I find that if I make the tiniest, stupidest mistake, like leaving out the closing quote, the parser junks. Which it should, really. But having no way to test or correct code is a bit of a trial.
well it’s a very ace reaction that draws your attention to her shirt. I can identify so much; so many fictional plotlines confused the heck out of me because the characters didn’t seem to see not having sex as an option. Like, can’t you at least wait until you’re away from the people trying to kill you and find somewhere comfy?
As an aside, back when Willis posted the model pre-storyline and did the ‘and here’s the shirt at Meijer this is based off of,’ the sleeve stripes weren’t ace colors. This is an INTENTIONAL Ace Shirt. And also I want it, it’s awesome.
You’re probably already familiar with the rainbow flag as a gay pride symbol, at least vaguely. People have selected flags to represent a lot of other non-traditional sexual orientations as well. Details are available at https://outrightinternational.org/content/flags-lgbtiq-community.
OK I understand that this is an exciting development for a lot of people but I kiiinda think it’s a bad sign that she’s wearing this shirt immediately after sleeping with her decidedly non-ace girlfriend for the first time?
A quick Google search for “do asexual people have sex” comes back with “Some asexual people engage in sexual activity despite lacking sexual attraction or a desire for sex, due to a variety of reasons, such as a desire to pleasure themselves or romantic partners, or a desire to have children.”
Dina seemed to want to have sex more because Robin did rather than because of her own hormones. It seems like, romantically, she’d want to make Robin happy, and wasn’t necessarily disgusted by sex, just not overtly desiring it herself. Just a guess, of course.
I’m on the spectrum myself so I’m going to counter Dina by adding:
She forgot hormones. The brain has several lizardy parts still in it that respond on a more primal level so it can take a LOT of will power at times to go, “No, bad brain, we are not doing x action”
Yeah but Dina’s right when she says if they don’t want to have sex, they are totally capable of stopping themselves (I mean step one would’ve been to not be both lying in one bed). The problem is that they do want to have sex.
Yep. While I, as a normal heterosexual male with fairly typical sexual urges, understand where they’re coming from, Dina is right, you guys. Unless you have a sex addiction (which if you do, trust me, you’ll know), the conscious mind can always, ALWAYS, control these urges. To claim otherwise is to acknowledge that creeps who sexually harass others because “I couldn’t control myself, they’re just too sexy” are right.
Actually, she’s really wrong. Decisions like that are made by your model of yourself which the committee of very different brainparts that actually run things have learned to pay some attention to, but not when it matters.
As a sexual compulsive myself, I can say compulsive behavior is a behavior, not an addiction. You can’t stop, not because of a chemical imbalance, but because you want sex more than you want your marriage, your job, your health, your safety, or your life.
Hey fun (not even slightly) and disturbing fact Asperger was a nazi scientist trying to figure out which autistic people were worthy of living and thus we should 100% stop using this term because it’s not just problematic to have the “high functioning”/”low functioning” distinction, but because it’s literally also immortalizing the name and efforts of a literal original nazi eugenicist.
Asperger was, at the barebones, a eugenicist and a Nazi. That (completely setting aside the low/high functioning thing!) should be all the explanation needed to move away from his specific legacy — misrepresentation or no.
Yeah, very good on Dina for calling a spade a spade and sticking up for her education.
Because what the actual shit, Amber!? You want your roommate to skip out on her MIDTERM because of you and Walky’s lack of self control? There had best be an apology coming to Dina at some point in the near future. One’s been due awhile now, but this is beyond ridiculous.
That is so not at all implied by what Amber said. You can be human and not understand how human brains work. Most people, in fact, fit this description, due to a lack of psychoeducation.
Amber owes Dina many apologies, including for getting Dina involved with her shitty love life and her double life as a vigilante. Dina can pull a Sarah and ditch Amber.
Well, for a couple with one penis and one vulva between them, you put the erect penis between the labia (with lube, I suggest) and rub the clitoris against the penis while rubbing the glans penis with the pudendal cleft. The best method in my opinion is in reverse-cowgirl, clitoris to frenulum, the person with a vulva controlling pace and pressure. It’s very common heterosexual foreplay, and a popular subject for porn.
Yes. Dry humping as I know it means through clothes. There may be wetness inside clothes, but not fluid mixing. The above described sexual act would be what is known on Pornhub as a “pussyjob.” Or, if you’re like me and think of sexual acts in queer ways, it’s frottage. Just clit-penis frottage instead of penis-penis.
I wonder if any of these words will get snagged by the censor.
Sure. Main groin grinding against a soft-firm object, like a butt. Or lying down and letting a girl’s butt or crotch grind on your groin, like a lap dance.
I wasn’t considering butt usage. Yeah, I can see that working. Although, through pants, that still seems like it would be kinda chafey for the guy. But maybe I underestimate the resilience of male anatomy?
When I think of dry humping, I’m usually visualizing the lesbian version – making out with a thigh between your partner’s legs, mirrored by both parties, so both can rub one out. Aka tribbing, but worse.
Actually, both of the above remind me very much of high school/early college. Both the actions and the mediocrity.
You can do oral non-penetratively. You just gotta get to the center of the tootsie pop the long way.
But I will also fully admit that I took non-penetrative to mean “no vaginal or anal penetration”. I’ve never really thought of blow jobs as being penetrative… more envelopment?
Um, not quite. While tongue-kissing (“Frenching”) is quite literally “oral”, the latter term is usually not applied to that but to fellatio and/or cunnilingus.
Yeah, that’s what I thought, which is why I corrected myself. Cunnilingus needn’t be penetrative, but fellatio typically is. Admittedly, you can do non-penetrative fellatio, but it’s not as much fun. YMMV
I’m just ready for them to boink so we can get past this “will they or won’t they’ we’ve sat through what feels like ages. I don’t like them as a couple, but if this is going to happen, I’d rather it just happen. Cause the sooner they boink, the sooner they (hopefully) will become interesting or part ways.
She also wore a shirt about boners without realising what it was. I’m careful with interpreting her clothes. And most ace and pro sex people I know have sex for the partner. It’s not something they actively want but something they do for their significant other. They could do without it just fine. Dina seems to actively want it.
The shirt this was based off of that Willis posted a pic of on Twitter months back had different sleeve stripes, so I’ve been assuming this was intentional from a meta perspective because he chose to put her in ace colors. Even if Dina herself isn’t familiar with the terminology (and she may well be – purple’s not a color I remember Dina wearing a ton of,) Willis is drawing the comparison because he went out of his way to give her ace sleeves in this strip where she’s talking about things from a very ace perspective here.
Speaking as an autistic ace who sees a lot of similarities between myself and Dina, I have a sex drive (low, but existent,) I just don’t really see other people and think ‘oh yeah I want to have sex with them.’ It’s also entirely possible Dina’s demi- or gray-asexual – not usually attracted to people in that way, but sometimes or with a strong emotional connection. Asexual means you don’t experience sexual attraction (or only do so under certain circumstances, because it’s a spectrum), it doesn’t necessarily reflect on your desire to have sex. (Though sex-repulsed aces are certainly a thing and totally valid.)
I am the ace person who was curious enough about sex to be the person who pushed for it early in the relationship. I don’t feel sexual attraction or pleasure (though I know some ace people do get pleasure from it) and honestly mostly sex is kind of boring unless there’s a lot of emotional energy in the space, but I was still curious.
Dina may or may not be ace but I don’t think she’s done anything that serves as evidence against that interpretation.
Plenty of aces, myself included, enjoy the physical sensation of sex as well as the feelings of intimacy it can bring with a partner, we just don’t experience sexual attraction.
Nope, nope, nope. This is ridiculous. Dina is a budding scientist. She is very knowledgeable. This is am oversight on her part for not acknowledging extremely well-established basic facts about human impulsivity. Even if she doesn’t experience that in relation to sex, I am SURE she has experienced it in relation to something like say, buying dinosaur paraphernalia.
Just fuck already. And Amber, Dina’s exams are also important. Just because she’s autistic doesn’t mean she doesn’t need a degree to pursue her career. (Though the more I think about it, maybe Amber isn’t being ableist as I thoughT yesterday when I first saw this. She probably just is so horny but so anxious about her exams that she isn’t thinking clearly.)
“Anxious about exams” would be a viable source of stress and unclear thinking, yes.
But let’s not forget the previous night’s “Battle to the death with her evil father” and “potential fatality or serious injury of one of her friends maybe even sacrificing himself on her behalf” that Amazi-girl has been scratching at the inside of her brain trying to communicate all morning.
That too. I’m really ambivalent about the way she’s treating Dina though. I don’t know if it’s ableist because she thinks Dina is less than her, or due to Amber’s various problems, or that Amber herself is socially awkward.
There have been other instances where Amber has “talked down” to Dina.
It’s not uncommon with Dina – I can remember off the top of my head the party where she and Becky got together (where several sympathetic characters were infantilizing her in a specifically ‘I see you as too immature for romantic relationships’ way) and at least one interaction with Sarah (about Dina not using contractions) where Sarah says Dina’s weird.
She seems to be used to it, which is sad but not surprising. I kind of hope we someday get an arc where Dina finds discussion of autism and goes ‘oh, huh’ – formal diagnosis would take forever (and realistically, getting diagnosed as an adult woman is EXTREMELY difficult because of clinical stereotypes of autism), but finding out there’s a name and you’re not just weird alone is nice.
Amber is becoming more and more annoying… she is becoming like Walky!
Dina doesn’t owe anything to Amber, and at difference of Amber and Walky, Dina does care about actually studying.
Amber is just going through the “I can change him” phase. Ladies and gay/bi/pan men, THAT NEVER WORKS! I am hoping the two realize this codependent relationship is dangerous.
Dina thinks she owes something to Amber for Amazi-Girl rescuing Becky.
But when one owes favours to ask you to skip a mid-term so that you can chaperone them while they lie in bed with their sexy but feckless boyfriend ones inclination to gratitude goes soft.
True acts of heroism don’t require payment. Amber is just leeching of Dina’s goodwill, even if Dina is willingly helping Amber. There’s a point where you tell your heroes to keep it together and become better.
I agree that Dina ought not to requite Amazi-Girl’s heroics by doing Amber’s shitty little requests. It’s just that she explained that that was what she was doing when Amber was making her confront strangers in the role of Amber’s doorkeeper.
It was ok then because she wanted to help Amber because Amber was fragile because of having stabbed Ryan. And Dina may have had the time.
But this is extremely shitty of Amber to expect Dina to skip her freaking *midterm exam* because Amber and Walky can’t keep their minds on studying. There’s really no excuse for this. I still suspect unconscious ableism on Amber’s part. Amber needs to apologize to Dina.
Could it be that, now that Amazi-Girl and Amber aren’t talking to each other, we’re seeing an Amber without the guidance of any heroic impulses? Also, because of the pace of this comic, it’s so hard to remember that Becky was rescued less than a month ago. Heck, Amber MET Dina about 90 days ago, right?
Maybe just “people”? Cause “ladies and gentlemen” also excludes nonbinary people who are masc-attracted. And non-men can also get stuck in behavioural patterns and not change.
It’s most commonly seen in femme partners trying to make masc partners change, yups.. but this is likely because f/m pairings are more common and masc-raised people aren’t socialised to compromise and give in a relationship nearly so much as others.
Really good call on the codependency though.
I think these two could work, but they need time to mature and work through their various issues first, before giving it a second serious try.
Absolutely. I could see this ship working out in the long run, but the timing was all wrong and so far it’s in the ‘unhealthy enabling’ stage we saw with Ruth/Billie.
And given people saying ‘they’re better for each other than their previous partners,’ I’m gonna push back on that. Amber and Walky have low expectations for each other, which is fine, but they also are extremely self-deprecating in those low expectations, and that’s not great. I wouldn’t be surprised if the ‘well I’m garbage’ was part of Amber’s internal justification for changing Walky’s grades when he said no, for instance. (Which, as I’ve pointed out before, is a REALLY BAD thing to have lurking in the background. Like, ‘you could get expelled’ bad.) Dorothy/Walky fell apart because Dorothy has unrealistic expectations of herself (specifically, ‘This will be no-strings-attached’ – clearly not how Dorothy does things, but hey this is college so that was a learning experience – and ‘free time is unnecessary, grades and resume-building are what matter’ – ABORT ABORT.) She was definitely a partner who pushed Walky further, but that’s not inherently a bad thing and he seemed mostly okay with it. (No one’s managed to help Walky study in ways that worked yet, so I’m not counting that as a ding against anyone but Jason, who’s been previously established as a Bad Tutor and Teacher.)
Danny/Amber, on the other hand, was really just an issue of timing and information Danny didn’t have. He thought he was dating Amber, and that Amazi-Girl is just a hobby of hers with maybe some maladaptive coping device on top. That’s why he thought asking her to not do that when they both realized how dangerous it could be was viable. In reality, he was dating Amazi-Girl at a time when she and Amber were really starting to get more and more distinct, and Amber didn’t really have the tools to explain ‘this isn’t just a hobby, this isn’t just a one-off dissociation, I am not Amazi-Girl and I am mot dating you.’ That’s not anyone’s fault. (Honestly, the breakup occurring the way it did was on AG as much as anyone, given the stuff about Sal ‘turning Danny against her’.)
Amber’s Walkyfication is a worrying process, as it may result in getting a female version of Walkyverse Walky, prone to red-eye fits. Once they broke the rules of Garbage Roof, there seems to be no way back and Amazi-Girl is not there to save her.
Still mad at Amber’s selfish “Dina, no you can’t!” Like first read through I thought Dina wanted to leave to study and I was mad, but then I realized Dina literally was leaving to TAKE her midterm and I was unsurprisingly not less mad.
But also I’m bad at not being mad at Amber so…
I didn’t. And honestly, Amber wouldn’t object, as she has the hots for Mike as well. That, and rigor mortis will make Mike hard, so ya know… Twins will have to deal.
Poor Dina. Stuck with two horny, stubborn idiots. Just fuck already. You’re not supposed to be studying the days up to the test or the day of the test anyways, not that anyone follows that. Go… relax. And leave your ace, neuroatypical roommate and her fucking normal human brain alone.
If she’s neuroatypical, doesn’t that mean her brain is definitionally not normal? I relate to Dina quite a lot because I’m also autistic and ace, and we’re not normal in very similar ways.
I mean as a fellow ace person being defined against “normal” friggin stinks, I feel like. It’s a judgement call that everyone else’s brains wok the way they’re supposed to, and therefore mine doesn’t. Obviously ymmv.
It means her brain is neurodivergent, not neurotypical – the latter of which is an awkward term that basically means “most commonly found in the population”. Being the most prevalent does NOT make you the definition of “normal” and various oppressed groups have been pushing back against that sort of automatic assumption of default for a long time. Being straight isn’t “normal” versus LGBTQIA+ being “abnormal”, for example. They’re simply different possibilities within humanity, one being slightly more commonly found. Neurodivergence is pretty common all told and autism is one of various ways in which a normal human brain might function. Being described as an abnormality just because society hasn’t recognised the diversity of those within it is so very insulting and belittling.
If the alternative is not being a common subset of humanity, then:
Asexuals have normal human brains.
Autistics have normal human brains.
And hey, speaking of Amber – plural people also have normal human brains, although her representation is definitely more trauma-based than some
Absolutely. Even if it’s not typical, the phrasing here very much implies ‘you are Wrong and Weird for being atypical,’ and that hurts. (Especially because we get that message from society A LOT.)
My RPG group is 100% non neurotypical. I have TBI, another player has narcolepsy, and 3 others are on the spectrum. It sometimes makes for long, nonproductive game sessions, but we still have a good time.
Better than the last group I was with that game ended when the orgy began, even if we didn’t plan on having an orgy that day. Needless to say we didn’t have much PvP combat because instigators were denied orgy privileges, but we still didn’t get much done in game. But otherwise the best group I’ve been in.
Got to build up that sexual frustration, only way to pay off can be really satisfying…. though I kind of want them to go at it just so later on when Amazi-girl resurfaces she can tell Walky Mike’s been in critical condition while they were fooling around all afternoon.
I’m curious. If Dina had just left WITHOUT telling them would they have noticed? And if they hadn’t noticed, would the assumption of Dina’s presence have been adequate defense against the horny?
I know what the word actually was, but to me, and maybe to Dina as well, that “human brains don’t work that way” line comes across as “that isn’t what normal people do”. It’s a callous thing to say, either way.
They’re so adorable and ridiculous. At this point I think they’re just pretending there’s a reason to deny themselves to build up the tension and make it hotter.
Amber is still desperately telling herself that she isn’t surfing on a hormone tsunami. Her self-image demands that she make a token protest to be actually focussing on mid-terms at this point.
Agreed. Some people imagined an angle “Well you’re atypical Dina, and therefore not human, so what do you know?!” and glommed onto it pretty hard.
The point I see Amber making is “Fine, you’re right, it’s possible but not so easy as just deciding and that’s that. People don’t just decide to quit gambling/drugs/smoking/sex and that’s that. The brain fights and fights.”
That said, asking Dina to fail her midterm just to babysit them was of course never realistic.
Can’t tell if she gave the direct punch to ace-erasure and rape culture got caught in the crossfire, or the direct punch went to rape culture and caught ace-erasure in the crossfire, but I’m here for all of that <3
So, um, basic analysis, ya’ll should basically play I Spy on every page Amber appears in after she goes “I’m sure I forgot something important”. It’s there, each and every time. The windows, the walls, Walky’s room where it shows up on a poster, bed sheet, book then wall. Is it Amazi-Girl attempting to communicate with Amber or Willis trying to get us to keep asking “Where’s Mike?” with hidden letters subconsciously? I dunno, but I will continue to wait eagerly.
I did also glance back at the past comics featuring Joyce and gang, didn’t see any hints, so thus the Amazi-Girl speculation.
I didn’t see it, I even ran an edge detection filter over the image. When I forced a reload, I got a different image, where the letters were visible. So at some point since I first read it last night and when :0 noticed it this morning, the file changed.
no but ohohoh I hit the jackpot! (watch it not be dina lmao, I was safe with someone else before but then my browser forgot the combo and I think there were new ones added so all of mine for the last few days have been muy desagradable)
Its a decision that’s easier for some than others. Plus its generally not a good idea to count on willpower but instead actively take steps to avoid temptation if that’s what your going for. For instance Amber could be streaming from seprate rooms.
It is a decision. It may sound gross coming from Joyces brother or Mary but its not objectively less a decision when they are it than when Dickard or middle name Ryan says it.
I saw this image on another site today. I know it has absolutely nothing to do with today’s comic, but being aware of Willis’s infatuation with all things Transformer, I felt I had to get it to him somehow. And since I don’t do Twitter or Facebook, this was the only way.
Dina is so done with their shit and i 1000% support it. Amber, I get that you’re under a lot of stress but can you please consider other people for once and not dehumanize your wonderful roommate who is already used to being othered by everyone
Amber: We can’t just NOT have sex what are you talking about?!?!?!
Dina, a sex-interested asexual who just twelve hours ago had a frank and healthy conversation with her girlfriend where sexual interest was broadcasted and sexual boundaries were both established and readily respected: …..Are you sure about that.
(Seriously, as someone whose girlfriend was horny as fuck and still chose not to have sex when the possibility arose, this whole game that Walky and Amber are playing must be really confusing/frustrating for Dina.)
Honestly, I was pretty on board this ship until the whole “oH wOe We CaN’t BoNe!!!” subplot. Like, no one cares. The person you’re trying to spare the feelings of doesn’t care. This spectacle of Not Boning only exists to make y’all feel better. Just fuck already and spare the drama.
counter-counter-counter offer =3
Someone just unlocked Social Link Rank 10.
Awww yeah.
Okay, seriously, how do you get hyperlinks to work?
Standard HTML syntax works for me when I get it exactly right.
Use “angle brackets” like this: . And note the quotation marks around the URL.
[a href=”URL goes in here”]hot-text goes in here[/a]
So [a href=”https://www.oglaf.com”]Link to Oglaf[/a] gives this: Link to Oglaf when I substitute “angle brackets” for the square brackets.
(Fingers crossed! I checked twice.)
Weird. That’s what I did, but it didn’t show up. Maybe the filter didn’t like my link?
I find that if I make the tiniest, stupidest mistake, like leaving out the closing quote, the parser junks. Which it should, really. But having no way to test or correct code is a bit of a trial.
If it was just a link without any text, the filter might have thought it was spam.
Yeah, the parser snaffled the “angle brackets”. A less-than sign < is a left angle-bracket, and a greater-than sign > is a right angle-bracket.
Surely Walky’s roommate can help keep them studying, right?
Sojiro is going to kill you.
Nah, knowing Sojiro, he’d probably be proud
ACE SHIRT ACE SHIRT ACE SHIRT
never mind she’s been wearing that this whole arc i just didn’t notice
She has but still ACE SHIRT ACE SHIRT ACE SHIRT
well it’s a very ace reaction that draws your attention to her shirt. I can identify so much; so many fictional plotlines confused the heck out of me because the characters didn’t seem to see not having sex as an option. Like, can’t you at least wait until you’re away from the people trying to kill you and find somewhere comfy?
Very much all this.
As an aside, back when Willis posted the model pre-storyline and did the ‘and here’s the shirt at Meijer this is based off of,’ the sleeve stripes weren’t ace colors. This is an INTENTIONAL Ace Shirt. And also I want it, it’s awesome.
Same here, but in a guy size.
i mean, “this whole arc” has been literally one other comic. you’re probably forgiven for not noticing lmao
You didn’t notice Dina in the comics with Sarah, Joyce and Dorothy?
Beat me to it. HOW DID I NOT NOTICE BEFORE??? *very loud squee*
So whatinthehell is an Ace shirt?
Not 100% sure and too tired to Google but guessing that the stripes on her sleeves represent the asexual (Ace) flag?
That’s right.
What’s an asexual flag? Flags have sex?
I wonder if I’m wearing some flag that I’m completely unaware of, on a garment I bought simply because I liked the colors?
You’re probably already familiar with the rainbow flag as a gay pride symbol, at least vaguely. People have selected flags to represent a lot of other non-traditional sexual orientations as well. Details are available at https://outrightinternational.org/content/flags-lgbtiq-community.
Shirt sold by the Ace Hardware chain.

Tbh I kinda want that shirt…..
Dina’s with Becky, not Robin. Also, I’m getting a bit of a demisexual vibe from Dina since her party.
Sorry, I was tired that day and have no idea why in the world I said Robin instead of Becky!
I’m ace – demisexual, specifically.
I have also conceived and given birth to two children. Because ace people can have sex.
I just don’t tend to want it, or think of it as an option most of the time.
I’m also panromantic and polyamorous, because human sexuality is interesting and diverse.
That is an interesting combination, must have been fun finding partner(s) who were compatible with you.
Final offer: Just fuck you dopes
Perfect post/av combo
Yeah. Does their birth control take that long to use?
Just fuck, you dopes / Just, fuck you, dopes / Just, fuck you dopes
Thank you for posting this, so I didn’t have to.
Dina decides to minor in Psychology, as she’s clearly the person on campus who best understands the human mind.
Well, after the late Mike anyway.
Dead or not, he’s late and missing his mid-term exams.
When someone with Asperger’s tell you THAT IS HOW IT WORKS.
That. is how. it works.
She’s technically right, but massively understates the difficulty of not doing something you really want to do, but think you shouldn’t.
That was supposed to be a reply to Zaxares.
90% of world literature would cease to exist if you subscribe to ‘ if you don’t want to fuck, just don’t do it’.
And/or “if you want to fuck, but believe you shouldn’t under these particular circumstances“.
It is.
This is why I always feel uncomfortable when that name’s used to describe my place on the spectrum.
That’s an amazing misrepresentation of Asperger’s actual work, but hey, you do you.
Asperger was, at the barebones, a eugenicist and a Nazi. That (completely setting aside the low/high functioning thing!) should be all the explanation needed to move away from his specific legacy — misrepresentation or no.
Dina, panel 5, not putting up with your shit and I am here for it.
…and you had better include an apology for implying that Dina isn’t human. De-humanising people sucks like a diesel dredge.
AGREED.
Fucking. THIS.
That is so not at all implied by what Amber said. You can be human and not understand how human brains work. Most people, in fact, fit this description, due to a lack of psychoeducation.
Does that make Dina the Ace of Spades?
Amber owes Dina many apologies, including for getting Dina involved with her shitty love life and her double life as a vigilante. Dina can pull a Sarah and ditch Amber.
Also an apology for storing Mike’s body in the unused back portion of Dina’s closet.

RIP to Amber and Walky but Dina’s different.
Well this will probably have a fast cutaway
More like Slipshine?
I relate to Dina a lot.
… Walky, did you just talk your way our of oral sex? Giving and receiving?
For a dry hump, yet. Sheesh.
Yeah…
Can male-anatomy people even do dry humping? I thought that was a thing we could do because clits. How would that even…?
As a former 13-year-old, yes we assuredly can
Well, for a couple with one penis and one vulva between them, you put the erect penis between the labia (with lube, I suggest) and rub the clitoris against the penis while rubbing the glans penis with the pudendal cleft. The best method in my opinion is in reverse-cowgirl, clitoris to frenulum, the person with a vulva controlling pace and pressure. It’s very common heterosexual foreplay, and a popular subject for porn.
Sorry. Cowgirl, not reverse-cowgirl.
If you’re using lube, it’s not dry humping as I know it, which is clothed.
Difference of regional or generational usage, perhaps.
This is literally what I was going to say.
The “dry” in dry hump means no lube, either natural or otherwise.
Allowances for regional usage aside, that would, at the very least, be “wet humping”.
I agree with drs
That’s what I was thinking. Dry-humping as I recall it is messy as hell.
I agree, I would call what described above as grinding, not dry humping.
Sure. Main groin grinding against a soft-firm object, like a butt. Or lying down and letting a girl’s butt or crotch grind on your groin, like a lap dance.
Also depends how… sensitive… you are.
AH.
Then again, she did say “non-penetrative.” But, yeah, my counter would have been oral.
You can do oral non-penetratively. You just gotta get to the center of the tootsie pop the long way.
But I will also fully admit that I took non-penetrative to mean “no vaginal or anal penetration”. I’ve never really thought of blow jobs as being penetrative… more envelopment?
Unless we’re having another regional and generational mismatch of slang, Walky’s first suggestion was oral (Frenching), which Amber rejected.
Where are you from?
I think it means that in Russia. Don’t know where else.
Um, not quite. While tongue-kissing (“Frenching”) is quite literally “oral”, the latter term is usually not applied to that but to fellatio and/or cunnilingus.
In American English, Frenching is kissing with tongue. AKA French kissing, making out, snogging (British).
Does anyone under 35 actually call it Frenching nowadays?
“Non-penatrative” could refer to mutual masturbation. Aka, hand jobs.
Yeah, that’s what I thought, which is why I corrected myself. Cunnilingus needn’t be penetrative, but fellatio typically is. Admittedly, you can do non-penetrative fellatio, but it’s not as much fun. YMMV
Ok, then; on the counter.

Still think this is a horrible hook up
Counter-offer: they are better for each other than either of them was for their previous partners.
Wait, that isn’t a counter-offer as it is completely compatible with your opinion. Never mind.
I’m with you. Just get this over with!
well its’ alright, you can live the life you please
Just leave other people out of your sex life and go nuts, you crazy kids.
Also: Someone grab me a bottle of Champagne!
Cause it’s time to LAUNCH THIS GARBAGE SCOW! Wooo!
I still stand by Reltzik naming it the SS Garbage Skowl.
I, too, stand by me naming it SS Garbage Skowl, or I would if I had enough levels in Correspondence.
…. no one gets that reference, do they?
I do appreciate the Skowl pun.
That said, I was using the generic “this Garbage Scow”
This garbage scow could be called the SS Garbage Skowl.
I mostly stick with the generic because I like making very oblique Star Trek Original Series references.
“It should be hauled away AS garbage!”
“I see. And that’s when you hit the Klingons.”
“Well, sir – this was a matter of pride.”
How else could you co-locate?
I love Dina’s super appropriate Ace shirt. Her face in panel 5 is such a mood.
Yeah, Dina has experience. She offered, but Becky decided not to. Dina may be a little peeved.
Hey Amber maybe don’t tell your asexual roommate how “human brains” react to sexual desire, you jag
Yeah I’m really mad at Amber throughout this day
I don’t think she’s ace. I mean, she wants to have sex with her girlfriend.
1. ace people can want to have sex for a variety of reasons and are not all sex-repulsed
2. her shirt is literally ace flag colors
(Though sex-repulsed aces are certainly a thing and totally valid.)
that’s cool but there are ace people you don’t know
dina has mentioned wanting to have sex in the same strip as mentioning she doesn’t feel sexual attraction, so
hyperlink didn’t work, check january 11, 2015
(just six short months before becky hits on her for the first time, incidentally)
Willis has confirmed on Twitter that Dina’s shirt is deliberately a “Gray Ace” shirt, so I suppose that settles things.
Also maybe don’t tell your quite probably autistic roommate that the way she works is not the way humans work, THANKS.
Yep. Oh, microaggressions.
The disdain from Dina in panel 5 is amazing
Amber did kinda call her inhuman, so . . .
Hope he brought some spare underwear or something, because the walk back is going to be sticky.
I mean, if they do it and get it out of the way they might just have enough energy to do a little studying. . .
ha, of coarse not; they’ll probably just be dead tired after it all lol
Seriously, just do it. It’s been a while since we got some good Slipshine content anyway.
Damn I should draw that. But y’know. I’m lazy 😛
What a tease :y
I don’t think I have ever related to Dina more.
Dina is just so done.
Dina is right, it’s just that your flesh is weak and hungry.
I should have specified straight and bi/pan women, or just said ladies and gentlemen.
I prefer Ladles and Jellyspoons.
Requiring payment and ‘someone feeling like they owe you’ are not the same necessarily.
Not even. It’s been like a month and a half, maybe two.
I have given up trying to keep the chronology straight, I just read the pages as they come up and roll with it.
Yeah, I have to agree that both of their previous relationships were at least as good for them.
Walky and Amber are cute together, but there are definitely issues.
But also I’m bad at not being mad at Amber so…
You just get it, if Dina leaves they’ll have sex….could you imagine the worst scenario.
Threesome with Sal.
You said imagine the worst scenario, my brain went to find worse.
But did you consider the possibility of a threesome with dead Mike?
Admittedly, Mike wouldn’t object and Sal might, but still.
Oh, they are gonna fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
Well, at least ruuuuuuuuub, anyway.
That her girlfriend kinda has her in the Cuddle Zone for now could possibly be interpreted as frustrating on some level.
Language thing I guess? In my native language ‘normal’ means mostly okay and valid.
And hey, speaking of Amber – plural people also have normal human brains, although her representation is definitely more trauma-based than some
(because Amber didn’t SAY “normal”, just “human”..)
I do think that “normal” is how it comes across to Dina, or at least, that’s a way to read it.
Dullest Slipshine Ever.
“Walky and Amber engage in classical bartering techniques.”
I’m hoping not.
Got to build up that sexual frustration, only way to pay off can be really satisfying…. though I kind of want them to go at it just so later on when Amazi-girl resurfaces she can tell Walky Mike’s been in critical condition while they were fooling around all afternoon.
It’s healthy that they can verbally communicate mutually agreeable climaxes, I mean compromises.
I’m curious. If Dina had just left WITHOUT telling them would they have noticed? And if they hadn’t noticed, would the assumption of Dina’s presence have been adequate defense against the horny?
Defense Against The Horny, the much, much less successful spin-off of DOTA
We’ll never know, will we?
I love Dina so much in this. The other two? Just do it already and throw your “normal brains don’t work that way” bullshit in the garbage.
It wasn’t “normal”. It was “human“. Which sucks muddy gravel. Being classified as “not human” is the first step on the road to the gas chambers.
I know what the word actually was, but to me, and maybe to Dina as well, that “human brains don’t work that way” line comes across as “that isn’t what normal people do”. It’s a callous thing to say, either way.
Look, guys, whatever. Just remember to use protection and to lock the door.
Surely you mean sock the door?
… so the slipshine for this is going to be called “Counter-Counter-Counter-Offer”, I take it.
I’m hoping Yelling Bird knows what happens next.
Damn it I thought I did the link right.

“It is.” *walks away from an explosion in slo mo while putting on shades*
They’re so adorable and ridiculous. At this point I think they’re just pretending there’s a reason to deny themselves to build up the tension and make it hotter.
[a href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJ9ea-hbQw4”]They should definitely not have sex right now. What are they, bonobos in a tree?[/a]
They should definitely not have sex right now. What are they, bonobos in a tree?
DAMMIT
Wouldn’t be faster to go whole hog at that stage?
Amber is still desperately telling herself that she isn’t surfing on a hormone tsunami. Her self-image demands that she make a token protest to be actually focussing on mid-terms at this point.
Even Dina is tired of their shit lol
“I am going to talk to Joyce Brown.”
“But you hate Joyce!”
“It is better than standing here and watch you two attempt to not be a cliche comedy romantic duo.”
Dina has had enough of your bullshit.
I see you, asexual flag.
It’s the adult thing to not have sex right now.
Meant to be a reply to SDRainbow …..
Dina, don’t make me pull up the panel where you nearly jumped Becky’s bones.
That was birthday sex, that’s different.
Dina isn’t disapproving, she’s pointing out that she doesn’t get why someone can’t control themselves without a chaperone!
And here’s the page: https://www.dumbingofage.com/2019/comic/book-10/01-birthday-pursuit/partyacclimating/
“Humans can’t decide to refrain from sex” is not an argument Amber wants to make.
Considering that’s basically what they did for Dina’s birthday? Yeah, bad argument.
bad look from someone who slashed up a rapist
Nor is it an argument she’s making, so it’s all good.
Pretty much. Amber is being a jerk here, but the jerk part is far more demanding Dina babysit them than anything about Dina being atypical.
Panel 5 “Fuck you and your bullshit” Dina is giving me LIFE.
Dina is channeling her inner Sarah.
Dina’s got a good glare. She must use it against nonbelievers of dinosaurs and science.
No… I don’t think that she had that glare before she met Joyce and Walky.
Can’t tell if she gave the direct punch to ace-erasure and rape culture got caught in the crossfire, or the direct punch went to rape culture and caught ace-erasure in the crossfire, but I’m here for all of that <3
I’m pretty sure this is exactly how I ended up pregnant the one and only time
Dina went to take a midterm and left you with Walky?
What did, not studying for a midterm?
If I need to not be horny I just remember that Sheev Palpatine canonically fucks
So did historical Hitler, Ilse Koch, and the ex-virgin Mary, though presumably not with each other. I’m not sure how that helps.
And the usual comment that Mary was not a virgin, the original word was mistranslated.
Also, Jar Jar Binks.
He canonically inseminates. There’s not enough information to determine whether direct personal interaction was involved.
So… how about that “MIKE” appearing on the cover of Dina’s textbook.
I hadn’t noticed that and now I feel like I need to go look through all the recent comics for more instances of this trolling
I think, on my lunch at work, I will be reviewing all recent Amber tags and look for hints. Darn my love of conspiracy theories.
I did also glance back at the past comics featuring Joyce and gang, didn’t see any hints, so thus the Amazi-Girl speculation.
also, his bio in the cast page was changed
Oh, GOOD catch!
Dude. Not the first text book. I have worries.
https://www.dumbingofage.com/2020/comic/book-10/02-to-remind-you-of-my-love/fleshballs/
Look closer
Holy crap that’s kinda freaky I LOVE IT.
Oh heck I’m noticing this on the past ones too
Fuck me, but I hate my eyes. Only noticed that now.
I do not see it.
Okay, so it’s not just me. I can’t see it when I came home on my PC, but saw it on my work PC.
I didn’t see it, I even ran an edge detection filter over the image. When I forced a reload, I got a different image, where the letters were visible. So at some point since I first read it last night and when :0 noticed it this morning, the file changed.
Yeah, I saved this one when I read it the first time, and it wasn’t there.
However, it is there in my local copy of the one where Walky’s singing.
Now it is there. I was worried I was just missing it. I did go back and look at the other strips and saw it.
Dina has a point.
Do people really get so horny they can’t control themselves? Asking for a friend.
No. They just tell themselves that.
i mean, in the end it really is a decision you can make
ugh i forgot it was still that dude
You’re really not having the best of luck with gravatars, are you?
no but ohohoh I hit the jackpot!
It may sound gross coming from Joyces brother or Mary but its not objectively less a decision when they are it than when Dickard or middle name Ryan says it.
oh my lord
I saw this image on another site today. I know it has absolutely nothing to do with today’s comic, but being aware of Willis’s infatuation with all things Transformer, I felt I had to get it to him somehow. And since I don’t do Twitter or Facebook, this was the only way.
Dina is so done with their shit and i 1000% support it. Amber, I get that you’re under a lot of stress but can you please consider other people for once and not dehumanize your wonderful roommate who is already used to being othered by everyone
Othered by Joyce, by Sarah’s ex-friends, etc. At least Toedad called her “clever girl”. Dina derserves respect as a person.
Even by Sarah, in a way, when she was questioning Dina’s avoidance of contractions.
But the wait makes it all more satisfying ?
Seriously. Hell, by this point I think Sal wants them to have sex so they’ll both SHUT UP about their angsting around her.
No “think”, she openly threatened to take Walky by his tickle-stick and cram him into Amber just so they’d shut up.
hey, is this where Walky notice all the bruises from last night’s fight on her body ?
Oooooh, I like your way of thinking. Cause yeah, she should be pretty banged up from all that.
Panel 8: *shirt draped over lamp, word balloon pointing behind giant velociraptor* “Counter-counter-counter-counter offer accepted.”
Welp, soon enough Walky will Solve for X one way or another.
(Summoning the person whose incredible fan art that was.)
How extra do you have to be to annoy Dina?
Dina is right and she should say it
Non native-speaker here… what does “french it up” mean? :$
Kissing with open mouths and tongues involved is “French kissing”.
roughly the same as ‘making out’ (kissing and possibly more). the phras is from ‘french kissing’ (kissing with tongue)
Thank you. I am glad they accepted something… bigger?
Dina ain’t having none of their bullshit.
The nail feels so abandoned
That’s it, if there’s a Dina/Becky AND Wally/Amber slipshine, I’m giving in and buying a membership.
