So lets get this straight… Dorothy (who in the Walkyverse Walky had a crush on) is with Danny, the same Danny likely to be the target of Joyce’s affection. Of course Walky will likely like Joyce, but Dina will likely also be around – which might lead to even further complications, especially since Walky is rooming with Mike.
And Amber has a DoA Twitter feed.
…considering that’s not even mentioning DoA Sal or Joe’s possible attraction to Joyce…

There are going to be so many love triangles and ridiculous drama and…
…well, I guess it sounds pretty much like college.
I think this has gone beyond triangles. We’re into much more complex polygons at this point. Just the one Trae Dorn described is, I think, a love pentagon. Or a hexagon if you include Mike in that mix.
It’ll be just like the anime “Ranma 1/2” where I described it as a love dodecahedron.
Mike would be more likely to get into a Hate Rhombus.

Holy crap! I almost forgot about Walky’s high school crush on Dorothy. Knowing the future, is Walky gonna be a doctor now?

I trying to remember if we’ve had any indication that Robin will be around. I’m just remembering now her little crush on Joe.
Oh man I almost forgot about that. And I don’t think we’ve seen a Robin Cameo yet, but it’s still really early in the comic anyway.
I forsee an orgy in Joe’s future. (like that was hard to guess!)

These early strips are great, I feel like we’re meetinig these characters all over again for the first time. It’s also kinda exciting to see what characters from the Walkyverse will be including in DoA (although I can’t decide if I’m really spotting all these characters in the background or if I just want them to be there).

Speaking of which, is the Cheese still being used in place of God for swearing? It doesn’t make much sense, but then we have Ethan and one-off characters using it in Shortpacked, so it’s not impossible…
But that’s because Shortpacked! is set in the same universe as It’s Walky, where The Cheese was pretty publicly known by the end of things. This is a separate universe.
Remember that strip where Robin talks about how none of the Shortpacked crew besides herself and Mike know about the war because they’re in their own little world? (Can’t find the freaking link…)

Robin was clearly selling the Shortpacked crew short. Amber later exhibited specific knowledge of the Martian war, and even admitted she suspected that Mike had fought.
Also, Thad recognized Robin as a “war hero.”
Maybe now that she’s in public strips, Dorothy will finally stop being known as “blonde Amber”…eventually.
I thought she was a new character. Thank you, Walkypedia.

Danny’s hair seems to have grown a couple inches in the last two panels. Not that I’m complaining, since it’s a nice callback to the very first strip wherein his hair had absurd amounts of body.
Oh man. This comic is making me squee out and I don’t even know why. Amber showed up in the comic talking about Sister Sal.
I wonder if Beef is now a friend of Joe and Danny’s from wayback, now? Or maybe not, since they wouldn’t be moving constantly.
And Joyce is clearly freaking out in the background at her family leaving.

Even though I know what’s canon and what isn’t, for some reason I’m finding myself wanting Joyce and Danny to get together. They’re in the same spot right now!
It could happen. DoA canon is only 7 strips old right now. Walky! canon doesn’t matter. I don’t expect everyone to hook up exactly the way they did before. (What’s the point of a reboot, if you’re just going to copy what you did before?)

Hm. I hypothesize, given Amber’s twitter, that her roommate is Dina.
I was trying to figure that out. Amber the über geek and Dina. I think I’d love to read just that comic. I mean, I’ll love this comic, and those characters within this comic, but I’d pay premium to read Amber/Dina on top of this!
I really wonder what the Head Alien would look like/act like if you could find a way to work him into this continuity. I know it’s unlikely, but he’s the one character I’d love to see revived in some form or another…
He’s apparently everyone’s favorite cartoon character, Dexter! I think he’s been indicated to be an Invader Zim kind of figure.
Willis has said that Head Alien and Monkey Master are the stars of an Invader Zim style show in this universe.
I hope Linda Walkerton produces it. Or writes the comic for it that was made into a show. Or something.
Admittedly, I was hoping for some sort of evil professor with an odd personal life, but I suppose that’ll do.
Hm. Transparent panels are now blue due to the new site design. I actually think I kind of prefer the tile pattern.
I very much miss the tile pattern behind the comic. Blue in the comment area would be an okay compromise.
You wouldn;t believe how happy I am to have Danny and Joe back together in the comics! It;s making me nostalgic, even though I only started reading about 4 years ago….
I only read It’s Roomies a couple of months ago and this is making me think of the good old days.

So, this is the same characters, but an alternate series of events, right? Is this your ultra-super-meta nerdy way of making something like Transformers, in which the story is always different, even though the characters are there?
Having only been an SP! reader, I can’t help but feel like maybe we’re having too many characters introduced too soon here. I haven’t had time to get attached to or start liking anybody yet and we’re already getting strips introducing three new characters…
Willis is introducing characters as if they’ve never been introduced before, so that people who haven’t even read SP! will be able to get it. The emotional connections are meant to be started from scratch here.
That said, he does have a LOT of characters to cover.
DoA won’t have any more major characters than your usual sitcom. You’ll see who gets the spotlight as the strip congeals.
