Anything can be a “pre-law” major, but political science, criminal justice, and history are among the common ones. (Back in the day, the pre-laws I knew picked majors they thought they’d get really good GPAs with.) As far as I know we aren’t aware of what Sarah’s or Jacob’s actual majors are, and they might not have even declared one yet.
You’re not wrong. I studied archaeology and got bombarded with offers of a free ride to law school. Decent schools, too: Rutgers, Temple, Case Western… to this day I wonder if my life might have been more successful if I’d taken that ride.
6ft 2 inches doesn’t feel extremely tall to me, but I’m admittedly 6’7 personally I wouldn’t class “extreme” as below 6’5 which is essentially the height minimum for basketball scouts to look at you. Maybe Lucy’s just really short. A lot of the girls are small in DoA.
Walky is 5’6” (66 inches) and his eyes are level with the pink band on her hat when they are looking directly at each other (slightly taller than Lucy). Therefore, I shall estimate Lucy to be (15/16) of a Walky or 61.875 inches. Lucy comes up to Jacob’s pecs and so is about (6/8) of a Jacob (so yes he is about 1.3 Lucy’s). Therefore, Jacob is approximately (8/6)*(61.875 inches) or …
I did a photo shoot with my now-husband’s nuclear family shortly before we got engaged. The photographer gave me a box to stand on. They didn’t give my then-15 year old future sister in law one… When we started dating, she was 11 and I was taller than her (just about).
My husband is 6’7″, his brothers are 6’6″ and 6’5″, their mum’s 6’2″… I’m not sure if his sister finished up at 6’0″ or 6’1″. I usually say I’m 5’2″ but I think I’m 5’1.5″ really…
Rodage per hogshead is going to vary by average speed and also stop and go driving will decrease your rodage even faster. To be precise you need to specify 40 rods to the hogshead at a specified number of furlongs per fortnight.
I don’t know, but speaking as someone who is 4’11”, I feel those first two panels. I used to work with a guy who was 7’2″. Conversations were easier if both of us were sitting.
Joe is 6 feet tall. 5280 feet per mile.
Miles to km is within 1% of the golden ratio, so I use that to approximate.
6/5280 * 1.618 =
Joe is around 0.001839 km tall.
correction, Shortpacked Joe was 6 feet, this Joe is estimated at 6 feet, 3 inches. an inch is 2.54 cm. Joe is approximately 0.001839 km and 7.62 cm tall. Jacob is in the same “height category“, or Jacob is about an inch taller.
The metric system of prefixes is perfectly rational, but then those sneaky French instituted a whole new set of arbitrary base units instead of using common ones.
We could have had deca-pints instead two-liter bottles.
Willis has admitted he isn’t super specific with heights, only height relative to other characters. So if I had to hazard a guess, Jake’s ~6’5 since that’s generally the “extremely tall” mark and Lucy’s about 5’3ish. They look like there’s about a foot and some change between them
I took measurements and although I had to do some estimates because their feet are obscured: Assuming Lucy is roughly 5′ 6″ tall, then Jacob would be about 6′ 7″ tall.
It comes off just a little weird here since Sarah’s been openly hostile to her and doesn’t elect to spend time with her. Though I suppose Malaya was the same way and Lucy probably considers her a friend too.
I think part of the issue is that Sarah *was* a bit nicer before she got with Walky. I don’t think it’s any kind of jealousy, but I do think Sarah initially kind of treated her like Dorothy, a little smidge of respect in a “this girl is an academic like me” kind of way.
The Walky romance impacted her opinion of her in a negative fashion, probably because she views her position as a certain level of pathetic.
That’s where I see the big change, when Lucy, who is always nice to everyone decides to be a cop to Sarah. She’s mostly ambivalent to Lucy before that, sometimes annoyed when she presumes to get to personal. If that phrase makes sense.
Oof. Didn’t think to factor that in. Kind makes considering herself Sarah’s friend after weaponizing opinions from her known enemy a bit messed up. Kind of dark.
Yeah, I don’t hate Lucy, but there’s a difference between “I am teasing you because we’re friends and that’s how that works” and “I expect you to disappear from the friend group soon, and it won’t be soon enough” that she’s kind of glossing over here.
In this case, it comes off just as much as her trolling Sarah. I don’t think Lucy’s that naive, it’s just another demonstration that Sarah’s bitter defensiveness is just as exploitable as she thinks her happiness is
Sal once called Joyce “Pollyanna”, but Lucy is probably every bit as apt to be compared to Pollyanna.
Pollyanna wasn’t naive or stupid, she was *defiant* in her positivity. It was an active decision to forge onward with positivity, and Lucy does that, too, in her way.
I feel more like Lucy’s trying to prove Sarah wrong. She didn’t immediately vanish from the group when her relationship with Walky imploded, so she’s proving that she can still be in the friend group without being Walky’s +1.
Which tbf to Lucy (which I know I’m usually not), while she DID hang around BECAUSE she wanted to be close to Walky, she HAD been trying to get close to the rest of the group.
Basically, she’s going “You said being mean to me means I’m your friend? I’m calling your bluff.”
Which in one sense is cool of her, though it also reflects how desperate she is to have friends.
In another though, it means she’s pushing herself into direct contact with Walky at a time when it’s best for both of them to have a bit of space. Or pushing him out of his friend group to make space for her.
Lucy may be a manipulative, underhanded, selfish, violent, murderous stalker who’s a danger to herself, her friends, and her country, but I think she has a good point today.
We haven’t seen violent and murderous yet, I think. But the rest fits her behaviour. It doesn’t mean it is the only possible explanation of her behaviour, but it is a perfectly valid option.
I rate this as about 40% meaner than what people typically actually say, but absolutely necessary to drive home the point that you weren’t being serious, because 20% meaner would only be an outlier. There should be zero people calling Lucy a manipulative creepy narcissist (used in the Hollywood pejorative sense), And Yet.
Yep, I have definitely enjoyed the last couple of strips, and a huge chunk of the reason is this rapport between Lucy and Sarah. However we got here, I like it.
After everything that happened, does Lucy still consider herself part of the group?
It seems to me that he wants to dismantle certain things and add details at his convenience and vent in an unhealthy way.
I do think she considers herself in, like we saw her interacting with them outside of the context of Walky, and I mean, she goes to church with Becky, who she knew from work well before dating Walky.
I think it’s possible she’s kind of laying it on in defiance, wanting to prove a point to Sarah.
I like Lucy as a character foil to Sarah. They have similarly childish and reductive views of the world, just with polar opposite approaches to how they approach it
“Oh you decided that you don’t like me and that I’m not part of the group? You better get ready buddy, I’m gonna a friend you so hard your grandchildren are going to feel it”.
it’s not that she _wants_ to
it’s that she thinks she already _is_, by her own definition
and it’s part of her self-image
so she’s seeing through glasses that have it as a special coating
im kinda surprised by how… positive lucy’s being about sarah. all of their limited interactions have been antagonistic towards one another since the raidah lunch. i cant tell if its supposed to be “kill them with kindness” on lucy’s part or if she’s trying to help set sarah up with jacob in an attempt to prove that she does belong in the group even if she’s not with walky
We should consider some more positive reasons: having been recently confronted with fact that she’d been living under the false impression that Walky was in love with her, and having felt true backhanded disdain from the Walkertons, Lucy is questioning her assumptions and trying to see people for who they really are behind the facades. Maybe she remembers some of Sarah’s poorly delivered advice for dealing with the Walkertons. Maybe she remembers Walky’s defense of Sarah at that brunch. Maybe Lucy is trying to see more nuance and shades of gray in people now. Maybe unfiltered honesty is appealing to her right now, even if it hurts a little.
Maybe, like George Costanza, the part of her brain that was only thinking about sex has been freed up and she is now operating and reasoning with the full 100% of her brain 🙂
I’ve been really ambivalent about the concept of Lucy/Jacob and unsure about Sarah/Jacob, but now you have my attention. Insert Pacific Rim “keep talking” meme.
Like I don’t know why exactly (only PART of it can be my bias towards More Queer), but that idea is way more appealing to me X3 it’s cuter in my head.
It helps that Lucy and Sarah in this strip are being v cute. But I like the idea of Lucy and Jacob working together to counter Sarah’s grump, and having each other to cuddle with when Sarah reaches her quota of Human Socialization and needs time to decompress and recharge.
It strikes me that Lucy is doing the non-hyperbolic version of what Joyce tried to do way back when, as well. She’s fully aware that Sarah has stopped running and is there — check out her eyes in panel 4.
Not gonna lie, I thought Lucy *hated* Sarah after that Raidah incident, but now I’m not so sure. Is she doing niceness jujitsu to be a friend, or to win/prove a point?
That’s what I’m wondering like, it’s one thing to exist around her when your other friends are about but she’s actually saying she’s Sarah’s friend… And I don’t think (or hope) she’s not that manipulative to do niceness jiujutsu
Man petarded is a word that makes you do a double take. Like a certain word that is very similar to snicker but spelled with two Gs instead, that i feel like I’ll get auto flagged for typing
My theory is that Willis carefully crafts different comics to go to different people. But all the resulting comments go into the same section. Then it sounds like people are reading completely different comics BECAUSE THEY REALLY ARE!
I mean that’s the point of a soap opera. I got some of my first blood pressure spikes watching desperate housewives as a young teen. I still have beef with Susan…
Soap operas are basically the narrative fiction version of Buzzfeed clickbait, celebrity gossip mags, or predatory online ads. Remember, the origin of the term was all when shows started airing that were designed specifically to get housewives to watch TV, so they would get exposed to soap & other domestic product ads. It’s easy to scoff sometimes at how unsubtle these things are in their attempts to grab and hold people’s attention, but the simple truth is, subtlety isn’t everything! Sometimes, all you really need is efficiency, instead! Whenever I’m bored or stressed and want to refocus my entire emotional brain on something inconsequential for a while, queer soap operas like DoA, QC, or SP tend to be PERFECT for the job.
And THAT is why you will see people writing 1,000 word comment chains to each other passionately arguing about, like, whether or not Lucy was right to break up with Walky, or something.
I mean, yeah, they’re probably broken up, but she also would not have used Walky as the reason even when dating because that was specifically a point of contention. Sarah said she was just there for Walky, and Lucy disagreed, so this is what she would have said a few days ago, too.
Honestly, it really depends on what kind of long-term plan you think Lucy has, if she has one at all.
Best case: Lucy’s in this thing to try to train Sarah to be less of a complete abrasive prat, because she sees that deep down in there Sarah’s got a core of “actually a pretty okay human being” underneath the performative hatred for all humankind (and actual hatred of Radiah).
I don’t really buy that unless Willis is basically slashing and burning the character. Like, there’d basically be no coming back from that, her being turned into a manipulative snake.
Never had mine stolen, but a few semi-acquaintances in some servers did, and they usually got theirs back before too long. The ones who didn’t had to make new ones, and I’m sure rebuilding from zero sucked at first, but as long as you didn’t share too much personal info with random people, you should be alright there at least. The hacker shouldn’t be able to impersonate you and trick other people either, since you have a very distinct way of communicating. I’d also flag any outgoing PayPal transactions you made as fraudulent, to cover your ass on that front and hopefully get your money back. That’s more important than the account, I think.
Ouch… Fell for a hack? Happens to the best of us
If you didn’t have 2FA on before and the hacker turned it on then you’re shit outta luck, sorry. How I lost my account .-.
Idk if they can change your 2FA contact or app if you already had it on, but if they got control of it then discord will tell you there’s nothing they can do. Bc they aren’t capable of messing with the 2FA, which I think is fucking dumb.
If the hacker doesn’t have control of your 2FA you can gather what evidence you have of account ownership and go through discord customer service. I’d start preparing for bad new though.
Really sorry bout this homie, it’s a shitty situation. If you have your friends usernames or on other apps, or still have access to the discord app even though someone else has control over it, you can add them back on a new account and they can let you in to your old servers and stuff.
Good luck, hope it goes better for you than me.
Oh and if it was via a virus hack and not just email and password leak, you’ve probably already done something like this but get a good anti-malware (Malwarebytes is my personal favorite) and do a scan to make sure you scrub it clean
Someone impersonating a discord employee said I’d get my account restricted for being friends with someone involved in “financial fraud” in reference to a fake help ticket unless I did what they said.
I didn’t know it was a scam until it was too late. In a state of panic, they had me send them screenshots of recent paypal transactions via DM, all of my paypal balance, and change my discord email to “prove my innocence”.
How do I know whether or not they’ve turned on 2FA on my account? Looking at the state of my hacked account via my backup account on servers i joined, it doesn’t seem to have been online since the hack.
I think Lucy misread why Sarah tried to help her. First, telling her she was an interloper wasn’t the trying to help part, it was tit-for-tat. Telling her not to put up with racism from a boyfriend’s parents was trying to help. And it seemed a lot like a “would not wish that on the most annoying person I’ve ever met” sort of helping.
Oh no, “Lucy The Matchmaker” is becoming more and more a possibility. Sarah could be pushed to become a more sympathetic character! But luckily, there’s still hope for Jacob and Lucy to date and see Sarah go through a jealousy storm that will sign the end of poor Lucy.
how lawyers weasel-word their way into (or out of?) friendships
This interaction is pretty adorable.
Lawyers don’t have friendships, they have contracts of alliance.
My father-in-law was a lawyer. He’s also my mother-in-law’s ex-husband, for a reason.
My grampa was a lawyer.
He was a good man before senility stripped everything from him.
I am so sorry. That is awful.
In fairness, Sarah is mean to her enemies too.
She can also be mean to strangers.
Really struggling to think of a sort of person she isn’t mean to.
Joyce
No, she’s mean to Joyce, too. Spilling that Joyce has started masturbating wasn’t nice, Joyce just lets her be mean.
True.
But sarah said she was mean to her friends after being mean to her.
She also said they weren’t friends in the same sentence.
Dina. Mostly. There was the rebound thing but otherwise they’re chill
prolly some of the college profs but other than needing a one on one consultation i can’t imagine most rly bother other than exchanging pleasantries/greetings versus just showing up to class and not rly talking/interacting otherwise
No, no. She’s *violent* towards her enemies.
Lucy attorney at law
Outlawyering the Law Student.
She’s more like Birdgirl than Harvey.
Who’s the Phil Ken Sebben? Or the Peter Potamus? (Didja get that thing they sentcha?)
I’m pretty sure this is a pop culture reference. Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure I don’t want to know.
Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law
Ha-HA! Semi-obscure pop culture references on dowels!
(Seriously, go find some episodes of Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. Of all the first-generation Williams Street / Adult Swim shows that aren’t Space Ghost Coast to Coast, I think it holds up the best / least cringey. At the very least, it isn’t “you had to be there” the way ATHF and Sealab 2021 are.)
…Are we sure Lucy’s not pre-law? Maybe she’ll change majors.
Sarah’s still hanging by close enough to hear Jucy’s non-shouted conversation. Hm.
“Jucy”. … yup, okay, I’m calling that the correct ship name.
“Pre-law” isn’t a major – it’s merely a statement that your goal is to get admitted to a law school when you graduate undergraduate school. (It’s similar to”pre-med” that way.) Anything can be a “pre-law” major, but political science, criminal justice, and history are among the common ones.
Decent schools, too: Rutgers, Temple, Case Western… to this day I wonder if my life might have been more successful if I’d taken that ride.
well so much for “maybe daylight savings will set the post clock back to the top of the hour”
(iirc nobody has ever figured out what sets and resets the posting clock, right?)
My theory is that it’s part of the Hivekeeper’s job, but they get paid the same no matter how frequently it gets done.
According to Willis (on their DoA tumblr) Hiveworks has to reset it.
This is like Lucy’s best line ever
Interesting, innit? Suddenly Lucy is awash in logic and chill.
Yeah, some people just respond better in some circumstances and worse in others. Good writing on Willis’ part here, I’d say.
How tall is Jake I wonder?
I’m going to say 6’2ish?
6ft 2 inches doesn’t feel extremely tall to me, but I’m admittedly 6’7 personally I wouldn’t class “extreme” as below 6’5 which is essentially the height minimum for basketball scouts to look at you. Maybe Lucy’s just really short. A lot of the girls are small in DoA.
My instinct was 6’4 but if I recall correctly Carla’s like 5’11 and he’s not that much taller than her.
I mostly imagine Joyce/Lucy and Joe/Jacob having extremely similar silhouettes. “Who’s That College Student?” is impossible when they get pulled.
Looks like about 1.3 Lucys.
Or, if you’re on the metric system, 1.1 Jasons.
I’ll stick with the Lucy system. I’m American; we’ll do anything to avoid Metric.
Heh. I remember very clearly those two weeks in 1976 when we dabbled in metric…
5’6″
Walky is 5’6” (66 inches) and his eyes are level with the pink band on her hat when they are looking directly at each other (slightly taller than Lucy). Therefore, I shall estimate Lucy to be (15/16) of a Walky or 61.875 inches. Lucy comes up to Jacob’s pecs and so is about (6/8) of a Jacob (so yes he is about 1.3 Lucy’s). Therefore, Jacob is approximately (8/6)*(61.875 inches) or …
82.5 inches AKA 6’10.5”
If Jacob’s 6’10 then Sarah must be over 6ft based on her relative size to him.
Sounds like what I assumed. Or is that my “very tall family members” bias kicking in again?
I did a photo shoot with my now-husband’s nuclear family shortly before we got engaged. The photographer gave me a box to stand on. They didn’t give my then-15 year old future sister in law one… When we started dating, she was 11 and I was taller than her (just about).

I’ll never get used to calculations that require switching bases.
My car gets 40 rods to the hogshead and that’s the way I likes it!
I’d say your car has a fuel leak.
Rodage per hogshead is going to vary by average speed and also stop and go driving will decrease your rodage even faster. To be precise you need to specify 40 rods to the hogshead at a specified number of furlongs per fortnight.
I’m going 2ith very.
With. Hate typing on my tablet.
We hope you and Very are extremely happy together.
And if that doesn’t work out, that you and Extremely are very happy together.
I don’t know, but speaking as someone who is 4’11”, I feel those first two panels. I used to work with a guy who was 7’2″. Conversations were easier if both of us were sitting.
*openning Google to translate measures to common metric system*

They BOTH have Sarah’s number.
… which is odd, given, Sarah probably hasn’t given either of them her number. Maybe they got it from Joyce.
This made me giggle
Sarah has her number tattooed on her forehead and pretends she doesn’t.
There Lucy goes again, assuming people like her more than they actually do.
It comes off just a little weird here since Sarah’s been openly hostile to her and doesn’t elect to spend time with her. Though I suppose Malaya was the same way and Lucy probably considers her a friend too.
With everything she’s been through recently, you’d think she’d really reconsider, but I remember this is Dumbing Of Age.
I think part of the issue is that Sarah *was* a bit nicer before she got with Walky. I don’t think it’s any kind of jealousy, but I do think Sarah initially kind of treated her like Dorothy, a little smidge of respect in a “this girl is an academic like me” kind of way.

Lucy is friendly but not nice.
i think Nice, but not so good.
Lawful Neutral
Yeah, I don’t hate Lucy, but there’s a difference between “I am teasing you because we’re friends and that’s how that works” and “I expect you to disappear from the friend group soon, and it won’t be soon enough” that she’s kind of glossing over here.

I see this less “assuming Sarah like her” and more “overpowering Sarah hostility with sheer friendliness” which honestly is just funny to see.
She’s succeeding too, in a way.
Joyce walked so Lucy could run.
Her and Walky have that in common. Maybe they could start dating.
Walky goes more “irreverent” rather that friendly but yeah.
What’s worse: Lucy don’t knowing this, or her KNOWING this?
This is an interaction i wasn’t expecting, but i like it!
Hey remember when Jacob said the checklist was gonna incorporate more Joyce going forward
Jucy! JUCY! JUCY!!
THICCCCCCCC
Lucy may be a manipulative, underhanded, selfish, violent, murderous stalker who’s a danger to herself, her friends, and her country, but I think she has a good point today.
Not sure where you’re getting this stuff.
It’s a meme, look at the name and ridiculous Lucy gravatar.
The comic.
We haven’t seen violent and murderous yet, I think. But the rest fits her behaviour. It doesn’t mean it is the only possible explanation of her behaviour, but it is a perfectly valid option.
r/whoosh.
Don’t forget that time she literally threw a baby down a well
Some say you can still hear it crying on the way down during a thunderstorm.
The baby had it coming.
so did the well

NGL this is cute
+1. I’m not a Lucy fan at *all*, but I love how she’s poking Sarah with Sarah’s own pokey stick.
The Sarah Magic Pokey Stick™! Capable of annoying the crap out of a person at… sounds like… about fifty yards!
Can we start calling Sarah’s own pokey stick “other other Jacob” please?
this is very cute. love both of these two! Lucy feels more assertive to me after the break up.
I don’t want to be a spoilsport, but it seems like she’s looking for possible “mischief” with her good girl facade.
i think mischief is too honest and self aware.
Its just passive aggressive self justifcation. She sees herself as always sweet so her motives are beyond reproach
Heaven save us from the righteous.
Yep, I have definitely enjoyed the last couple of strips, and a huge chunk of the reason is this rapport between Lucy and Sarah. However we got here, I like it.
After everything that happened, does Lucy still consider herself part of the group?

*she wants to dismantle
I do think she considers herself in, like we saw her interacting with them outside of the context of Walky, and I mean, she goes to church with Becky, who she knew from work well before dating Walky.
I think it’s possible she’s kind of laying it on in defiance, wanting to prove a point to Sarah.
I guess, at least Walky’s not an excuse anymore
“everything that happened”?
She (probably) broke up with Walky. Pretty amicably. That’s not much of an “everything”.
Okay, I actually love seeing Sarah being unable to escape Lucy friendliness. That is very funny.
Lucy will certainly kill her with kindness.
Kindness is Sarah’s Kryptonite.
fortunately, Lucy only knows niceness.
Which is also Sarah’s Kryptonite. Sarah has a lot of kryptonites.
So does Superman. I mean it comes in green, red, gold, white, pink, and more each with its own effect.
not to mention blue, anti-, X-, and crystal
–Dave, ask me about why the DC Universe got broken
I like Lucy as a character foil to Sarah. They have similarly childish and reductive views of the world, just with polar opposite approaches to how they approach it
You know what? Lucy/Sarah would be amazing until the inevitable explosion.
Lucy is growing stronger by the day.
The hate only make her more powerful!
I knew she was from the dark side! EVIL!
Lucy really understands Sarah
ok that was hilarious
I honestly have no idea why Lucy wants to be friends with Sarah.
Spite
LMAO YOU’RE SO RIGHT
“Oh you decided that you don’t like me and that I’m not part of the group? You better get ready buddy, I’m gonna a friend you so hard your grandchildren are going to feel it”.
“The first words out of their mouths will be Aunty Lucy!”
NAILED IT.
it’s not that she _wants_ to
it’s that she thinks she already _is_, by her own definition
and it’s part of her self-image
so she’s seeing through glasses that have it as a special coating
I wasn’t aware that augmented reality had come into common use.
whoops, dammit report link
she is far from common
so tall
Sarah should set them up together.
She just did.
im kinda surprised by how… positive lucy’s being about sarah. all of their limited interactions have been antagonistic towards one another since the raidah lunch. i cant tell if its supposed to be “kill them with kindness” on lucy’s part or if she’s trying to help set sarah up with jacob in an attempt to prove that she does belong in the group even if she’s not with walky
All of the above
I ship it, but then again I’m like Amber in that I ship everything that moves, so
Sarah moved fast to avoid the shipping XD
A foolish mistake. That just draws their attention. The only way to avoid the shippers is to freeze.
Nah, who am I kidding? That doesn’t work either.
…and that’s when the ship comes…
*woosh*
… from the sides! From the two ships you didn’t even know were there.
Throuple! Throuple! Throuple!
Ooooooh.
THROUPLE! THROUPLE! THROUPLE! THROUPLE!
It strikes me that Lucy is doing the non-hyperbolic version of what Joyce tried to do way back when, as well. She’s fully aware that Sarah has stopped running and is there — check out her eyes in panel 4.
Maybe Lucy should be pre-law.
Is… is this a meet-cute? Is this what a meet-cute looks like?
… Lucob? …Jacy? … I’m bad at this, aren’t I?
Jucy.
*Juicy
Not gonna lie, I thought Lucy *hated* Sarah after that Raidah incident, but now I’m not so sure. Is she doing niceness jujitsu to be a friend, or to win/prove a point?
Probably a little of both, honestly.
That’s what I’m wondering like, it’s one thing to exist around her when your other friends are about but she’s actually saying she’s Sarah’s friend… And I don’t think (or hope) she’s not that manipulative to do niceness jiujutsu
I’m hoping that Lucy has gained +1 wisdom and is trying to see past assumptions and facades to see people for who they really are.
Being petarded is a lesser known system of Butts Disease.
the side-effects of ignited flatulence
Man petarded is a word that makes you do a double take. Like a certain word that is very similar to snicker but spelled with two Gs instead, that i feel like I’ll get auto flagged for typing
you have to read it slowly
and even then
you can get
hoist by your own ritard
“She is my friend”
“Does she know that?”
“WHY DOES EVERYONE ASK THAT?”
The comment sections on DoA are always so fascinating. I genuinely never knew people got this worked up about soap operas.
You obviously never saw grandmas religiously watching imported South American soap operas. They were for them what football was to men.
*gasps in telenovela*
My theory is that Willis carefully crafts different comics to go to different people. But all the resulting comments go into the same section. Then it sounds like people are reading completely different comics BECAUSE THEY REALLY ARE!
It explains everything.
Conspicuously NOT saying you are part of her friend group “because you are dating Walky”
( Walky you are now super dumped. dont look back )
Didnt sarah say You werent part of her firend group because Dating Walky wouldnt last a week ?
Lucy you need to rescue Joyce , date her or get kidnapped with her ,
I mean, yeah, they’re probably broken up, but she also would not have used Walky as the reason even when dating because that was specifically a point of contention. Sarah said she was just there for Walky, and Lucy disagreed, so this is what she would have said a few days ago, too.
Oh no, being held to my own rules! My only weakness!
Freakin’ loopholes!
I’m…. Confused
I thought Lucy didn’t like Sarah? All her interactions with Sarah were overtly negative and she expressed that..
Like why does she consider herself Sarah’s friend??
This seems pretty strange to me
At this point it’s a competition and neither will back down
Honestly, it really depends on what kind of long-term plan you think Lucy has, if she has one at all.
Best case: Lucy’s in this thing to try to train Sarah to be less of a complete abrasive prat, because she sees that deep down in there Sarah’s got a core of “actually a pretty okay human being” underneath the performative hatred for all humankind (and actual hatred of Radiah).
It’s not so mysterious. Lucy’s just enjoying a little turnabout on Sarah, using Sarah’s own words and logic
The fact that she needs to strong-arm being her friend is so depressing it hurts a little
Doesn’t basically EVERYONE need to strong-arm being Sarah’s friend though?
Yeah Joyce did the same thing, it only worked so well bc they live together. Sarah couldn’t escape
I’m not sure about this Cyrano de Bergerac adaptation
just TAKE the popcorn and _watch_
Mmmm. Popcorn!
Just hope the title character doesn’t turn his head suddenly. He’ll take ’em both out.
You’re being too nice to Sarah Lucy. You need to be seducing this man to break her.
She’s working on it. Give her time.
Willis like “goddammit I drew this background and y’all are going to look at the whole friggin thing”
She’s got ya there, Sarah!
The downside of being mean to everyone around you: how will anyone know when you really don’t like someone?
Well, well, well, if it isn’t my own petard.
Way to hoist ’em girl!
🤭
Lucy is being Minnesota nice here. Being Sarah’s friend is her ticket to Jacob. Who is a nice contrast to Walky.
Honestly that’s like saying that the easiest route to the prince is through the crocodile and sharks moat.
Not really. I feel like being openly annoyed by Sarah would be more successful with Jake here, given he’s clearly getting frustrated with her
And Lucy’s poking fun at her, which is a way for him to vent that frustration a little bit
I don’t really buy that unless Willis is basically slashing and burning the character. Like, there’d basically be no coming back from that, her being turned into a manipulative snake.
I know it’s not relevant to the strip but,
Has anyone here ever gotten their discord account stolen? Did any of you get them back?
I could really really use the assurance right now. 😖
Thank you >~<. Re: PayPal, getting on that right now.
BTW can you please friend me on my backup discord? It's the first four letters of my old handle + _backup
That’s the thing, it wasn’t a virus.
