you testify, it’d be best to die.
If you report it, you’ll be aborted.
If you scream, I’ll rip you from seam to seam.
If you blurt it out, it’s you I will clout.
If you aren’t quiet, we’ll go on a riot
If you’re a screamer, you lose your femur.
Oh man I love this avatar so much
or it would if said apology wasn’t entirely due to joyce giving her the wut for
If you narc, you’ll be my mark.
Apology cubed man. Raidah seems pretty cool about all this.
She’s probably high as a kite.
reminded me of William Shatner singing Rocket Man
you can’t unhear that
Glad to see Sarah still has her priorities in order.
I want an appology, actually make it a double…with a side of humble pie.
And cake. Don’t forget the cake.
Not a lot of fast food resturaunts do cake.
Well, a Mega Mac works too.
Besides, I’ve heard that cake can be less than truthful.
If it’s served by an AI,yes.
I think an apology cake is in order.
Sorry if it’s all mushed up. I flipped it.
Is it chocolate cake?
Walky?
What?
Walky the chocolate cake.
Get it? 😉
He’s a chocolate-vanilla blend.
That’s why Dorothy can’t get enough of him.
I thought he was caramel.
I think that one goes to….. Joe?
*raises eyebrow* Fascinating.
Raidah’s gone from an almost Malaya-level bongo to Sarah’s cool friend. I approve.
I think she’s just gone from Malaya-level bongo to Roz level bongo. pardon my language.
Yeah. Or she’s done the Drift-transform (pun-intended)-Moody character who everybody loves to hate into amusing character who is still a tiny bit hated, but at least now he’s nice to have around.
Or from reactionary to subtle. Either way, it’s a step up. As for the twosome getting on with their lives, I’m not sure they’re there yet….
First they will talk heart to heart to take care of the problem. Then it escalate into a heated argument followed by a shouting match. They start pulling each other hair and calling names. It climaxed on rough make out session and angry sex.
What?
So Billie was right then?
Even a stopped clock is right when it talks about hatesex.
*eyebrow raise*
That’s… different.
*raise eyebrow*
Fascinating.
*strokes imaginary beard*
Indeed.
*twirling mustache*
Indubitably.
*sips tea*
Quite.
*runs in circles*
Huh..
*turns around dramatically*
OFF COURSE!
ACK!
*drops china set in Macy’s*
Don’t SCARE me like that.
*Slowly removed sunglasses*
Wonders where the hell Miami went.
*hears loud scream*
*slurps last of tea through straw*
HAY THIS TEA IS GOOD
Of course. It’s Tea ‘n’ Tea.
But is it dynamite?
It’s tha bomb.
*wears a monocle*
I say!
*strokes real beard*
Hmmmm…
Honestly, they need to sit down and talk.
Under the agreement that both will go out of the way not to get too emotional. Air grievances, and let the other explain. And then, even if they don’t agree on anything or get along by the end of it, stop open hostilities. No Raidah-sniping, no Sarah-punching.
Sounds like Joe will, again, be disappointed.
But not us or the fanficers.
We will continue to live on.
And my reply vanished? Why did that happen?
We can reply without saying anything? let me try!
Success!
So you have just succeeded at nothing?
Absolutely!
Always overachieve at everything, including nothing!
@Ridureyu – are you KIDDING ME!?!?!?!

Im liking radiah more and more.
At least this one made it so Sarah seemed a little more serious in the apology, last one just seemed cruel.
But I really want more Radiah.
I like that Sarah’s apologizing for the fact the punch happened, but doesn’t say she feels bad about it. Because frankly she doesn’t and I wouldn’t either.

“I was so scared…. she knows where I live, and I heard she once laid into some guy at a party with a baseball bat.”
Cute.
I’m glad she apologized and the other didn’t file a complaint.
They are truly above themselves. 😉
BATTERY
Assault is verbal, she brought out the hurt. Throw in some battery.
I think they threw some batteries into the food.
Kinda aside the point, but what the hell is Raidah -eating- there?
Nobody knows!
Who the hell knows? It’s college food!
Funny, most college food I know of looks better than that.
So someone whose beef is Sarah getting whatshername’s parents involved… threatens to get her parent involved.
I’ve never been so furious at a webcomic character before.
…something’s up. Sarah shouldn’t trust her.
Sarahs a misanthrope, I doubt she’ll trust her…
