….So I guess at this point this version of Walky has only ever had an intament attraction to 2 people so far in his entire life. Unless Billie actually still counts which I used to I think the two of them could become a thing but now the whole pseudo sibling Dynamic between the two has sunk in for me. At this point it would just be weird.
I think he also might just be full of shit here, like he sometimes is, but yeah, he did seem to fall hard and fast for Dorothy, so maybe he really was new to it.
Walky manages to make all arguments in the best ways to set up a punchline and I aggressively love it so freaking much. I know it’s like a universal human genetic trait in the Dumbiverse (Likely due to the less amusing primates being rapidly outbred by chucklemonkeys early in our evolution), but still
I’m still not clear what they’ll do even if they find out everything about him? Just like, let Sal know for moderate closure or curiosity? Epic boss battle? That doesn’t make sense. I’m not sure what outcome DOES make sense.
Ah, remember being 12 and feeling like “I Am Definitely In Love”?
Yeah, it can turn out to be pretty cringe in retrospect. One of the things I wouldn’t mind going Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on.
Might be a dumb question, but where does the gaydar comment come from? Was there some thing that happened a little while back that I just don’t remember?
Ha, man, I totally didn’t realize she was talking about herself in the last panel and thought Amber thought Sal was gay (or that the thing she’s looking at out of the corner of her eye is Sal and Marcie putting The Plan into action and Amber just coming to that conclusion at that moment).
Ohhhh, that makes a lot more sense. “You can have feelings when you’re that young, [but] your gaydar might not be fully developed.” The expression change in the last panel totally threw me off and made me think the “you” was referring to Walky.
Amber’s entire sexual history consists of Ethan (unconsummated, because he’s gay) and Danny (consummated, but technically only by Amazi-Girl). Can’t dig into the archives right now, but as I recall Amber herself has acknowledged that the guys she is sexually attracted to are usually gay or bi.
As many others have said before and will say again, a comic unironically titled “Well-considered ideas of developing maturity” would not attract a wide readership.
It’s interesting Walky thought they had a thing. Sal didn’t seem to like him much in that flashback. I guess that could’ve changed between Marcie’s throat getting smooshed and the robbery, but ’11 or 12′ sounds like it happened before.
It’s probably the explanation Walky had in his head for why Sal hung out with Asher: She was trying to impress him because she was attracted to him. I’m not sure if even now he’s aware of just how deeply Sal was alienated by conventional society.
It’s unlikely but I’ll laugh my butt off if Asher is now an extremely nice, well-mannered and law-abiding man. It turns out that Sal’s fate taught him a hard lesson and he turned the corner! Of course, Amber doesn’t believe him!
Meanwhile, Walky’s reaction to girls tells me more about his rate of maturation than it does his sexual orientation!
This must be so incredibly weird to Amber. Not only is Sal suddenly a person rather than a horrific icon of her own truama – she is suddenly a person with backstory, and other people in it.
Hey, just because he was DTF when it came to bribing Jason for better grades… no, wait, he was also sort of interested in at least one other guy, even if I don’t recall the details. Definitely into the D, at least a little.
I wonder if Amber is expecting to find out Sal was a serial killer or something horrible, only to be irritated she was only a juvenile delinquent because she was trying to raise money for her friend’s operation.
This is weird but every time I see Beef I feel a little sad he and Walky are strangers in this universe. It just seems sad to lose a sibling over universes.
Walky: Relationship Hipster
Amber really does have a type.

Oh come on, Walky’s not always full of shit. We have the #stool tweets to prove that he evacuates it sometimes.
The new shit pushes the old one out. he evacuates -because- he’s still full of it.
This is more or less how it works for me, yes.
A steady diet of chicken nuggets keeps you regular? Whatever works, I guess.
Billie was the relationship that everyone back home expected. And, may still expect.
I can see why and I wouldn’t be surprised if one bad a thing for the other. But some pairs just feel natural outside of a romantic subtext.
Hey Beef, see you again in a couple of years.
*Grunt*
Walky manages to make all arguments in the best ways to set up a punchline and I aggressively love it so freaking much. Keep your eyes peeled. Even if it’s not his fault, when Beef is nearby, Bad Things tend to happen.
oh shit how did I never notice that
He’s a dick when we first meat him; and after he seems to be present whenever the narrative steaks jump a bit higher.
Walky and Amber should give him the cold shoulder and/or tell him to butt out.
I might as well try to flank you so I can skirt this nonsense.
I agree, we should chuck the whole subject. Let’s do it brisket-ly
I’m gristling with rage that I joined in on this thread.
Then leave, you cow-ard!
What an udder-ly A1 suggestion.
To the tags list! Awaayyyy!!
Yeah, pretty accurate. The time Danny got mobbed, the first-weekend party, and the DeSanto rally in late Book 6 / early Book 7.
I would argue, it is actually when we are here that bad things happen.
Um.
I do love the yellow stripe across the jacket … let’s hope he keeps both arms intact in this universe.
his outside feels like he’s there for a yellow vest protest
But… Ruttech bionic limbs!
I’m still not clear what they’ll do even if they find out everything about him? Just like, let Sal know for moderate closure or curiosity? Epic boss battle? That doesn’t make sense. I’m not sure what outcome DOES make sense.
Stab him in the hand so that he and Sal can match?
Ah, remember being 12 and feeling like “I Am Definitely In Love”?
Yeah, it can turn out to be pretty cringe in retrospect. One of the things I wouldn’t mind going Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on.
12-year-old self: “Of course personality matters most!”
Also 12-year-old self: literally asks out the most popular kid in 8th grade, ignoring all odds
Oh hey, Beef.
oh, beef?
To even have a chance with Amber you need to at least be willing to blow a dude for gay pizza.
Gay pizza? So like… a Pizza Hut meat lovers? (Hm, that DOES explain a lot about me.)
Now *that* sounds like a cheap porno flick.

It was an actual thing
Walky is a bit of a late bloomer. Anyway, I thought Sal was 13 when she robbed that place.
She was.
Might be a dumb question, but where does the gaydar comment come from? Was there some thing that happened a little while back that I just don’t remember?
Ethan didn’t know he was gay at that age, or was still trying to repress it.
Which is pretty early, though.
And to add to above, Amber had feelings for Ethan, and they dated, but Amber did not realize he was gay.
Ha, man, I totally didn’t realize she was talking about herself in the last panel and thought Amber thought Sal was gay (or that the thing she’s looking at out of the corner of her eye is Sal and Marcie putting The Plan into action and Amber just coming to that conclusion at that moment).

Ohhh, okay. Thanks, y’all!
Thank you for clarifying!
Ah that works a lot better than how I was trying to fit it together.
Amber doesn’t know Danny is bi though.
Maybe not, but I’m justleaving this here.
I was confused about the gaydar comment for a minute, but then I remembered Amber tried to bang Ethan at some point.
I have to ask the obvious questions, what about this says good idea? And what are they actually hoping to do here?
… you do notice which two characters are the ones involved in this idea, right?
Why would it need to say “good” idea?
Right?! This is a garbage idea for garbage people from garbage roof.
As many others have said before and will say again, a comic unironically titled “Well-considered ideas of developing maturity” would not attract a wide readership.
If Willis wrote it, I would read it.
Well this’ll be fun.
It’s interesting Walky thought they had a thing. Sal didn’t seem to like him much in that flashback. I guess that could’ve changed between Marcie’s throat getting smooshed and the robbery, but ’11 or 12′ sounds like it happened before.

McNutt sounds like a perfect name for a Walky-centered slipshine
I am claiming dibs on Beef McNutt as my porno name.
That’s right up there with Oreo O’s Man.
It’s unlikely but I’ll laugh my butt off if Asher is now an extremely nice, well-mannered and law-abiding man. It turns out that Sal’s fate taught him a hard lesson and he turned the corner! Of course, Amber doesn’t believe him!

DoA Book whatever: I Didn’t Even Like Girls Until College
Featuring Ruth
A lot of bushes around McNutt… I’m sure that was planned
Luigi Amber!
Yes!
McNutt: The Place Where Beef Lives
*Amber thumps the side of her gaydar a couple of times*
Is this thing even ON??
If it didn’t go off when she met Becky for the first time then I think she is eligible for a refund.
Walky is a terrible liar.
Also, hi Beef. I hope your parents don’t die and you snap.
Hmmmmm indeed Amber.
I see you eyeing that 4th wall in that last panel there
