She knows what shipping is. And if you know what shipping is, you probably know what boning… (*thinks back to many fanfics I’ve read written by teenagers*) …okay, you probably have a vague, general idea of what boning is.
Even if she didn’t know or wanted to think about “Bone City,” I have a feeling she understands what making out is and can just focus on that part of Billie’s suggestion.
She keeps promising to stab all the things, but none of the things have been stabbed!!! Except for everyone in Bone City of course, all the things in Bone City have been stabbed, just not with a sharp piece of metal.
After the Staffordshire branch of The Royal Society for Stabbing All Things declared the whole thing “a bit silly”, stabbing all things quickly went out of fashion. The very latest in stabbing is Stabbing One Single Thing Repeatedly, expected to be included in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Your avatar makes me happy. I seriously love FE. Also, the thought of the character commenting on same-sex shipping is really funny to me for some reason.
Aww, thanks! She’s my favorite. And you’re right, just imagining Lyn shipping in general is hilarious.
Now I have this image of her being a fangirl for some random ship like Florina/Wil or something. She and the Tactician (also a closet
shipper for the cast, of course, since he/she puts them together for supports) stay up late discussing their various ships after she rejoins the party.
I’m pretty sure, not certain if it has been said or not, but Raidah and the others got pissed that Dana was taken from school by her father…. because Dana was the supply.
That being said, Sarah DOES need to be the bigger person and just drop the past and ignore Raidah, letting the girl constantly push her buttons… that does NOT help anything and really? It keeps her connected to her brother. I wouldn’t be surprised if deep down, Sarah fears that she is exactly like him and living a lie of normalcy.
Exactly. You can actually understand why Sarah has become even more introverted in this new school year if one of the first times she goes out in public she runs into the girls who will continue to make her feel bad about something that needed to be done.
It’s not over a year later, it’s either about six or ten months later, depending on which midterms Sarah was talking about. Since Sarah had time to get acquainted with Dana’s friends and some time elapsed before she felt compelled to call Dana’s dad, I’d guess it’s been about six months. /nerdmode
Joyce has a point, actually. If you do the right thing regardless of whether or not the other person is being an ass, then you are still doing the right thing.
Man billie would fuck the shit outta walky in a second that’s not even a question
I don’t know what the fuck is the matter with sarah though jesus christ you literally punched someone in the literal fucking face, woman, the fuck is wrong with you?
Both. It’s becoming a running, cyclic gag on the hamster wheel of life, which has become detached from the framework of reality and is rolling down the road towards that dead horse people are always beating for some odd reason.
You should never punch people. Violence is never the answer. Because you’re a girl and you can’t hurt people with your violence. That’s why the right thing to do is to hire somebody to do your punching for you. Go apologize to Raidah for the way you insulted her with your grievous breach of punchiquette.
Yea, unless something else happened between Dana’s dad taking her back home and the punch (beyond the verbal needling) Sarah was in the wrong for the punch. I think she handled Dana and her situation as best as it could have been handled but the punching was probably out of line.
And she failed to yell “FALCON PUNCH!” when punching which is just another level of fail.
But Sarah’s there on a scholarship! Joyce needs to be more understanding of the situation. Sarah probably couldn’t afford Mike’s punching fees. Especially if he was to punch EVERYONE Sarah disliked!
Mike does a lot of work pro bono and is always willing to negotiate prices. You wanna hire one of them highfalutin pugilists with their diploma on the wall that’s another story. Mike’s always there for the people when Big Punching doesn’t have the little man covered.
Good shot across the bows Joyce…didn’t know you had it in you. Billie didn’t like it a bit…which means she does want Walky? I just can’t see that ship. He is so ‘unaware’ and she is so self aware…how do they touch. As for Sarah, nope don’t apologize, you acted on the spur of the moment but that spur has been in your back for a year.
Wait, Billie’s the self-aware one? Billie? The one who’s trying to get in tight with the cheerleaders and drink her way to the top of the social ladder?
Excusable is different from acceptable. Apologizing is the right thing, because Raidah didn’t punch first or anything. Plus, it’ll leave Sarah with a sense of moral superiority that should last for weeks.
Don’t know if anyone out there’s voiced this yet, but I’ve just now started to suspect that Joyce’s shipping of Walky/Billie may eventually lead Billie to start noticing things that aren’t there between her and Walky. And all too soon she’ll find herself questioning her feelings for him…
I actually once did something similar to one of my friends.
By Billie’s logic she should make out with Ruth. Now that would be a choice, Billie or Walky. That being said I think Joyce is right about apologizing for hitting Raidah because that was uncalled for and perhaps Sarah might want to see someone about her anger problem.
Radiah been calling for it for months, with a loudspeaker. Sarah still could use a formal chill pill, though; she is the one* character that we’ve seen react to problems with violence. I mean, awesome as it was, that was a baseball bat she was using that time.
* making the natural assumption that Sarah is Amazigirl.
The one character? Even leaving Amazi-girl out of it, Joe would like to have a word about his date with Joyce. (Which, as somebody pointed out upthread, makes it ironic that Joyce is the one saying that you should apologize for hitting people.)
It’s worth mentioning that Ruth’s beef with Billie may have more in common with Raidah’s beef with Sarah than anyone realizes.
Taking the “Make out already, you two!” line a step too literally aside, I’m afraid this may be Homer Simpson accurately predicting the pollution in Springfield’s atmosphere would break down Bart’s killer comet to the size of a Chihuahua’s head all over again…
Were these people more likable when they were in the Walky! comic? Willis has mentioned not using Malaya in Dumbing because he’s still finding his footing with her and making the parallel universe version of her at this point would throw him off, but hell, half the female cast of Dumbing are already bitter and hostile to everything for no apparent reason, what the hell do we need Malaya for?
Raidah, to the best of my knowledge, is new or was a very minor character in the Walkyverse. Dana was a background one as well.
Billie was ill-adjusted from the start, but I’m pretty sure she only really became a major character after Ruth died. She was a heavy drinker before, though.
Ruth was always messed up, but I think she was more bitter and depressed, as opposed to here where she’s kind of evil.
Joyce had issues, but was WAY better with people from It’s Walky! on. Before, though? CRAZY STALKER. Near-yandere levels. This is actually BETTER than she was in Roomies, because she doesn’t cling onto the first one she meets and never let go.
Sarah? To the best of our knowledge, she was pretty much always a business-first lawyer type, but without the backstory.
Sal is less angsty and more “does not like people” here than in Walky.
I don’t subscribe to J&W, so I can’t say much about Dorothy, especially since it’s unfinished.
Amazi-Girl is always fabulous.
Dina… may have been slightly better-socialized in Walky, but was also REALLY bad with relationships. She was the one who dated Mike by keeping him continually drunk, if you read back to the start of the dating story.
Robin’s probably been one of the biggest changes, since she’s now actually kind of serious and uptight.
Roz seems a bit less obnoxious here, probably because we haven’t heard her opinions on sex addiction’s existence.
Joyce is quickly becoming the most interesting character in this comic. In some ways she’s even more sheltered than the original Joyce, but in other ways she seems a lot less naive.
First- I am surprised a sheltered girl like Joyce understands the concept of “bone city”, especially under such minimal context.
Second- she was appalled by the idea of premarital relations in her women’s studies course- so why is she suggesting it as an alternative for her friend now?
Third- THAT FACE. That does not seem like a Joyce face.
This is actually pretty common among home schooled people. The only thing is that they are normally more self-conscious and it takes a long time for them to come out of there shells. However once their comfortable they can throw banter like this back and forth with the best of them, sometimes better.
There’s a reason why repressed Catholics are crazy. 😛
I don’t remember, and don’t have time to comb the archives at the moment, but has Joyce apologized to Joe for all the punching on their date yet? Y’know, since she’s all about doing the right thing?
That is probably a city Dina would love.
Until she finds out what sort of boning it actually is.
Eventually she’d learn to Dig it.
But only if the boners involved are dino-sized. 😀
What dinosaur are we talking here though? Like small compys or t-rex? Cause…that might require…
I’m just gonna leave that right there and move on.
Dina would like that more.
Here’s the trick: There’s New Bone City, and Old Bone City. Officially they’re both called Bone City.
Dina is all about Old Bone City. This comic? 100% New Bone City.
And again, Joyce being strangely comfortable with colloquialisms for things I’d expect her to be uncomfortable even referencing.
Madness.
Even better is her face in that last panel.
Look at it.
You gaze into the abyss and it gazes back
(name corrected)
Tell me about it; it seems even in this universe, Walky brings out the pervert in Joyce.
Imagine if they went drinking together, she’d turn into Hazel from Girls With Slingshots.
YES
She knows what shipping is. And if you know what shipping is, you probably know what boning… (*thinks back to many fanfics I’ve read written by teenagers*) …okay, you probably have a vague, general idea of what boning is.
It’s where the guy puts “his thingie into [her] you-know-what”, right? *smiles like enoby*
*cringes*
You owe everyone who reads this one new internet for bringing that fic up.
I think I am very glad I don’t get this.
Google “My Immortal.” Go ahead. I dare you.
I pick Truth instead.
These wounds won’t seem to heal, this pain is just too real, there’s just too much that time cannot erase…
Alternately, just read the TV Tropes page for it. You’ll get the idea w/o having to actually “experience” it.
Even if she didn’t know or wanted to think about “Bone City,” I have a feeling she understands what making out is and can just focus on that part of Billie’s suggestion.
Billie launches a new ship, the UUS Hatefuck.
Is it a couples’ cruise? Because Joe & Joyce, Billie and Ruth, and Mike and Everyone want to sign up.
Sailing straight on course to Bone City.
UUS?
Unidentified Unlikely Ship
All roads lead to Bone City.
Alternatively: The road to Bone City is paved with good intentions.
The road to Bone City has heavy risk but the prize….
I thought it was paved in gold … but that might only apply to professionals.
Only if it rains.
The first place you’ll find is a sleaze-pit called Bone City. Now if the earth doesn’t swallow you up first, that place sure as hell will!
Take me down to the fabled bone city…where the grass is green, and the girls are pretty…
If the “grass” is green, you should probably get that seen by a professional.
They could’ve dyed it.
Why you’d WANT to, I dunno, but…
Bone City. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.
Just don’t get sidetracked and stumble your way into Locust country.
We can’t stop here. This is Bone Country!
And while you’re there – don’t listen to a word Phoney Bone says.
Bone City – population, your mom.
Taxes? A nickel.
Economy – A nickel.
The city hospital specializes femurectomies.
But you can’t take my femurs, I need those to live
And reconstructive surgery for your FAAAAAACE.
FAAAAAAAAAAAAACE. With your mom. Or something along those lines.
Mike put his penis in your mom’s FAAAAAAAAACE.
You’re welcome.
For a nickel.
So this was all just a backstory to show Dana is Amazigirl, right?
Now that WOULD BE a twist.
Dana’s been dying her hair. That’s who it is. definitely.
I misread that as Dina at first. A twist on a twist!
I’m so happy you wrote that because I wouldn’t have caught my mistake otherwise.
Dana is Dina! Dana realizes the kindness Sarah’s shown to her (disguised as Dina), and forgives her. The end!
Billie just walked herself right into that one.
But it’s totally different, Billie is tsundere towards Walky while Sarah HATES Raidah.
But does Joyce know the difference? Or, if she does, is she implying something about Billie and Walky or just getting Billie to drop the subject?
BOTH. DEFINITELY BOTH.
Do we get to see this hypothetical implementation of the stabbing of everything, or do you just keep teasing us, Willis?
She keeps promising to stab all the things, but none of the things have been stabbed!!! Except for everyone in Bone City of course, all the things in Bone City have been stabbed, just not with a sharp piece of metal.
They’ve not been stabbed. They’ve been Joe’d.
That just changes the way that they scream.
Gah…
OH GOD
After the Staffordshire branch of The Royal Society for Stabbing All Things declared the whole thing “a bit silly”, stabbing all things quickly went out of fashion. The very latest in stabbing is Stabbing One Single Thing Repeatedly, expected to be included in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Someone needs to do a fan art of Billie stabbing everything.
That’s a lotta fanart.
Technically, all it needs to be is a picture of Billie stabbing Willis.
Can Yotomoe draw it?
What experiences has Billie had?
In shipping or stabbing?
Let’s just say she has a wide array of experience in field of penetration.
So after bieng “stabbed” by so many people she has learned to use it against others?
Evolution just shouldn’t work this way.
In shabbing or stipping?
…Billie, is there something you’d like to say about Ms. Lessik?
“Yes Mistress” comes to mind.
Don’t think of Billie in a maid outfit, don’t think of Ruth in a dominatrix gear. Better yet, don’t think of any fetish at this moment.
Now you’ve done it.
DAMMIT AIZAT!
I’ll jump on that ship for a nickel. And if that ship had a Mom, so would Mike. 😉
The Mothership
So Mike would bone Walkyverse!Billie, then.
Well, it was canon in the Walkyverse…
It’s only a matter of time.
and Booze.
Your avatar makes me happy. I seriously love FE. Also, the thought of the character commenting on same-sex shipping is really funny to me for some reason.
Aww, thanks! She’s my favorite. And you’re right, just imagining Lyn shipping in general is hilarious.

It keeps her connected to her brother. I wouldn’t be surprised if deep down, Sarah fears that she is exactly like him and living a lie of normalcy.
Hard to drop it when the other person approaches you and actively harasses you over it a year later.
/nerdmode
Y’mean a year isn’t six months long? Not damn, I gotta get a new calendar!
Brother???
Yeah, this — what brother?
*read as drop her pants
Joyce’s face in the last panel…
I think.. I think she is plotting something!!! RUN AWAY!!!!
Horny Joyce is horny….
That might actually do more damage to the universe than Billie stabbing all the things.
take me down to bone city, where the grass is green and the bones are dirty.
If the grass is green I’d be a bit worried…
Hey, with the SS WalkyXDorothy(I couldn’t think of a better name) ship is taking in water, SS Billie still has a shot.
Can it please be the USS Dorky?
Am now facepalming my inner nerd for writing USS instead of SS.
Joyce has a point, actually. If you do the right thing regardless of whether or not the other person is being an ass, then you are still doing the right thing.
Actually, she has three points; all on her triangle smile.
I don’t see Dina in the panel. I’m going to assume this means they’ve lost her.
Next week, we find out Dina got bored and wandered off looking for dinosaurs, and Raidah and co. found her.
Dina is actually with another trio of girls entirely.
You mean like Marcie for instance?
no, the heathers. or the kankers…whichever’s worse
The Kankers, if they start teaching her.
I was thinking Charlie’s Angels.
Bone city sounds like the best cheesy porn ever.
A porn parody of Dark City?
Wow, when you think about it SO many fetishes could be catered to with a Dark City porn parody.
I mean… I’m appalled, appalled that this is even being discussed. No, I’m not working on a script as we speak, that would be absurd.
Your print-out, sir.
Sleep now.
(with me.)
Oh, geez I just remembered which one was Mr. Sleep… Abandon joke! Abandon joke!
Man billie would fuck the shit outta walky in a second that’s not even a question
I don’t know what the fuck is the matter with sarah though jesus christ you literally punched someone in the literal fucking face, woman, the fuck is wrong with you?
According to the gospel of Billie, punching leads to scissoring.
so stabbing leads to fondling?
Which leads to hate which leads to suffering…
Which leads to the dark side?
And cookies!
screw it. If they have cookies, I’m TOTALLY going Dark Side.
What does kicking lead to?
Sore feet?
A foot fetish, and all actions associated with it.
Says the sock gravvy…
I think Sarah’s problem is that she doesn’t say ‘fuck’ enough.
Thanks to the Internet, I’m not sure if Billie meant make out as in bury the hatchet or make out as in make out.
Good idea, burying the weapon with the body. Wait, sorry, what were we talking about?
Burying it so deep that they have to bury them with it.
That was mighty savvy of Joyce. I think I might be underselling her the way I keep telling people not to undersell Walky.
Nicely sniped, Joyce.
I honestly would have expected her to freeze up at the idea of hatefucking.
Joyce has already admitted to liking Twilight. And Twilight is a gateway book to True Blood.
And then next, to that abomination called 50 Shades of Grey.
I want to kill you for making me remember anything about that shitstorm of bile, they won’t find your body.
This books sounds *fascinating*.
I really must read it.
That’s still an automatic punchline, right?
They grow up so fast!
Bone City’s Main import is boners…then exports…then imports…
You. I like you.
WE LOVE YOU YOTOMOE STAY WITH US FOREVER
You don’t vacate Bone City. Bone City vacates you!
and then enters you and then vacates you and then…
Is this becoming a running gag? Or a cyclic one?
Both. It’s becoming a running, cyclic gag on the hamster wheel of life, which has become detached from the framework of reality and is rolling down the road towards that dead horse people are always beating for some odd reason.
Wait, we’re in Boner City….that’s not a dead horse!
but it is hung like one.
We should stop beating off this dead horse…
Why would you BEAT a dead horse? 😛
Wait, that’s not rigor mortis!!! The horse isn’t dead yet!
You should never punch people. Violence is never the answer. Because you’re a girl and you can’t hurt people with your violence. That’s why the right thing to do is to hire somebody to do your punching for you. Go apologize to Raidah for the way you insulted her with your grievous breach of punchiquette.

A MIKE Gravatar saying ‘dont punch people’?!!
And again, “methinks she doth protest too much.”
I’m calling it: Joyce/Walky/Dorothy threesome.
This. I’m not sure if the idea horrifies me, or appeals to me.
Either way, this.
THIS. HELL YES.
I’ve been to Bone City, the weather is terrible, and the streets are sticky.
That’s why you should always wear a raincoat if you’re going to Bone City.
It’s subject to ‘flash flooding’.
“Be good, and you will be lonesome.”
-Mark Twain
I was unaware Joyce could innuendo.
insert Evil!Joyce reference here
Everything Joyce says or does is innuendo; she’s just sometimes subtle about it. I mean, that business with the femurs? Oh yeah.
Remember, if it’s only innuendo, you’re still technically a virgin.
Only on Wednesday.

Excusable is different from acceptable. Apologizing is the right thing, because Raidah didn’t punch first or anything. Plus, it’ll leave Sarah with a sense of moral superiority that should last for weeks.
An all-natural high!
That’s a sales pitch I think Sarah would buy!
You, sir, now have my respect. Or disgust. Depends on if the friend deserved it. Eitherway, this.
A joke!… I NEEDED THIS.
Bone City, sister city of Dick City. http://gunshowcomic.com/353
Joyce 1
Billie 0
Am I the only one who read this and started thinking Troll romance?
No, but now that you point it out, yes.
Nope. I thought about it too.
BAD ROMANCE
TROLLMANCE
Did…Joyce just make a sexual reference?
By Billie’s logic she should make out with Ruth. Now that would be a choice, Billie or Walky. That being said I think Joyce is right about apologizing for hitting Raidah because that was uncalled for and perhaps Sarah might want to see someone about her anger problem.
Radiah been calling for it for months, with a loudspeaker. Sarah still could use a formal chill pill, though; she is the one* character that we’ve seen react to problems with violence. I mean, awesome as it was, that was a baseball bat she was using that time.

The one character? Even leaving Amazi-girl out of it, Joe would like to have a word about his date with Joyce. (Which, as somebody pointed out upthread, makes it ironic that Joyce is the one saying that you should apologize for hitting people.)
Ruth probably has a couple things to say about a certain cheerleader’s floor meeting conduct as well.
Gotta give Joyce credit for finally redeeming herself and sticking by good principles.
You can always tell which girl on the playground likes you. She’s the one throwing rocks at you from the other end!
Sorry Joyce, I think you’re shipping the wrong Walkerton with Billie for her tastes.
Nah, Billie is bisexual, so…
*compares Billie’s perception of Walky to her perception of Sal*
…Never mind. Wrong Walkerton indeed.
I like how everyone passed on the fact that Sarah said she’s “vacating” Bone City
Which implies she’s had residence there before and is now leaving.
EWWW
I noticed that and wasn’t gonna say anything, but now…
But…
Bone City needs you, Sara!
Is… is that something OTHER than complete innocence in Joyce’s Reaction?
I feel that joy that only comes when you view the first tarnished spot on something pure …
Oh, I read this comic and pressed “random”, it showed me another comic about Joyce shipping Walky with Billie 😀
<— Mayor of Bone City.
Can’t fight city hall.
Ooohhhhh … can I be the Sheriff?
Who ‘shot’ the Sheriff in the face has a whole new meaning in this city. 😀
I really, really worry about anybody who wants the job of county coroner, though.
That would be my first wife.
Boner City? Isn’t that right next to Cooter Canyon? I hear Mike set up shop there on Your Mom Street. Amazingly, the rent was a nickel.
Actually,I read that it was closer to Dick City, which has been trying to annex Cooter Canyon for years.
Another alternative might have been switching rooms with one of the other girls… if they liked her that much they would’ve said yes.
Well, maybe Sarah can get a job with her ex-friend’s father later on.
if they were really as good friends as they said of course, and don’t place too much on the common sense of status quo.
Of the major characters I can think of?

PREMARITAL HANKY-PANKY!!!
Just getting it out of my system.
Bone City: your getaway destination for all your Hatefucking needs.
I don’t remember, and don’t have time to comb the archives at the moment, but has Joyce apologized to Joe for all the punching on their date yet? Y’know, since she’s all about doing the right thing?
That was different. There was a prior understanding that impure thoughts = punching
Her fists were instruments of the Lord if I remember her attitude at the time.
So I am assuming Joyce apologized to Joe offscreen.
As noted above, those were the fists of God. And when God punches you, he doesn’t apologize to you; you have to apologize to him.
Billy is very self-aware Jackson. She’s so self aware that she hasn’t time to be aware of much else.
…this is the second time Billie’s brought up lesbian sex to Joyce…
Joyce made a comment about sex, and it wasn’t about premarital hanky panky.
I’m impressed.
We finally get to see your long alluded plans for Sarah! ::squees:: (but manly like)
ah, the return of evil-joyce
And then Billie’s phrase took on a whole new meaning….
YES!
And all this time later (SPOILERS!) this remains highly amusing considering what’s going to happen to Ruth and Billie
I know, right? Sudden foreshadowing!
BURN!FREAKING BURN! Joyce my respect for you has just went up.
Billie is surprisingly similar to a female Joe at times.
