She wants to be sure that it will smell like her till Walky cleans it next, which knowing him will be when the Sun finally consumes the Earth and washes the grime away nuclear fire.
Not glitchless, though. Around the 4:13 mark, she did perform a tricky maneuver that required a jump cancel and the arrow duplication exploit.(they’re running the 1.80 version, before that got patched out)
I mean… I actually think that’s a possibility. Dorothy is finally being honest about her wants and how lost she feels, and Walky has been working on himself as a person and is untangling what’s expected of him from what is good for him. And while I never super warmed to Lucy, she seems to be growing and asserting herself wonderfully, as witness her interaction with Jacob (who I think would be a great partner for her now that she’s less happily ever after). There’s a good chance this works out. And I’m interested to see the conversations between Dorothy and Joyce about this, and about sex/romance in general.
I worry that Dorothy is going to paper over the time they were broken up with “we’re back together now, what does it matter.” But it was a formative time for Walky and it matters very much to him.
That might be so but I feel he burned his bridges with Amber and Lucy (for that mater).
Also, this kind of makes me wonder how he is doing in school this semester. Last semester, Amber hacked into the school system and changed his grades, she indicated she won’t do it again.
Walky told his parents during the fake girlfriend dinner that he was doing better. He’s probably fine academically at least to the point of not having to overly worry about it.
AG offered to help him, and set up timers on his phone to help him stay on track. That’s what got him through the rest of fall semester. Only a few weeks into Spring semester, so we don’t know if it’s still helping his study habits.
I actually think that is the exact opposite of what he needs. If she apologizes then he’ll just say “don’t worry about it,” and Dorothy will assume everything is fine. He needs a chance to talk about what happened and how he feels. Not one party apologizing to the other.
Especially since he was never that mad about what happened. An apology would just feel awkward to him and he would complete his part of the ritual without much thought.
For what it’s worth, there’s an unused strip for May 16th, in which Walky is uncharacteristically forthright, and she apologizes. what for? I guess you’ll all have to join the patreon to find out.
Is there a world where ‘This relationship is one-sided.’ ‘I need to be brave enough to know I deserve better.’ walking away and then nothing but bare acknowledgements of existence *isn’t* perceived by both of them as a break up? Sure, I guess for dramatic comedy that might be the case.
But anyone upset at Walky taking all of that as ‘we’re over’ is doing it to themself. That’s a pretty clear through line.
People keep asking if they’re broken up and I really struggle to understand why? Lucy has essentially completely shut him out. I’d feel bad for Walky if they were still considered together because his “girlfriend” gaslight him so hard he went and fucked another girl.
Because the magic words were never said. She said that he didn’t stand up for her to his parents, fuck you, I need to be brave enough to know when I deserve better, and see you at math tomorrow. None of those words are “we’re done.” Since then, she’s been perfectly friendly and cordial to Walky, saying that it’s nice to see him, communicating when she’ll see him next.
You can *assume* from the context that they’re over, but realistically it’s been, what, two days? We’re on Tuesday, right? You can’t simply assume that leaving after a fight equals being broken up.
She could just as easily stop by his dorm later that night, thank him for giving her some space while she prioritized herself and her own self-worth, and pop in a superhero flick.
This is how you get “WE WERE ON A BREAK!!!” Clear communication.
I thought the first paragraph was implying that they were broken up. She said all the breakup stuff. She is acting like a friendly ex.
But then you said it’s just a fight and she needs to further clarify her position. Now I understand that Walky is bad at taking hints, but as readers surely we can assume they’re over?
Two people can date once or twice, but until they have a conversation of “So, are we then a couple?” it’s not official. They may ASSUME that they’re both exclusively dating each other, and if both make the assumption they are de facto a couple. But if one makes the assumption, and the other is just having fun, they’re not.
The same thing goes for when they aren’t a couple. You’re talking about “implying” they were broken up and that Walky is “bad about taking hints” and can’t we “assume they’re over?” That’s all highlighting that no real communication happened. And internally, Walky’s not yet decided that he’s broken up with Lucy. He defended her to his parents, he’s been hanging on her presence every time they’re together, he’s asking Booster if his visitor is Lucy. He said he “might” have lost her.
And we don’t really know, for sure, *what* Lucy thinks. She spent months essentially in a one-way relationship where she didn’t really have any confirmation that Walky liked her more than as a friend. She already said they were dating for “months” when they’ve officially only had like three dates. Sure, to you it sounds like she said all the breakup words, but to her she might have just expressed her feelings and took some “me” time. Hell, her last words of the fight was that she liked him way more than he liked her; she might be doing the “if he likes me, he’ll come to me” schtick.
In any case – Walky doing this with Dorothy, is a relationship-ending move, and yet his expressions and words here show that he’s not emotionally over his relationship with Lucy. And even if in Lucy’s mind they’re broken up, Walky immediately boning his ex not two days after they broke up, is going to be a slap in the face.
To your point I think communication is the key factor here and that is why they are truly split up. Communication is not a privilege in a relationship it is a requirement and Lucy cut all of that off. She doesn’t speak or interact with Walky outside of socially and academically obligated meet up. She never said they were on a break or indicated such. They’re split because of intentional separation on her part. You don’t just get to not talk to your partner for two days after insulting them and think you’re still together (for the record I don’t think Lucy does) you gotta talk. Walky has no fault here. I do think he did jump into bed with Dorothy too quickly because his mind is clearly still confused about what he wants. Why can’t the man just be alone for a bit to actually self reflect? But sex isn’t always an emotional commitment and maybe they’ll both just take this moment as needed relief.
What you have described about communication is good ADVICE but it doesn’t always work out that way in real life. Sometimes you have to read into a situation. When Walky asked Lucy to get “romantic dinner”, it’s reasonable to interpret that he wanted to explore a relationship with her. When Lucy said “I deserve better,” it’s reasonable to assume that she wanted to end the relationship. Especially as this is a comic and it’s more exciting for things to play out in a dramatic fashion, rather than featuring the kinds of discussions you have described. Have we ever seen a couple speak on-screen about how they are serious now?
If you said the things Lucy said and then showed up at my door with a superhero movie thanking me for the space, my immediate reaction would not be “hey cool, come on in, let’s have fun together”, and I don’t know why we’re pretending that’s a reasonable expectation.
If—IF—I was interested in continuing a relationship that I just got dumped out of two days prior and the partner in question had straight up been refusing to acknowledge I exist as more than background noise (she was explicitly not friendly??? where is the idea she was friendly coming from? She was polite-ish) we would need to have a pretty serious talk about it!! My feelings would be really badly hurt!
Like…Jesus, that would actually put Lucy in the wrong*, here! Expecting to keep going like that was a little baby hiccup is kind of cruel!
(*: by this I do not mean she would be Satan on Earth or some shit, she’s not a villain, doing this wouldn’t make her a villain, it just isn’t nice.
Also she’s currently not cruel or doing anything wrong. As a breakup it was a wholly justified breakup. It’s only wrong to expect to pick it back up.)
If she shows up to have an adult conversation, which I hope she doesn’t, then it’s on Walky to be a good, honest dude and tell her “I don’t think we’re a thing anymore, Luce, not least of all cause I’m bangin’ Dorothy again. 🫤”
Exactly. Ending a relationship is a big deal. There’s a protocol, and part of it is being clear that you are actually ending it, by saying that.
And, outside the story, there’s a lot of story to be had if Lucy comes ’round to say she’s got some stuff sorted out, they both made mistakes, etc. They talk some stuff out, patch up the relationship, and then Walky feels compelled to tell her, “uh, Dorothy was feelin’ really down, and I wanted to help, and we kinda had sex….” Category 3 drama hurricane incoming!
I swear to God there’s a weird cult that wants to re-enact scenarios from Friends.
Look. Conceivably, Lucy could decide that actually, she thinks she was overreacting, and she’s sorry she didn’t talk to him for several days, and are they still together? And if Walky says “well, uh, no, because Dorothy came by and she’s been super depressed an’ we banged an’ I’m back with her sorry”, that is entirely Lucy’s problem. He did not cheat on her; he did not wrong her. Neither did she wrong him, but she did lose him and she’s gotta live with it and move on!
I personally agree with you, and don’t really want to spend time down that particular Overdone Trope road, but I can understand why people think that’s where their GPS is pointing them based on context and the kind of comic setting this is. Tropes like that come from somewhere, and it’s often silly college students and high school students who don’t communicate well and make a lot of dramatic assumptions about others and their relationships
Because there’s benefit in clear communication, and using excuses to pretend it’s clear, while never actually communicating clearlgpg, IS BAD.
It wasn’t clear that they broke up.
If you are in a relationship, don’t use these comic strips as your guidebook about how to be clear at communicating.
Walky’s last comment has me making concerned faces at this hookup, but his second to last expression doesn’t necessarily look like he’s lying? It looks like a slight smile.
Lots of “hmmmm”’ing from me lol. I like these two together, but something’s got my hackles raised.
he’s looking off to the side though – I think his mind bounced elsewhere. whether it’s an innocuous random adhd thought, or some*one* else popped into his head… well… actually, those aren’t even mutually exclusive. but, maximum drama would come from the latter.
Yeah, I think the second to last panel might be him biting his lower lip or a slight smile. It is his expression in the last panel that to me speaks more for regret or something. I think maybe my concern comes less from anything Walky is doing, and more by the fact that the difference between his expressions and Dorthory’s pure and obvious contentment speaks to a discrepancy in how they may be feeling about this act or if it constitutes a renewal of their romantic relationship.
Also, I like that you use the expression “my hackles are raised.” I have not heard that one in while. It is good to know it is still in circulation.
The same commentariat: But are Lucy and Walky REALLY broken up? She never turned in the deed of ownership to his body so TECHNICALLY he’s cheating on her
I am thrilled that they are (hopefully) getting back together. I thought they were good for each other. Walky has helped Dorothy by letting her relax a bit and handle the stress; Dorothy has helped Walky show a bit more maturity and focus on what is important to him and to work for it.
They’re in way different places now. I don’t think this is going to be a smooth reconnection. Maybe they can keep it casual, but I feel like they’re already on different wavelengths.
I worry that Dorothy is going to act like “we never left” and Walky is going to be uncomfortable with that narrativization. You can sort of see it here already.
I mean, I am expecting it’s not going to be that easy, but I do kinda get the feeling Dorothy *really* needed this. Walky, too, maybe, but Dorothy especially.
The purple sheets match Dorothy’s from when she was sitting cross legged in bed.
We didn’t see Walky in bed earlier, but we did see his bed and it had a blue cover on it, so possibly purple sheets under the blue cover, but doubtful.
That aside, since I wouldn’t want to deal with Booster’s mouth if I were them, I’d go to her room.
I’m guessing Dorothy’s because I would imagine the thought of owning lavender bed sheets and purple pillowcases would set off walky’s insecure masculinity
Normally I’d be saying something negative about Walky and how this is really not good for either of them but he got his dick wet so high five for Walky I guess
Hopefully it’s one and done, get it out of your system kind of thing
There are stories of twins separated at birth and when they are reunited their lives are almost identical, spouse with the same name or looking almostidentical, same job, same car. Stuff like that
Dorothy and Walky clearly have intense physical attraction for each other, and they do share hobbies and a similar sense of humour. They aren’t a BAD couple, but I still feel that, in the long term, Walky is not a good match for Dorothy UNLESS she really decides to give up on her long-term dreams of becoming Prez or some other “make a difference in the world” goals. Walky is a good grounding force, yes, but someone who aspires to do the kinds of things Dorothy wants to do really NEEDS someone who can be their responsible support behind the scenes, who will push her when she needs it, and comfort her when she stumbles. Walky is not that kind of person. He’s allergic to responsibility and he doesn’t really want more out of life other than just coasting through it with someone he loves, doing things they enjoy. (Note that I am not saying that’s a bad goal out of life. It’s just that it’s going to clash quite strongly with someone who wants big things out of life.) We’ve already seen that Walky basically needed someone to get his life in order; first it was Dorothy, then it was Amber, then it was Lucy. But if Dorothy spends her time and life doing this for Walky, then she will not be able to devote her time and energy to achieving those big things. Eventually, it will start to feel like Walky’s holding her back, and the love will slowly turn to resentment. I’ve seen this before, in a number of relationships, where one partner is basically the one doing most of the work and keeping the couple together and moving forward and eventually they start feeling resentful that they’re putting all the work in and the other person doesn’t seem to realize what a sacrifice they’re making for them.
That’s what she says now, yes. And perhaps she really has decided that becoming Prez is more trouble than it’s worth. But I don’t think she’s completely given up the dream of wanting to do “big things” with her life. She might not be President, but she might still aspire to start her own business, manage a charity, become a filmmaker, who knows. Someone whose name is known, and who perhaps has “clout”, even if she’s not the President of the free world. That may not gel too well with Walky who basically shuns the limelight and just wants to coast through life with his beloved.
Was a full break up really what Lucy asked for? Up until now, I had always understood it as putting it on pause until they were more clear about where they are.
I imagine the punchline here is that Walky feels a lot of regret about him and Lucy but I can’t quite shake the feeling that he’s ominously talking around something else in his love life.
They did do it!
Both clothed. :O
Dorothy is happy. :OO
Walky in the verge of kind of a mental breakdown. :OOO
Both Walkerton twins getting it on at the same time. :OOOOOOOOO
COVID has killed more people and caused more damage all over the world than eleven 9/11s.
But do the majority of people in the United States feel compelled to NEVER FORGET the pandemic and the impact it had on countless people all over the world, including disabled folk and minorities that were hit by it the hardest? NO!
I don’t think it’s that weird to think about when it’s not just been something the comic has explicitly pointed out, but Danny getting huffy about it was a slow domino meme to him and Sal getting together!
i hope they used protection.
the last thing she needs is a mental breakdown because she’s trying to not be everyone’s caretaker, and here comes the baby in need of caretaking.
like you think it’s at all possible you’ve been exposed to a torrent of anti-abortion lies? Since nobody’s taking Michelle Wolf’s word on it, actual research has shown that the harassment is the primary cause of emotional strain.
Women are often happy and relieved to get an abortion. It’s still at the least a hassle and a strain. Almost always they would be happier not to have needed one in the fist place.
We are working on that, we booted the Right wing government out
As for Michelle Wolf I’ve seen a skit from her and the cheery way she was praising abortion filled me with disgust. There is nothing cheery about it.
(1) I think he’s realizing that he’s in another Lucy situation: Dorothy thinks they’ve rewound a few weeks and they’re a couple again, but I don’t think that’s what he had in mind.
(2) If Lucy just wanted some space to sort things out, and comes around again, now there are two girls who think they’re in sole posession.
I feel like this is a less bad choice than people think
Dorothy needs to sort her life stuff for sure… but calming down her ambitions enough to have a social life is probably gonna be part of that and she doesn’t exactly have a reason for Walky not to be involved
Jokes aside the only way this doesn’t turn bad is if they accept this as just a fling
It would be a mess which I like but it mostly gives me nothing outside of it being sweet to see them both pull down some of the walls. Wally looks so cute here
Also my story hope is Dorothy falls into a dramatic mess realising she has feelings for Joyce and after dealing with that falls for a women we haven’t met yet, or Billie cause that would be funny
…the hoodie stays on?????
The hoodie is probably a decent part of his appeal to dorothy lol, the laid back nature that makes them a good couple.
I would think the hoodie (and shirt) is also part of his appeal… a body like sculpted caramel and all that
‘Parently, everything did. The horn was greater than… something.
She wants to be sure that it will smell like her till Walky cleans it next, which knowing him will be when the Sun finally consumes the Earth and washes the grime away nuclear fire.
That’s how you know they were horny. Pure efficiency, no unnecessary stripping. Any%
Not glitchless, though. Around the 4:13 mark, she did perform a tricky maneuver that required a jump cancel and the arrow duplication exploit.(they’re running the 1.80 version, before that got patched out)
I mean, it’s called a quickie for a reason.
It looks like EVERYTHING stayed on!
Speak of the devil, there’s Dorothy! XD
Man. I. really don’t think this was a good choice for them. But yada yada ‘it’s called dumbing of age’ so… might as well see what’s gonna happen.
Panel 4 and 5 Walky seem to indicate that he agrees with you.
Twin fuck synergy is real! I think maybe they were off by a few minutes though.
i think if there was that much walkerton sex going on at the same time, i think the universe would explode
Thank goodness Walky’s a procrastinator.
DYW has clearly gotten tired of trying to cleverly censor his work and as such the clothes are staying on in all future sex scenes.
Aw, they were in a hurry!
I assume this means her phone was safely recovered, then?
Did you give it back?
Yee.
Also, you said you work in television, right?
Count yourself lucky that a majority of viewers don’t have to interact with content on the screen. 😵👩💻
Slow and Personalized: Another Dumbing of Age Pornographique
Yup. I don’t think it is a coincidence that we are getting both Walkertons fucking back to back.
Figuratively, of course.
As I said elsewhere, Willis has an opportunity to pull a real Steamed Hams on his Slipshine customers
“But what if I were to edit portions of Walky Performs a Sex and release it as a new Slipshine? Delightfully devilish, David.”
Or slide in panels from other Walky and Dorothy Slipshines.
Aw, jeez, Walky.
WOWZA
They don’t have long hair so the clothes stay on.
Slipshine mode: engaged
Well, now! Sal+Dan fuckin’ = done. And, bonus: Dor+Wal fuckin’ done. So we are cleared for Joy+Joe fuckin’!
JoyJoe: A Very Modest Fuckening
That hoodie has in fact not been washed since the last time they fucked
I’m sure they’re both mature enough that this won’t cause problems.
I mean… I actually think that’s a possibility. Dorothy is finally being honest about her wants and how lost she feels, and Walky has been working on himself as a person and is untangling what’s expected of him from what is good for him. Idk, I feel like his hesitation was more about Amber than Lucy

It’s been like… 3 weeks?
Lucy is extremely checklist, she’s even revised-from-being-into-joyce checklist
They’ve already been through too much, it’s time for them to have some good times.
So, JoJo got nekid and didn’t. They did it, but fully clothed.
Almost naked.
https://www.dumbingofage.com/borrow-3/
aside from the obvious comfortableness of the situation here
those lines do not make me feel like good things will happy to our heroes. . .
She owes him an apology.
I actually think that is the exact opposite of what he needs. If she apologizes then he’ll just say “don’t worry about it,” and Dorothy will assume everything is fine. He needs a chance to talk about what happened and how he feels. Not one party apologizing to the other.
Bingo. He’d recognize any apology as a ritual and treat it as such.

Walky is essentially doing her a favor here. And using the opportunity himself to let off some stress
Dont forget when she showed up he asked- Is that lucy?
true
Are Walky and Lucy broken up? Was it intended to be ambiguous?
It was a Lucy side splitting so I think that’s more likely of a break to stick than if it had been Walky side.
That’s not a problem, don’t worry too much.
Sure, what’s another ticking drama bomb compared to the joy of one of my favorite ships returning to port?
Well, it’s ambiguous now.
It was entirely unambiguous. Walky’s ass got dumped.
The rest of him, too.

Some people are used to fighting, expect fights to happen, and expect them to have no consequences.
For others, one fight is a dealbreaker.
They’ve been talking past each other for weeks.
Walky and Lucy, or the comment factions?
It’d have to be the former if it’s only a matter of weeks. The latter has been going on for years.
Showing up to carrying on like nothing had happened would be unreasonable.
Showing up to thank him for giving her space and to talk about a way forward would be more so.
And Lucy isn’t exactly an expert at navigating either break ups or fights, so her approach could easily be miscalibrated.
If she shows up to have an adult conversation, which I hope she doesn’t, then it’s on Walky to be a good, honest dude and tell her “I don’t think we’re a thing anymore, Luce, not least of all cause I’m bangin’ Dorothy again. 🫤”

Lucy telling Walky he was a piece of shit and dumping him was the spark that made him truly interested.
Wow, Walky and I have very different turn-ons.
She owes him an apology.
For what?
Commentariat: Dorothy owes Walky an apology!!!
The same commentariat: But are Lucy and Walky REALLY broken up? She never turned in the deed of ownership to his body so TECHNICALLY he’s cheating on her
Yes, I know that this slight distraction from Walky makes me suspicious, but without fear of being wrong, I do want them both to come back.
My money says it’s the part of him that wants to go back to Amber
Walky’s concern regarding Dorothy is probably same as usual: she can’t decide how serious she wants their relationship to be, and it drives him crazy.
Same. My hackles are raised in a way I haven’t experienced reading this comic before honestly.
Hell yeah, clothed sex. In so much of a rush they didn’t even bother stripping, we love to see it.
That sweater vest is kinda bunched up around her neck, so there was a little boobage-beeping going on.
We do like to beep a boob on occasion.
Hmm, I’m not very observant. HIS shirt is hiked up too.
Mutual boob-beeping’ confirmed.
She does canonically like his nipples.
I am thrilled that they are (hopefully) getting back together. I thought they were good for each other. Walky has helped Dorothy by letting her relax a bit and handle the stress; Dorothy has helped Walky show a bit more maturity and focus on what is important to him and to work for it.
I agree, they have contributed something to each other, which has already established great trust.
They’re in way different places now. I don’t think this is going to be a smooth reconnection. Maybe they can keep it casual, but I feel like they’re already on different wavelengths.
It’s very much not like nothing every stopped. That’s what Walky’s saying. This is a consolation fuck, they both needed consoling.
I worry that Dorothy is going to act like “we never left” and Walky is going to be uncomfortable with that narrativization. You can sort of see it here already.
And now all Dorothy’s problems are over!
No, but she may be able to pursue what makes her happy without having to meet impossible standards.
Sex where the clothes don’t come off is oftentimes really good sex.
Thank you Willis; can’t wait to see how you break our hearts next.
Sh! Don’t encourage him!
“So, while I’ve got you here, Joyce had a question…”
Wow, just, goddamn.
I mean, I am expecting it’s not going to be that easy, but I do kinda get the feeling Dorothy *really* needed this. Walky, too, maybe, but Dorothy especially.
Also, I don’t see a condom so Dorothy is definitely gonna have triplets next chapter.
What the fuck is a “the pill”?!
It’s the title of several songs, each by a different musician/band.
Sometimes they’re jagged, sometimes less so.
She’s on birth control. It’s been talked about.
That doesn’t matter.
Triplets? You underestimate the power of her uterus! Quintuplets at least!
They’re very large triplets, big enough for five normal-sized kids.
ouch, maybe she can get a caesarean
But how will Linda blame it on Sal?
She was a bad influence on Walky.
“I missed your ahegao face.”
“BLEAH!”
I’m so glad someone else has picked up on the ick here.
The ick? It was supposed to be a stupid ahegao noise.
I’m going to DIE, they’re so cute!
Hey siri, play “Baby, You Can Leave Your Hoodie On” by Joe Cocker.
oh no
oh no plz don’t let this be backslide
This will end very, very badly.
Seems like it ended pretty well.
Slipshines, slipshines everywhere!
Are they in Walky’s room or Dorothy’s?
I ask because Lucy has a much higher chance of showing up at the former and making this Awkward Squared.
The purple sheets match Dorothy’s from when she was sitting cross legged in bed.
We didn’t see Walky in bed earlier, but we did see his bed and it had a blue cover on it, so possibly purple sheets under the blue cover, but doubtful.
That aside, since I wouldn’t want to deal with Booster’s mouth if I were them, I’d go to her room.
https://www.dumbingofage.com/2023/comic/book-14/02-its-the-love-i-havent-got/transally/ also from this strip his sheets seem to have the Head Alien all over them, so it’s definitely not his bed they’re in currently.
I wanted to use the most recent strip just in case he changed his sheets.
It’s Walky, so he probably hasn’t, but I wanted to be careful just in case.
Understood! It does make me wonder how often the characters do change or wash their bedding…
Pretty sure that’d just be a triangle.
Maybe if Amber and Danny showed up.
So is panel number 4 Walky realizing that what he just said was true or realizing that it was false?
I interpreted it as registering the difference between what he just said and what Dorothy just said.
Love love Dorothy’s face in panel 1
DOROTHY CANONICALLY KEEPS THE GLASSES ON, VINDICATION FOR ME
This time she did. The first time she did not. https://www.dumbingofage.com/2014/comic/book-4/01-the-only-dope-for-me-is-you/cooties/
She keeps them on until they fly off in the heat of passion! You can’t fool me, I’ve read Walky Performs a Sex many many times!
February 2014? This is the longest Freshman Year ever.
Quite a difference in Walkys response. All smiles and the best day of his life in the first vs. the very wary half smile here.
For some reason, the idea of Sal and Walky having sex at the same time makes me mildly uncomfortable.
Though not as uncomfortable as the idea of Danny have sex at the same time as anyone.
Is twin synchronicity a real phenomenon?
There are stories of twins separated at birth and when they are reunited their lives are almost identical, spouse with the same name or looking almostidentical, same job, same car. Stuff like that
As long as they’re not fucking each other, it’s 100% on the level.
Holding hands while fucking other people?
Maybe not that far, but I could see allowances for mutually smug grins and a solid fist bump.
I can’t imagine how uncomfortable it must be to have sex in a buttoned up collared shirt and sweater vest
. Ack the horror
If you’re feeling horror at it, then apparently you are imagining it.
Some people automatically imagine everything they hear or read. They suffer a lot.
I’m imagining those people imagining things.
I don’t get the appeal of this relationship. But I’m also a Walky hater so…
Dorothy and Walky clearly have intense physical attraction for each other, and they do share hobbies and a similar sense of humour.
Dorothy already gave up on her goal of being president though.
That’s what kicked off this entire arc for her of feeling lost. She even sang a whole song about it, with a repeating lyric of “I’m not ok…”
We’ve missed you guys too
Another Dotty and Walky strip where replacing the normal punchline with “Christ, what an asshole” leads to a rather different result than usual.
Thank you, I needed that.
Dorothy could either be very upset or appreciative of the compliment
“Yep, just a continuous uninterrupted feeling of Christ what an asshole.”
With her glasses on… So she can see that face?
I got this reference
Was a full break up really what Lucy asked for? Up until now, I had always understood it as putting it on pause until they were more clear about where they are.
Well, I guess it’s at least clear for Walky, now.
I had understood it as storming off in a huff to think things through.
Perhaps we can sustain burying our heads in the sand, who needs air right?
both the twins got laid at the same time. ironically by people their mother would approve of.
Who previously banged each other.
I imagine the punchline here is that Walky feels a lot of regret about him and Lucy but I can’t quite shake the feeling that he’s ominously talking around something else in his love life.
Slow down, Buster. You had to “leave” to undergo “The Undoing of Dorothy Keener”
Dunno, feels like Dorothy should be the default doodle for THIS book instead of 13
So many things to unpack here.
They did do it!
Both clothed. :O
Dorothy is happy. :OO
Walky in the verge of kind of a mental breakdown. :OOO
Both Walkerton twins getting it on at the same time. :OOOOOOOOO
This is cute and seems healthy, but keeping that many clothes on is weird.
Eh sometimes some clothes on is hot for some reason
Also makes it easier to avoid tiddy discretion shot.
Keeping clothes on certainly would make it hotter
agreed. Skin-to-skin contact is vital for sex.
I assure you it’s not. Clothes on, condom on, done both at once and everyone still has fun every time.
No time for taking them off.
“A second Walky fuck has hit the future president”
A 9/11 joke? It’s only been 23 years.
It’s still hard to grasp the fact that there were soldiers fighting in Afghanistan who weren’t alive when 9/11 happened…
I keep forgetting they built an ugly-ass new tower on the spot. Completely unnecessary, they shoulda made it a park.
You can never have too many trees
COVID has killed more people and caused more damage all over the world than eleven 9/11s.
But do the majority of people in the United States feel compelled to NEVER FORGET the pandemic and the impact it had on countless people all over the world, including disabled folk and minorities that were hit by it the hardest? NO!
COVID has killed more Americans than every conflict the US has been involved in since the American Civil War combined. By almost a factor of two.
10 million square feet of office space were destroyed on 9/11, that’s what we’re supposed to be never forgetting.
Seems both Walkerton twins are getting some tonight…
With people who have slept with each other!
Is that weird to think about? Probably! But I thought about it for some reason!
Just try to ignore the potential icky pattern that Walky has been systematically dating Danny’s ex’s.
Hopefully Lucy broke that cycle.
I don’t think Danny and Lucy have any chemistry but if Sal and him broke up it would lead to some very funny “yeah, how do YOU like it, fucker?!”
Oh come on, he did that twice and didn’t even know he was doing it at the time. That’s hardly “systematic” or “icky”.
The joke was that it’s “potentially” icky because if the pattern continues he’d have to date his sister, and dating his sister is icky.
It might be fun to be a stickler about this. Walky only dated one of Danny’s exes, Dorothy.
Danny was with AG. Walky had a situationship with Amber.
I don’t think it’s that weird to think about when it’s not just been something the comic has explicitly pointed out, but Danny getting huffy about it was a slow domino meme to him and Sal getting together!
Walky’s got that sheet-grab going, just like Joyce had. It’s quite the sign of something going on off-panel.
I wonder if this is the strip where Willis had asked if it’s ok to show orgasm.
Fourth and fifth panels: This is fine. It’s all fine. No problems at all.
How are you?
“Yeah, we’re sending a squad up.”
LUKE!
Negative! Negative! A reactor leak here, uh, now…large leak, very dangerous!
I feel like Walky is written to be kind of aware that he’s in a comic strip and to kind of resent that he can’t stop thinking about it.
zigzagging? Is that what kids are calling it now days?
Ug.
Sex with clothes on. Come on people, skin-to-skin contact should be maximized for sex.
Kids today.
You have to be prepared to everthing. What if there’s a sudden tornado? Or someone choking in breakfeast?
I’m not here yuckin your yums, am I?
David “Rebound Master” Walkerton taps again
i hope they used protection.
the last thing she needs is a mental breakdown because she’s trying to not be everyone’s caretaker, and here comes the baby in need of caretaking.
She would probably just get an abortion if she wasn’t ready for a baby
That would still put an emotional strain on her. Contrary to what Michelle Wolf would have people believe it’s not all sunshine and song :-/
doesn’t your country have a total abortion ban?
like you think it’s at all possible you’ve been exposed to a torrent of anti-abortion lies? Since nobody’s taking Michelle Wolf’s word on it, actual research has shown that the harassment is the primary cause of emotional strain.
Make no mistake, I fully support the right of women to abortion. But trying to sell it as something happy, nice and cheerful fills me with disgust.
Was reading this earlier today, it was linked from an Intercept article. People in fact can feel happy about having an abortion, especially if the pregnancy was unplanned. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/post-abortion-syndrome#emotions
Filled with disgust or not, you’re wrong.
According to Walky the only protection Dorothy doesn’t have is a nuke-style double key.
Walky is such a deer in the headlights here. The women in his life project so much onto him and he’s just not prepared for it.
Indeed.
This will backfire painfully on them… Good! More drama.
Jokes aside the only way this doesn’t turn bad is if they accept this as just a fling
It would be a mess which I like but it mostly gives me nothing outside of it being sweet to see them both pull down some of the walls. Wally looks so cute here
Walky* autocorrect really not being my friend
Also my story hope is Dorothy falls into a dramatic mess realising she has feelings for Joyce and after dealing with that falls for a women we haven’t met yet, or Billie cause that would be funny
That would actually be a perfect slipshine title —
“Flinging it with you!”
basically “Tales of Sinterest” except post timeskip LOL
Walky didn’t get orgasm flowers. Confirmed: male orgasm is a myth.
Guys brag constantly about how much they get off. Just more toxically masculine bluster, shaking my smh
So if Joe is hitting the showers with Danny, where’s Joyce?
Joyce was last seen in her own dorm room, changing clothes while talking to Sarah.
I think she was last seen in her room with Sarah badgering her about taking her contraception.
Don’t forget the soda 🥤
Lots of it too XD
