It helps that the server time seems to be constantly slipping, so there’s no real way to know *when* the comics post. I used to come here right at 11pm CT, but now, I tend to wait until I see Lord Willis post the link on Bluesky.
I have a Discord bot that keeps track of the server time so it can check right when the new comic goes online 🙂 I usually get here at 0 comments if I’m online when the notification comes through. add me @easrng if you have a server you want it in.
Back when I was living in my original home country, the comic used to update either Midnight or 2 AM depending on the time of the year.
Now where I live it updates at 6 AM (plus 10 to 15 minutes, give or take), so unless I got a morning shift I don’t get to be one of the early commenters anymore lol
That seems an awfully negative spin to put on that chair.
Why not the oral sex chair?
The Director’s chair?
The GM’s chair?
The “I need to sit down to put on these shoes” chair?
i wouldn’t take it too seriously, it’s from a Lonely Island song (the Saturday Night Live duo comprised of bros Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake, probably best known for their first single, “Dick in a Box”, also behind “And I Threw it on the Ground”, and apparently they were featured in the LEGO Movie’s “Everything is Awesome”?)
The Lonely Island is actually Andy Samberg and two other comedians who’s names I can never remember (I think they were vaguely nordic names like Jan and Sven or something like that), that trilogy of songs/music videos are actually The Lonely Island featuring Justin Timberlake, many of their songs have featured various other celebrities, likely due to their SNL connections.
IIRC The Lonely Island got their start doing the web originals for SNL, much like the current trio of Please Don’t Destroy, although the latter group seems less musically inclined.
Timberlake is not a part of Lonely Island, though he did collaborate with them on Dick in a Box, Mother Lover, and The Golden Rule (which is the one about a threesome).
Oh good lord, this is getting… at this point there’s going to be SOME kind of payoff. I’m not sure it’d be a ship yet, but like, at this point it’s so blatant it’s gotta be intentional.
I’ve been talking about how Dorothy and Joyce are going to end up in some form of polycule for a while now, it’s great to see it as more than speculation though. ~<3
Yeaaaaah, naw. SOMETHING is going to happen here. Bi Dorothy is canon. This polycule is being teased way too much to not happen, even if it takes ten years. Walky’s friends kissy chart is an ouroboros for a reason.
What I’m fucking impressed ATM is how easily Dorothy is saying this. No “what if this ruins our friendship” – She went straight to “yeah this attractive friend of us wants to see us bone btw, if you’re interested.”
I’m wondering where this is gonna go. Walky did “jokingly” mention being in a polycule with Lucy and Amber. So I think at least he’d be open to the idea of a V type situation with Dorothy as the hinge. I don’t think Walky and Joyce would be interested in each other, but they could make semi-peaceable metamours.
Although I think bi Joyce is more canon than bi Dorothy at this point. She might be floating around the idea because she’s thinking of Joyce as a lost sheep.
… Now that I typed that part out loud, I realize how incredibly stupid that sounds and I’m really looking at a gay ship or some really heinous queerbaiting.
Personally, I’d be bothered by a bi- or lesbian Joyce, if only because that would feel like a massive betrayal of Becky, like, if there was any room at all for attraction to women, this seems way too late to be factoring it in IMO (sure, in-universe it’s only been a few months, but still). If Joyce got with Dorothy, it could pretty much only lead to more pointless drama with Becky (because it would be *super* out of character for her not to blow up about that) and I’m still kinda sick of it from the last time they had a falling out.
I also really like the mutual character growth going on between Joyce and Joe, they’ve always been really good for each other and I’m glad that’s finally going somewhere, I don’t wanna see that messed up (and while Joyce isn’t Christian anymore, I’m not sure I could see her going poly, let alone handling being in a poly relationship very well, she doesn’t like sharing and doesn’t like her food touching afterall).
It’s not a betrayal of Becky to figure out she likes women. Becky might FEEL betrayed, but that doesn’t make it factually true.
Being into [gender] doesn’t mean being into [all people of that gender] or owing anything to [people of said gender] when they express attraction to you.
as someone who’s bi, had their childhood best friend kiss them before they realized it, and told that friend “hey can you not do that, that makes me uncomfortable”, i personally have no issue with bi-joyce because she doesnt have to return becky’s feelings. sometimes that’s just what happens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’m still a little confused about Dorothy self describing herself to Danny as a Kinsey zero half a year back. I’d have thought she’d know. Of course she may just be acknowledging the objective hotness of our busty, blond protagonist, rather than actively wanting some of that.
I spent about 6-8 years “appreciating objectively hot bodies” before admitting I was just bi. It takes a while to break down that Christian upbringing and admit you might possibly be queer.
We’re in the “clueless bisexual” phase of the friendship. There are several ways it could go from here as pressure builds, either becoming more volatile and exploding or simply combusting and condensing into a more stable state. We’ll see (though it might take another ten years to get there)
I’m not saying it won’t happen, but Dorothy might just be calling back to the last time she and Walky were together, and Walky said Joyce was attractive. Or, “not UNattractive.” Dorothy playfully ribbed him for it then and might be still doing so now. Too lazy to find the exact strip, but it was how Walky said he knew Ethan was gay.
I mean that Walky and Joyce’s interactions are like, playground-level conflict nonsense. They give off Calvin and Susie vibes, but if those two met in their 20s. They don’t get along and neither one of them could tell you precisely *why*, just “that one sucks!”
Additionally, there’s a lot about Walky that’s got a Calvin flavor to it—he’s a liminal boy, caught with one foot in the comfortable territory of childhood and one foot in the awful reality of now, and kind of aware of it, at least aware enough to be a little uncomfortable. I don’t actually think he’s a manchild, not according to the traditional slang anyway; he’s more like Peter Pan, perfectly aware that a non-faerie world exists but he interacts with it under duress.
I’m pretty sure he just doesn’t see Joyce that way.
He admitted a long time ago that she was physically attractive, as Ethan’s being unaffected by her attractiveness is how he realized the man was gay.
Also, I’m not sure having another person watch counts as a threesome, especially when they’re doing so from behind a curtain.
I’m pretty sure that’s “just” voyeurism/exhibitionism.
Walky, I’m sorry the person you are hoping to to rekindle a relationship with, instantly wanted to have a three way with the person she’s been training to be and adult, after she had recently taught said project how to violate an innocent dryer in the middle of the day.
Who is also currently in her very first committed monogamous relationship.
Christ, dude, the next time you want to type out something like this as a zinger or some shit, try reading it out loud to someone who doesn’t care and internalize the look they give you
And then don’t post this
Makes me wish the flag option was just a mute toggle
I find myself curious how Joe would feel about Joyce watching other people have sex. I guess he’d probably be supportive, he’s been pretty open-minded sexually. But I wonder if now that he’s on a monogamous relationship, he might feel more territorial.
I mean, Joe has been pretty supportive of Joyce in a lot of areas, but, personally, I would understand if having his relatively new girlfriend watching her best friend have sex might be a little too much for him. I wouldn’t even call that being territorial, frankly.
If I was Joe: on the one hand I would feel a little jealousy, and would want to be involved. On the other hand, Joyce has a lot of anxiety around the subject, and I want to be supportive of her learning.
Basically I have no idea what I would do if I was in Joe’s shoes.
Boring real talk version: It would probably take a pretty serious conversation and healthy boundaries, it could go either way; he’s stated he feels it’s very important for Joyce to have what she wants, but also yeah the situation is very weird. Also they’re all dumb kids and probably Dorothy snarks at him and the well is poisoned, so.
FUNNY JOKES VERSION:
Joe: …Can I volunteer, here? As tribute? Because it feels like I should volunteer as tribute.
Walky: I mean us tryin’ to do it with Joyce there WOULD be like the Hunger Games.
Old Joe apparently has HAD threesomes, if we’re to believe the multiple references from older comics. For all the Do List implications, he did get around for realsies.
… Getting feelings involved tho. I wanna see what happens. That’s potential interpersonal conflict(s) right here.
He’s hinted that he’s aware of Dotty’s feelings for Joyce, and he wonders if she feels the same. He’s half-assedly brought it up at least once, after the bar night, questioning if Joyce wouldn’t be happier with Dotty.
I have a feeling he’d walk so she could be happy with Dotty, if that’s what Joyce wanted.
I still think Joyce is straighter then a T square in a Cracker Barrel though.
This makes me very happy, I want Walky and Dorothy to be happy, they deserve it and I argue that they’re beneficial to navigating what each other is going through, they were always very supportive of each other.
Despite all the setbacks they had to go through, the interaction is still valid, and yes, Dorothy/Walky is a ship that is still loved (and I included myself)
I kind of hope it does happen, but Walky just immediately cuts her off with a, “No. No you made it VERY clear we are through. No. I am done. Go away. Do NOT talk to me again,” type retort
Both to show growth for Walky and to just
COMPLETELY shut down that pair ever happening again
The Ross/Rachel drama happened because execs thought it would make the show more popular on 90’s TV. DoA isn’t a 90’s TV show, it’s a webcomic made by kind of a weird guy (if only by virtue of making a webcomic) who doesn’t care about ratings, and Walky/Lucy is probably the least popular pairing in the whole run of the comic by like, a significant margin.
It also felt like them going, hey, we set up a conflict between these two characters based on their current goals and personalities, and it’s not super easy to create a running gag from it… what if we introduced an additional issue that completely took away from the original difficulties so we could all just focus on that.
I’m amused by combining “doesn’t care about ratings” and “the least popular pairing”.
Mostly though, Willis does care about drama and character arcs and it feels weird to me to set up the Lucy relationship and just have it fizzle out with no real dramatic payoff.
I doubt it’s going to be the “we hadn’t really broken up” thing, but I’ll bet that’s not over and there’s another shoe to drop from that.
See, I’d actually like for them to be platonic friends. They seemed to be good there. But, that’s also how I tend to lean, and not everyone thinks that way. And I don’t know if Dorothy would be secure enough to be okay with that. (Although if she was feeling sufficiently secure, I feel like she might be okay with it because it seems like the rational choice, the high road, etc..)
I want to see Walky get shat on instead. They both did poor communicating, but he knew he was doing a bad job communicating. I want to see Walky willing to and trying to rekindle _anything_, romantic or friendship, and have her realize that she’s not even interested in friendship with him, that it was all the crush.
I want her to be making friends with people who have fun with her, and she has fun with, and it’s not some desperate adolescent popularity contest. Just genuinely having a good time hanging out. But also because I’m petty, I want it to be with Ken, and I want them laughing loud and often, and Walky can hear it through the half-bath, while he’s staring at Mike’s “You’re Fucked” poster.
We all agree that no one enjoyed that ship, what’s more, it seems that Jacob may show interest in Lucy and that is something that Sarah is going to avoid at all costs.
I am concerned that this is a secret Dorothy should not have shared. Joyce would be mortified to learn that Walky was privy to that particular drunken insight into her mind.
Well, let’s keep in mind that they were drunk, so maybe Joyce was just trying to make a joke, but she didn’t know how to say it well (but I remember that in previous vignettes she did want to see Sal and Danny in action)
So Walky didn’t get [too] weirded out at the idea of Joyce watching them have sex and they both admit even if indirectly to finding her attractive. May have to go buy some popcorn.
When I was about 20 and living with my friends in a uni-student commune, my best friend met a girl over the summer and brought her into our friends circle and our lives.
Her voice was annoying, and suddenly I went from spending most of my time with him to the periphery of of his attention.
I saw the lady in question fully naked for anextended time when they were both being body painted, and I was unmoved and bored.
TL: DR, because I disliked her I couldn’t see her as attractive. Later we started getting along and I got to know her, and I realsed she’s actually ridiculously hot, to a ”pick your Hollywood actress” level.
I’m a horny heterosexual, especially as the 20 year old me, but our minds are complicated things.
The attraction being an element is kind of weird, at least in context of the original suggestion. She was going to hide behind a curtain and watch – why does it matter if she’s hot?
That’s less clear here and the way it’s phrased, Walky could easily take it as a something closer to an actual threesome with Joyce involved, where it would matter.
“okay, fine, I get it, we’re pretending [x] isn’t attractive” does sound like normal pillow talk to me, tbh (but then, my partner and I are both disaster bisexuals)
Speaking of disaster bisexuals… Dorothy, are you saying you’re a disaster bisexual? Er… sorry, that’d be distinguished bi, my bad
No.
Jennifer knew she liked both males and females, but what she denied was the label and sometimes even the idea of an actual bisexual person, not the attraction she had.
Dorothy stated long ago that she had no attraction towards women, and any change since then has not been verbalized on screen to anyone, not even to herself, and actions supporting a change could still be interpreted as her not realizing it herself.
She’s having Realizations but not claiming the label yet, which is kind of understandable tbh? If she feels she needs more data? So she’s chill about it because nothing wrong with being a lil’ bi.
Meanwhile the problem with Billie was that she billieved Bisexuality DIDN’T EXIST despite being in a committed relationship with another woman :’DD
If that’s the one I’m thinking of, she eventually came out as bi.
And for Billie, I think it was, because she wasn’t straight with an exception. She was a normal, I mean straight, girl who was attracted to girls like everyone is. She was in denial and probably mostly because being queer didn’t fit her fragile alpha cheerleader self-image.
Dorothy explicitly stated forever ago that she would rate herself as a 2 on the Kinsey Scale, meaning that she’s at least somewhat sexually attracted to women, and she’s aware of that fact.
If at some other point she denied ever being attracted to women, I don’t recall it.
Old Joe intentionally man whore’ed himself because he feared he carried the same “Cheating Bastard” gene as his father.
So instead of trying to fight it and failing, he basically went “I will only have flings, I will loudly and openly proclaim I am only there for flings, and that way, I can’t break anyone’s heart.”
Then he fell dick-first into every 80’s horn dog trope he could find.
I have a feeling if things keep going on this direction, Walky will just wash his hands of being in a fulfilling sexual relationship, and just stick with flings and casual sexual encounters where he won’t just be a prop for other people. Which is really all he’s been for everyone’s he’s banged so far.
He will probably also steal Joe’s favorite Hawaiian shirt.
Welllll,
You might travel down Old Joe Way
If your roommate’s bi or your girlfriend’s gay
If you feel intimidated and you’re not sure what to say
Well then you might be travellin’ down Old Joe Way
Postin up lists in the bathroom stall
Gettin’ off easy cos you’re rugged and tall
Passin’ up feelings just to chase your next lay
Oh, that’s how you travel down Old Joe Way
I guess we’re going to see how much Walky learned about communicating during his zigzag. Like his joke is funny enough, but is he going to get back to someone being attractive doesn’t mean you necessarily want them watching you fuck?
what is even happening?
there are friends who I find attractive but never in my wildest dreams would I suggest to my partner that having the friend watch us have sex would be hot UNLESS we had several conversations beforehand about being interested in threesomes and/or exhibitionism
Dorothy, sis, you’re skipping several steps ahead, too many
it would be like asking Walky if he wants to go ahead and order that bad dragon dildo with the uh “spritzing” attachment BEFORE asking if he’s okay introducing sex toys into your dynamic
It’s on her mind because Joyce asked about it last night.
And she’s falling right back into the old comfortable pattern of the relationship where she can actually talk to him about stuff, without really getting that they’re not back to that yet and he’s not necessarily on the same page as her.
No shame lol, that’s just a startling insight to the way you think that you’re like “yeah, truth be told I kinda want her to watch.” Like, she’s not saying that outright, but the fact that she considers it a potential deal sweetener is definitely something.
I actually don’t ship her and Joyce. Mainly because I ship Joyce and Joe. As one bi to another, she might wanna sort these feelings out at some point though lol.
And to be clear, it’s not startling because watching is bad, it’s just way out of left field for the situation. Like if someone goes “Yeah so I’m housesitting my brother’s dog this weekend” and the other is like “I’m running off to Vegas to get married, can the dog be the ring bearer”
I mean, Joyce has two hands. So does Joe. Unless I’m forgetting someone I’m pretty sure everyone in the comic has two hands so we could get some pretty big ships going.
In the “ten years later” goodbye strips, Joyce, Dorothy, Walky and Joe will live in a particular form of polycule. Joe sleeps only with Joyce, Joyce sleeps with Joe, or Dorothy, or Dorothy and Walky, but not alone with Walky.
I don’t know what kind of story line we would need to see that could eventually result in a Dorothy / Joy sexual dynamic that makes sense (at least to me).
But I’m sure if it ever exists it will be something to behold.
Wowza, Dorothy must be in some sort of like… orgasm bliss brain shit, like she literally had her brain fucked out to try and “sweeten the deal” for Walky by suggesting Joyce sits in the cuck chair.
Also, really not beating the ‘nursing a crush on her best friend’ allegations…
Threesome with/audience of Joyce aside: How did Dorothy keep her glasses on during the act? And why are most of their clothes on? Even my first few unsuccessful times at coitus, it was stripping down and glasses off. I hope she took her bra off at least.
As someone who is legally blind without their glasses, I will confirm that sex with glasses on is perfectly doable.
You can also swim in a pool with them on, provided you consistently move forward in the water, pushing them to your face. Swimming backwards, the water can hold them still while you swim away. Which sucks.
I’ve had a few quickies (erm, um, I mean, I’ve heard about other people having them) with most of the clothes still on, including both participants’ glasses. Because both weren’t sure how much time was available before getting interrupted.
Dorothy keeps underestimating the power of disliking someone personally being able to make them unattractive. Walky can acknowledge that all of Joyce physically is attractive, but the person she is has guaranteed he’ll never want her as a sit-in.
If Dorothy wants to engage in some exhibitionism and make it weird for one of the people in the the room, they should ask Amber.
Since I have absolutely no life, I just read all the strips tagged Dorothy+Walky+Joyce
Maybe it’s just my shipping glasses and desire to see poly representation* in main characters, but both Joyce’s and Walky’s “eeeugh” behaviour towards the other feels more performative than real. Like, they seem actually drawn towards each other, even if it’s just to toss insults. Also, most of their insults don’t read as bad things, like when Joyce referred to Walky as a “human shaped pile of sarcasm and McNuggets” when he was present.
Plus, both of them have stated in a roundabout way that they find the other attractive — Joyce in the churchmouse bit, and Walky when discussing Ethan’s orientation.
Aftter reading all the strips I felt even more that the polycule or at least threesome really needs to happen!
(*: yes I know a threesome is not exactly the same as poly representation, you can have one without the other etc)
After Dorothy browbeat Joyce into masturbating for the first time I don’t think anything would spike my interest in this comic faster than a romantic pairing between the two.
They kinda consider each other family (Joyce said so when she found out Becky ran away, and I almost think Walky feels sisterly to any woman who gives him 💩), but I agree that they’re not exactly friends.
Then again, I’m not sure Walky’s definition of friend matches mine since he has used the word to describe Sarah, and she can barely stand him.
And of course there’s the phrase “friend group” which I believe includes people like Danny who actively hate him.
Probably, that curse is now cock-blocked. Ain’t likely that Walky will sleep with Sal. (ew) Since the curse is a broken, sobbing thing, now Danny can let it go and start his process of healing. (since he ain’t gonna put down the ukulele)
No in that Danny feels possessive over his exes, started hating Walky for that stupid and pitiful reason, and Walky occasionally says something smart to him.
Yes. Sex can result in extreme confidence and feeling entirely integrated with your body, especially the first couple times. It’s kinda hard to be down on yourself while inside of someone (idem vice versa) who trusts you absolutely and gives you their full attention.
…You know Dorothy, it may not be a bad idea for you and Joyce both to have a conversation about…well, you two. It doesn’t necessarily have to lead to anything, but it might be enlightening if nothing else.
You know what? Dorothy using Confuse Ray on Walky is fine… I’m just glad they’re back together because those two were adorkable with each other, and also it was one of the few actually kinda healthy if you squint relationships.
I find it notable that Dorothy is ok with them getting back together officially or not.
She said she’s down and it’s up to him, but she seems genuinely open to them not being a couple again after this.
That’s pretty mature of her to realize that sex, no matter how enjoyable she may have found it or needed it, doesn’t mean they’re suddenly committed again.
Though I’m not sure how she’d feel if he actually said he this was fun, but that he’s still kinda thinking about Lucy and/or Amber.
I THINK her feelings would match her words, but that doesn’t seem to be case with her lately given how it’s being implied more and more that she’s no longer a 0 on the scale when it comes to Joyce.
What do we want?!
A POLYCULE INVOLVING JOYCE AND DOROTHY When do we want it??!
WHEN NARRATIVELY APPROPRIATE Who else should be involved?!?
I VOTE JOE BUT WALKY’S AIGHT TOO I GUESS
I’m still rooting for the Joe/Joyce/Dorothy/Walky/Amber polymer chain. Where no one is actually with anyone but the adjacent links in the chain.
Dorothy knew Joe for too long when he was too young. Joyce and Walky getting together is totally inconceivable; I can’t even imagine a universe where that could happen. Amber’s straight and Dorothy appears to be gay only for Joyce. Joe and Walky won’t kiss no matter how hard Amber tries to use her mind powers to make it happen (and while bribing Walky with food works, it won’t get Joe to go for it). And any time it looks like something might happen between Joe and Amber, she feels compelled to say something memey about “stepbro”, and they both get the gigglefits and it breaks the mood.
Joyce, due to happenstance, has actually been sitting outside the window on Sal’s shoulders during the course of this event is entirely unsure of how to feel.
You know this is still off for me because Dorothy is so desperate and Walky is sort of still “dating” Lucy because they didn’t state it directly…and Dorothy really doesn’t care on that front. Yeah I get it she’s in a bad place, what she needs to do is actually be honest with her therapist to start working through this.
Either way, I’m a bit weirded out that Dorothy immediately went “hey Joyce wants to watch us bang and I’d actually be interested in doing things to her” to Walky, and I think that’s something she would have brought up later if she was in a better headspace.
I love the arc of this strip, from confident Dorothy to Walky aiming right for what Dorothy is avoiding
Oddly Walky is probably approaching this fling in a more healthy way than Dorothy who is now suggesting a way to approach her feelings for Joyce without confronting them
So hype for Dorothy to find herself a girlfriend after all this, perhaps engage in some more radical queer politics. She could be a centrist gay politician but I hope for something more meaningful, it’s Dorothy after all.
I don’t really like the implication that being a centrist (centrist-democrat, not centrist-independent) gay politician wouldn’t be meaningful. Any representation like this would be good representation and have strong meaning, and moreover the villanizing of anything that isn’t The Most Left Thing Possible is overall stupid.
(also she’d probably be bi, but that’s mostly nitpicking with a side of combating the bi erasure that might ensue if she did become this)
Representation is good with the arts and most things in life
Centrism, even if aligned with whatever’s the centrist/not outright conservative political party, is still bad and I don’t care to pretend as if it is a politics that is doing anything else but making things worse. Not being outright conservative does not mean you’re good. The last 6-7 months are proof of that.
I will not go further so I don’t overwhelm Willis with comments to moderate, so I will leave it at that
A reactionary centrist who happens to be bi, like Sinema. Valorizing people who decide not to stand for anything, but to aim to split the difference on everything is outright stupid.
thinking about how the US didn’t get Build Back Better because even though the progressives continually compromised, and agreed to the things the so-called centrists asked for, the centrists kept rug-pulling, never negotiating in good faith, and successfully wasting everyone’s time for a year and getting BBB scuttled, and the progressives got characterized as “villainizing anything that isn’t The Most Left Thing Possible” because of it.
We’ve already HAD a centrist gay politician. For a WHILE now. Pete Buttigieg.
A Gay Centrist Politician is just Acceptability Politics taken to its logical extreme. And acceptability politics is merely passing the buck of who to ostracize to the people weirder than you in order to try and, pointlessly, save your own skin. It isn’t ‘representation’.
I both really like Walky and Dorothy’s new dynamic and really want to see how everything shakes down with Dorothy and Joyce so obviously just going in circles around their attraction to each other…. And i know not how it could all work out, but my polyamorous little heart is HOPING
Dumbing of Age is more or less formatted as (and a bit inspired by) newspaper comic-strips of the Slice of Life kind (like Mary Worth or Luann), but I think that would be the point where the editor would want to have a talk with David and tell him that they can’t do that. Writing an arc where the main protagonist would be willingly watching two of the main cast bonking just for the sake of learning how to sex, would be the line they wouldn’t allow to cross.
Unless, of course he got to have the same editor a the one in charge of 9 Chickweed Lane, somehow.
Well, there has been more than one artists who did Mary Worth and they all have the power to depict things happening with the power of drawing, even outside of their job, so I’d say the chances are non-zero.
Though I’d say is more likely for the one who draw Luann.
The current artist, June Brigman, has also done capes. That doesn’t really address your curiosity, just that she has broader experience than just Brenda Starr and Mary Worth.
If Walky and Dorothy are together again, it’ll be rather interesting. I do feel like there’s likely going to be some fallout with Lucy, but she also might just legitimately be moving on, which is obviously fine. (I say “moving” and not “moved” even if she did seem potentially cool with that being that, because I doubt shit’ll be that tidy. It’s been a matter of days, after all.)
I now kind of wonder if Joyce will even remember having said that, or if she’s kind of repressed it.
Ok, Dorothy really does have some kink. I’m surprised that she assumes Walky does too— that wouldn’t have been my baseline. Maybe she should have stayed with Danny! (Though I’m not sure willingness to Spider-Man with amazing girl translates into being watched by Joyce.)
*deep breath* YEEEEEEEEEEEEDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS HAHAHA IM SO HAPPY LETS GO THE COPIUM TRAIN IS GOING FULL BLAST NOTHING WILL GO WRONG FOR THEM NOW
So if Becky’s into Dorothy then-my gosh! That will be a wild storm. Now we only need confirmation that Dorothy’s into Becky and it will be a perfect storm
I guess I’m harping at this point, but Dorothy is so horny for Joyce and she can’t stand it. Because she cares about people and doesn’t want to hurt them, Becky in particular, she’s not ever going to admit it, but a scenario where she gets to fuck and Joyce is there, even if only to watch and learn how sex works, is the dream. Dorothy wants this so badly apparently she doesn’t think it’s weird at all to suggest it to Walky, which is new evidence.
She just hasn’t figured out not everyone finds Joyce attractive. She assumes literally everybody does, inevitably including Walky. She believes she’s merely stating an objective fact and hasn’t noticed she’s spilling details of her personal taste.
Which is one of the risks with getting back together. You can slip into old habits of intimacy that aren’t really real anymore. That have to be rebuilt for the new people that you’ve become.
Dorothy has a really weird understanding of what is and isn’t normal sexual boundaries. I have lots of attractive friends too but that doesn’t mean either my boyfriend or I would want them to WATCH us have sex (or have a threesome).
Yesterday Walky was confused about what happens next. No big happy smile. Now he’s in deep waters and he doesn’t know how to swim. These are not the faces you want to see after sexy times.
Somehow, I KEEP getting surprised by this kind of thing, even though I’ve KNOWN for AGES now that the creator of Dumbing of Age is not, in fact, any less freaky than their own fans. And that, like…with no set plan or ending point for the comic, there isn’t actually anything STOPPING him from just putting whatever he feels like putting in the moment into the comic.
It still feels so damn weird, though. I can’t think of any other fandoms where the crack-shipping abilities of the author not only meet, but arguably out-compete, the crack-shipping abilities of the fans.
I can’t think of any other fandoms where the crack-shipping abilities of the author not only meet, but arguably out-compete, the crack-shipping abilities of the fans.
Ooh, good point. I don’t know that much about Chuck Tingle, much less his fandom, but I know enough to be quite certain that his shipping powers are, if anything, EVEN MORE unhinged than Willis’!
While technically very true, Homestuck is a whole other can of worms.
(I’ve attempted to write this comment at least five times and each time the can of worms just keeps spilling out for multiple paragraphs so I’m just going to leave it there.)
…
…
…
This…is also a good point, I guess. It’s somewhat different, I would argue, because I don’t really consider Andrew Hussie’s ability to outdo the craziness of his own fans to be a *positive* thing.
Plus, most of the *really* unhinged stuff is in the Epilogues, which don’t count.
The fun thing about Dumbiverse is that we have Walkyverse to see their mutual needling went somewhere once and now they’re basically unable to connect over it. Even if Sal sees right through it.
Contrary to what Dorothy (and, lets be clear, only Dorothy) suggests in this strip “I think Joyce is not unpretty” and “I am in no way comfortable with the idea of Joyce being involved in my sexytimes with my girlfriend, and don’t understand why said girlfriend assumes I would be” are not mutually exclusive concepts.
And here begins the progression of events that will end with Dorothy leaving Walky again, because she always has Joyce on her mind and can’t stop thinking about her.
We all know what you mean, Dorothy. We just wish you did too.
wtf am i first comment? how am I first comment?!
(that’s never happened before…)
Sometimes you get lucky and the regulars are slower than usual. Happens.
And the last, for it foretells you imminent:
DOOOM!!!
I’m gonna sing the Doom Song now!
I LOVE THAT SONG! I’ma join in! ♫ Doom doom do-do-doom doom … ♫
THE END!
…ooh, what’s that?
And what a first comment it is, too.
Truer words have never been spoken.
Midnight or two a.m. ?? May I ask where does 2 hours of DST?
It isn’t 2 hours of DST, it is because while one side goes into summertime, the other goes into winter time.
Dorothy: “So anyway, have you ever considered dyeing your hair blond? And I think you’d look hot with blue contacts.”
“Maybe instead of her watching us, you could watch me and her?”
“I’ll need you to wear this sweatervest”
Someone get the hotel corner of the room cuck chair
That seems an awfully negative spin to put on that chair.
Why not the oral sex chair?
The Director’s chair?
The GM’s chair?
The “I need to sit down to put on these shoes” chair?
Someone said the Joyce Chair in the comments of the relevant strip.
Maytag?
Hey now, some people might not mind it being the cuck chair!
Gotta claim the slur
Nah, just use the full word (“cuckold”) when you wanna “class it up.”
Joyce is totally a Director. She’s seen the Joe-Roz sex tape, and feels she can do better.
Some people wear their cuck badges with pride
three way! three way! three way! ^^
Not if Walky has anything to say about it! Because EW, JOYCE, COOTIES
You need twice as many circles and dots to be inoculated against all the cooties in a threesome.
Well if he doesn’t want to have sex with Joyce they can make it an orgy and he can have sex with Joe.
I feel like that still ends up with Joyce and Walky trying to (non-sexually) wrestle each other while Dorothy and Joe nurse enormous headaches
On the plus side, probably those two could bond over it 😆
I feel like Joyce might be more opposed than him honestly
Yeah actually I think at the insinuation she was supposed to fully participate Joyce would react even worse than Walky, lmao 🤣
All “BUT THE WHOLE POINT WAS TO NOT PERCEIVE HIM, DOROTHY, HE’S GROOOOOOSSSSSSSSS”
“Hey, I’m not jazzed about this either, Sweatervest McJugsy!”
“🤬”
Just follow the golden rule.
Do others as you would have them do you?
That it’s not gay when it’s a three way.
I object that notion! >~<
i wouldn’t take it too seriously, it’s from a Lonely Island song (the Saturday Night Live duo comprised of bros Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake, probably best known for their first single, “Dick in a Box”, also behind “And I Threw it on the Ground”, and apparently they were featured in the LEGO Movie’s “Everything is Awesome”?)
Andy, Jorma and Akiva. The earliest work of theirs that I know of is the SNL short Lazy Sunday.
Timberlake is not a part of Lonely Island, though he did collaborate with them on Dick in a Box, Mother Lover, and The Golden Rule (which is the one about a threesome).
You got some leeway when you’re in a threeway
“You guys are still here…”
“The one who has most gold makes the rules.”
Deep cut
Does it actually count as three-way if Joyce just sit in a corner to watch, take notes and draw poses?
Absolutely. It’s not the threeway people expect; it’s the one they deserve.
FOR SCIENCE!
Oh good lord, this is getting… at this point there’s going to be SOME kind of payoff. I’m not sure it’d be a ship yet, but like, at this point it’s so blatant it’s gotta be intentional.
I think I’ve been shipping it for a good while now, but I’ve been afraid to hope. Do not tease me like this Willis!
(Also, I love Walky being snarky at Dorothy here. These two are so good together.)
((Also also: Walky & Dorothy actually communicate about what they want with each other. Maybe only in the first panel, but still.))
I’ve been talking about how Dorothy and Joyce are going to end up in some form of polycule for a while now, it’s great to see it as more than speculation though. ~<3
There’s definitely something here. Whether it goes anywhere good, that’s less certain.
I mean, shit, nobody has any obligation to fall in love with their childhood friends, wth.
In fact, it is less likely due to the westermarck effect!
Science point to Mr D for bringing up the Westermark effect.
Joyce has to figure out her sexuality on her own schedule, not Becky’s.
Ha, good point about Joyce and foods not touching!
Meanwhile, on the other side: Even if she ends up being bi and open to polyamory, I expect Dorothy would suuuuuper hate being in a polycule with Joe.
Nonononono. Joyce is canonically biromantic, but not bisexual. Dorothy just came out as bisexual, but it’s not clear yet if she’s biromantic.
How is Joyce canonically biromantic?
Dorothy hasn’t come out as anything, yet, not even to herself.
Saying someone is pretty isn’t coming out lmao
or “hot” since I know people will nickel and dime me on language.
maybe in 10 years they will have even finished their freshman year!
I’m still a little confused about Dorothy self describing herself to Danny as a Kinsey zero half a year back. I’d have thought she’d know. Of course she may just be acknowledging the objective hotness of our busty, blond protagonist, rather than actively wanting some of that.
People’s understanding of themselves can change. Dorothy’s st a peak age for that, too.
The trick is… there is no objective hotness. To pick your examples, not everyone cares about boobs, and not everyone cares about hair color.
If Dorothy still hasn’t figured that out, maybe she really shouldn’t go to Yale…
I spent about 6-8 years “appreciating objectively hot bodies” before admitting I was just bi. It takes a while to break down that Christian upbringing and admit you might possibly be queer.
https://www.dumbingofage.com/2015/comic/book-5/03-the-butterflies-fly-away/kinsey/
memory refresher
“I guess that estimate could change.”
It’s a weird thing to bring up right now though.
Im a broken record but mess, give me the mess
Though I do hope Joyce and Joe stick together
Mess doesn’t mean they have to break up, just means drama
Dorothy, I am sorry you proposed this threesome to the one person in the cast who cannot grasp the concept due to his Calvin and Hobbes-ass notions
I never wanted this to happen to you, Dorothy
It’s very funny that it did, but still
Would you enlighten me on what you mean by Calvin and Hobbes-ass notions?
Truly, you are a winner Dotty.
Christ, dude, the next time you want to type out something like this as a zinger or some shit, try reading it out loud to someone who doesn’t care and internalize the look they give you
And then don’t post this
Makes me wish the flag option was just a mute toggle
Agreed. That was cringy.
❤ I am far too tired of bad faith takes to be reading internet comments sections, but here we are.
Pretty sure Joyce would just be watching for learning purpose and see how it’s done…
Walky: I don’t think you mean what you /think/ you mean.
Dorothy: Inconceivable!
Okay, I wasn’t really expecting to have actually called it.
Dorothy gotta work on her pillow talk.
I’m just going to let this one play out for a bit; I don’t know what I want to happen, so I’ll stay neutral for now.
Joyce: YOUR FACE IS LIKE THE HUNGER GAMES D:<
Dorothy: *face in hands, permanently so*
Old Joe, pounding the table: OR-GY OR-GY OR-GY!
New Joe: …honestly I have no idea how New Joe would react.
Old Joe apparently has HAD threesomes, if we’re to believe the multiple references from older comics. For all the Do List implications, he did get around for realsies.
… Getting feelings involved tho. I wanna see what happens. That’s potential interpersonal conflict(s) right here.
Joe just talked a good game
…oh. I completely forgot.
Woah, I had ABSOLUTELY FORGOR that o.o You’re super right, thank you!
It would actually be hilarious that Joyce is sexually straight as an arrow, but biromantic and absolutely horrible with boundaries.
On the other hand, it would get a lot of peeps angry about queer baiting. And I’m not sure they’d be wrong.
I’m wondering if Joe knows that Joyce has been watching him, in Roz’ famous video.
Dorothy really going “haha wouldn’t it be funny if Joyce watched us have sex? Lol jk . . . unless?”
Dorothy gives up on goals and traits that no longer fit who she is, gets laid, and suddenly all her actual desires come pouring out.
I really wish we could just skip the impending Lucy drama. “We were on a breaaaakk” I don’t mind her as a character but Lucy/Walky is yawn.
Yeah, actually, that would be fine
The Ross/Rachel drama happened because execs thought it would make the show more popular on 90’s TV. DoA isn’t a 90’s TV show, it’s a webcomic made by kind of a weird guy (if only by virtue of making a webcomic) who doesn’t care about ratings, and Walky/Lucy is probably the least popular pairing in the whole run of the comic by like, a significant margin.
“doesnt care about ratings”
I think Lucy is on a different path. probably to Raidah
Hush, there are dozens of us who were hoping Lucy/Walky would turn out good in the end.
That’s just the rule that proves the exception.
I’m half convinced Jacob isn’t interested in sex, and is just trying to make friends.
Yes, please no more Lucy.
I actually think Walky is not necessarily attracted to Joyce, but is pretend-going along with Dorothy’s statement to tease her.
That’s how it sounded like to Walky, I’d say
“okay, fine, I get it, we’re pretending [x] isn’t attractive” does sound like normal pillow talk to me, tbh (but then, my partner and I are both disaster bisexuals)
Speaking of disaster bisexuals… Dorothy, are you saying you’re a disaster bisexual? Er… sorry, that’d be distinguished bi, my bad
She’s not embraced her bisexuality yet. She’s in the same closet Jennifer was in back when she wasn’t an insufferable asshole.
So it’s kinda the opposite of Jennifer.
I mean, is label claiming that important? Willis has already depicted a straight-with-an-exception before.
She actually stated she was a zero, “as best as she could tell” but she was open to the idea that it could change https://www.dumbingofage.com/2015/comic/book-5/03-the-butterflies-fly-away/kinsey/
Well, crud. I apologize for my earlier comment in which I somehow remembered that so very, very wrong.
Also, bravo to Willis for the excellent foreshadowing with the line “I guess that estimate could change.”
That comic went live over 9 years ago.
Walky is also a disaster, who is bi for pizza at least. Does that count too?
why is a disaster bisexual like a raccoon? because it’s a trash pan, duh!(or they’re* would be a better pronoun there)
Poor Walky. He just wants a normal bonin’ experience, but all of the girls who are into him are greased rubix cubes of emotional and sexual hang-ups.
He’s gonna follow the Old Joe Way at this rate.
What is the “Old Joe Way?” Also, I like your metaphor – it is very clever.
“Old Joe Way” noun See: “Manwhore”
Oh, that’s how you travel down Old Joe Way
Old Joe Way intersects New Joyce Turnpike, down by the covered bridge over Sexuality Falls.
“Greased Rubiks Cube” is a great band name.
DOA Book 14: All the Girls Who Are Into Me Are Greased Rubix Cubes of Emotional and Sexual Hang-ups
I guess we’re going to see how much Walky learned about communicating during his zigzag. Like his joke is funny enough, but is he going to get back to someone being attractive doesn’t mean you necessarily want them watching you fuck?
No way in hell
Joyce tried to peep Sal and Danny, so it’s not specific to Dorothy and Walky. She wants to watch sex, probably that’s not porn.
It may be that she’s more interested in watching people she knows and interacts with, rather than strangers (in pornography or in person).
Or just not staged.
what is even happening?
there are friends who I find attractive but never in my wildest dreams would I suggest to my partner that having the friend watch us have sex would be hot UNLESS we had several conversations beforehand about being interested in threesomes and/or exhibitionism
Dorothy, sis, you’re skipping several steps ahead, too many
it would be like asking Walky if he wants to go ahead and order that bad dragon dildo with the uh “spritzing” attachment BEFORE asking if he’s okay introducing sex toys into your dynamic
There’s no harm in starting big. Not everything has to be baby steps.
There’s a stereotype about men that they always want (heterosexual) sex and would be up for anything of that nature.
Dotty wants him to be there so it’s not her wanting Joyce, its her giving Walky a three way.
And if she comes to the party dressed as a Maytag repair girl, then that’s just a bonus for Joyce.
You don’t need to add the het in that. The stereotype is certainly more inclusive.
It’s on her mind because Joyce asked about it last night.
And she’s falling right back into the old comfortable pattern of the relationship where she can actually talk to him about stuff, without really getting that they’re not back to that yet and he’s not necessarily on the same page as her.
From my memories of high school and college drama, it’s high time _one_ of the broken-up couples got back together.
After a generous serving of humble pie, I see Jennifer going back to Ruth.
One hopes that Jennifer realizes Raidah and group are greedy, manipulative, and shallow. And that Billie realizes Ruth is none of that.
…Dorothy??????????????????
This made me laugh, thank you.
That example made me chuckle. Thank you for the laugh.
I mean, Joyce has two hands. So does Joe. Unless I’m forgetting someone I’m pretty sure everyone in the comic has two hands so we could get some pretty big ships going.
Joyce has two hands, and one of them is for pleasuring Dorothy or Joe, the other is for punching Walky in his stupid face
Dorothy has two hands, one of them is for intercepting Joyce’s punching hand and the other is for palming her face to hide her dismay
Sal has a partially disabled hand.
Dorothy isn’t offering a bad idea, she’s just offering the wrong configuration! 😉
Dorothy was so weirded out when it was brought up, but now she’s sharing it with Walky expecting him to have the exact opposite reaction?
Well, she also went on to say “I need to find other ways to say I love you.” So maybe she’s warming to the idea.
But springing it on Walky in almost the same way Joyce sprung it on her is kind of hilarious, and shows a rare lack of awareness on her part.
If you can’t say something outrageous to your best friend, who can you say something outrageous to ?
I’m experiencing a similar sentiment. Also Bi. Dorothy also had an extremely averse reaction to Joyce drunkenly suggesting it.
I don’t ship them in any configuration, not even a polycule and the fact that it’s the constant suggested thing for them is baffling to me.
In the “ten years later” goodbye strips, Joyce, Dorothy, Walky and Joe will live in a particular form of polycule. Joe sleeps only with Joyce, Joyce sleeps with Joe, or Dorothy, or Dorothy and Walky, but not alone with Walky.
Except that one time and Walky/Joyce never talk about it because in their words “It felt too strange and too familiar at the same time.”
And scene.
…. Are you wearing my jacket right now?
It is very comfortable, yes.
I applaud this duologue.
You two win the comments today congratulations! 🏆
🏆
I will not stand for Dorothy/Joe sexual erasure. Don’t make me tap the fanfic.
I don’t know what kind of story line we would need to see that could eventually result in a Dorothy / Joy sexual dynamic that makes sense (at least to me).
But I’m sure if it ever exists it will be something to behold.
Take care, for ’tis nsfw.

(Leave a comment, whispered the author, hiding behind the proverbial drapes)
Huh. I had thought I had. Turns out I had not. But now that is rectified. So, I now know I have. 😀
Do Joe and Walky ever hang out alone together in this situation?
Also, what happens when Sal drops by to see her brother and brings Danny along?
Do they all go on family vacations together? (please please please)
I had no idea until now how desperately I need all these details.
Sal never visits.
But oddly Joyce is usually wearing her clothes anyways.
Go for it, Walky.
Yessss he knowssss now🐍
Threesome with/audience of Joyce aside: How did Dorothy keep her glasses on during the act? And why are most of their clothes on? Even my first few unsuccessful times at coitus, it was stripping down and glasses off. I hope she took her bra off at least.
As someone who is legally blind without their glasses, I will confirm that sex with glasses on is perfectly doable.
You can also swim in a pool with them on, provided you consistently move forward in the water, pushing them to your face. Swimming backwards, the water can hold them still while you swim away. Which sucks.
Anyway, yeah, glasses on happens a lot.
I’ve had a few quickies (erm, um, I mean, I’ve heard about other people having them) with most of the clothes still on, including both participants’ glasses. Because both weren’t sure how much time was available before getting interrupted.
If that’s a surprise to Walky, wait til he hears how Joyce would cover up his half.
Okay, fine, I get it, ██ █████ Joyce is█ attractive.
Yes. This. He doesn’t feel Joyce, but Amber would definitely make him consider this idea.
And Amber would probably consider it.
But that would never happen because Dorothy is only suggesting it because Joyce introduced it into her head, not because she wants SOMEONE to watch.
So if it not Joyce, Dorothy wouldn’t suggest it, but if it is Joyce, Walky wouldn’t agree to it.
Well, this won’t help dampen Doyce Shippers (Joyathy?)
President Jugs?
…Shit, that’s good.
I’m a Jorothy drama shipper
As a couple I don’t see it as interesting and hope it doesn’t happen but the mess of it is so so delicious
being a throuple/polycule is an option but one person would be enough let alone more, that might short circut her brain temporarily lol
Walky run before Dorothy pulls off some jugs and glasses for you to cosplay
He could do it. He’s had acting experience before.
Joe: “well, who’s the pervert, now?”
I think Dorothy forgets sometimes that Walky and Joyce don’t really like each other.
They can get along, sure, but they’re not what I would call FRIENDS, at least not yet.
Wait, does Danny hate Walky? I don’t remember that?
Walky keeps sleeping with Danny’s exes, and Danny doesn’t like that at all.
Probably, that curse is now cock-blocked. Ain’t likely that Walky will sleep with Sal. (ew) Since the curse is a broken, sobbing thing, now Danny can let it go and start his process of healing. (since he ain’t gonna put down the ukulele)
Danny has now eliminated the possibility of that happening this time. Walky ain’t gonna sleep with Sal.
Walky keeps antagonizing Danny, often referencing that he’s slept with Danny’s exes.
That’s a chicken and egg scenario.
In that Danny is a good egg and Walky is a chicken shit.
No in that Danny feels possessive over his exes, started hating Walky for that stupid and pitiful reason, and Walky occasionally says something smart to him.
I don’t accept your head-canon.
No, you don’t accept actual canon.
Also, I am pretty sure Walky is entirely monogamous, he has zero interest in threesomes.
Walky doesn’t seem like he’s even considered the possibility before. He’s just recently grown out of the “girls have cooties” phase. He’s commented that he’d blow a guy for pizza, so he’s not 100% straight. https://www.dumbingofage.com/2015/comic/book-5/04-walking-with-dina/jim/
He may well discover he likes threesomes.
Joyce and Walky are friends, and have been since before they met Dorothy.
Dorothy, on the 3rd and 4th panel looks so confident. Is sex so powerful like that?
Dorothy all waving a grand opening banner at this kid and he’s like “sounds bad, why go THERE instead of MCDONALD’S”
Dorothy is the McDonald’s of sex.
So a threesome with Joyce is what, like that time they tried to open a boutique experience in Japan dedicated to gourmet-cooked Quarter Pounders?
David “Rebound Master” Walkerton just keeps on going
Undefeated genius, our Walky. Sensei.
The Walky rizz is impeccable, it is known
You know what? Dorothy using Confuse Ray on Walky is fine… I’m just glad they’re back together because those two were adorkable with each other, and also it was one of the few actually kinda healthy if you squint relationships.
Ruth/Billie was healthy in its own way; you just had to squint harder.
i wonder how joe and walky feel about inevitably being part of the same polycule
Hopefully bisexual
You’d have to be a goddamn stoic to be completely unbothered if your crush wanted to get with his ex instead of you.
banging my fists on the table *polycule* *polycule* *polycule*
BANGING FISTS WITH YOU SO THEY BANG WITH EACH OTHER
Someone should make a chart
joining in on the banging as well *POLYCULE* *POLYCULE* *POLYCULE*
What do we want?!
A POLYCULE INVOLVING JOYCE AND DOROTHY
When do we want it??!
WHEN NARRATIVELY APPROPRIATE
Who else should be involved?!?
I think this is generally how many polyamorous relationships function, if not most … So I’d support this. Polymer chain is a cute way to put it too…
Joining in the chorus *polymer chain* *polymer chain* *polymer chain*
“and I’d actually be interested in doing things to her”
You made that up.
It’s a total fabrication.
Looks like she’s in a pretty good headspace to me.
Lucy owns walky until she dumps him twice ?
You are the only person in this fandom taking her side. a side she doesnt want.
lmao dorothy what the fuck
There’s a whole character in this comic about why you’re wrong… Desanto 20XX!
I wonder if the artist of Mary Worth has ever drawn canonical Mary Worth cast pornography
“Wilbur Performs A Sad, Bitter Masturbation”
Well, there has been more than one artists who did Mary Worth and they all have the power to depict things happening with the power of drawing, even outside of their job, so I’d say the chances are non-zero.
Though I’d say is more likely for the one who draw Luann.
The current artist, June Brigman, has also done capes. That doesn’t really address your curiosity, just that she has broader experience than just Brenda Starr and Mary Worth.
I can only assume 9 Chickweed Lane’s “editor” is one of those leg lamps from A Christmas Story propped up on a desk.
Dont, dont give me hope for Joyce/Dorothy tag teach me how to hanky panky
*deep breath* YEEEEEEEEEEEEDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS HAHAHA IM SO HAPPY LETS GO THE COPIUM TRAIN IS GOING FULL BLAST NOTHING WILL GO WRONG FOR THEM NOW
I guess it’s official, the Walkerton twins have a type and it’s White and Nerdy [Weird Al starts to play in the background]
The Joyrothy train will never stop
Also, I’m starting to wonder how long until Becky reveals that she’s only mean because Dorothy’s her “type” :p
Wait wait wait, I hadn’t considered this
*pulls out chart*
So if Becky’s into Dorothy then-my gosh! That will be a wild storm. Now we only need confirmation that Dorothy’s into Becky and it will be a perfect storm
Joe can walk them through the technicalities I suppose
I guess I’m harping at this point, but Dorothy is so horny for Joyce and she can’t stand it. Because she cares about people and doesn’t want to hurt them, Becky in particular, she’s not ever going to admit it, but a scenario where she gets to fuck and Joyce is there, even if only to watch and learn how sex works, is the dream. Dorothy wants this so badly apparently she doesn’t think it’s weird at all to suggest it to Walky, which is new evidence.
She just did.
She just hasn’t figured out not everyone finds Joyce attractive. She assumes literally everybody does, inevitably including Walky. She believes she’s merely stating an objective fact and hasn’t noticed she’s spilling details of her personal taste.
Walky has literally said, iirc, that she’s pleasingly shaped.
Not saying they sound like they’ve been married a long time but. The sound like they’ve be married a long time.
Hey, who’s gonna break the news to Jennifer?
https://www.dumbingofage.com/2011/comic/book-2/01-pajama-jeans/something/
Which is one of the risks with getting back together. You can slip into old habits of intimacy that aren’t really real anymore. That have to be rebuilt for the new people that you’ve become.
I’m not one for squeeing, but–
*squee ensues
I first spent a few minutes just looking at the perfectly indicative disheveled state of Dorothy’s sweater and unbuttoned shirt. Am I the only one?
Nope. Me n’ Taffy were commenting on that yesterday. Walky’s shirt was somewhat askew as well.
There was boob tomfoolery afoot, on both their parts.
Oh Man… what an awesome alias that would be to post here…
“Tom Boobfoolery”
Fondling around? Fooling around!?
Definitely handy groping on all their parts.
In which we learn that Dorothy and Walky read the comments, and have decided to tease us.
Oh come on, Dorothy.
Dorothy has a really weird understanding of what is and isn’t normal sexual boundaries. I have lots of attractive friends too but that doesn’t mean either my boyfriend or I would want them to WATCH us have sex (or have a threesome).
I blame her association with Joe
Dorothy is an exhibitionist? Who’d a thunk?
Maybe not a full-on exhibitionist, I’d dare say she’s more excited about the thought of Joyce being the one she’s, um, exhibiting to.
Yesterday Walky was confused about what happens next. No big happy smile. Now he’s in deep waters and he doesn’t know how to swim. These are not the faces you want to see after sexy times.
Dorothy’s level of denial about her own sexuality is truly something to behold
Next step: Dorothy and Joyce will be wanting to have sex with their partners in the same room, and holding each others hand while doing so.
Chuck Tingle, maybe?
Ooh, good point. I don’t know that much about Chuck Tingle, much less his fandom, but I know enough to be quite certain that his shipping powers are, if anything, EVEN MORE unhinged than Willis’!
So you don’t know about “Homestuck”.
Fueling my theory that the entire cast will end up in one big polycule by the end of this comic
The ultimate Smoochy Chart!
C’mon now Walky, you distinctly said that Joyce was “not unpretty” like last year
The fun thing about Dumbiverse is that we have Walkyverse to see their mutual needling went somewhere once and now they’re basically unable to connect over it.
Yeah, Walky and Joyce have both, indirectly, admitted the other is physically attractive, they just have their own baggages.
“I missed watching your face when you cum, Joyce kicked me out before I could see hers, maybe if we let her watch us ….”
You can find Joyce attractive, and still not want her peeping on your sexy time. Some of us get self-conscious if we’re putting on a show.
And here begins the progression of events that will end with Dorothy leaving Walky again, because she always has Joyce on her mind and can’t stop thinking about her.
joyce might be good looking but I don’t know if I’d be into performing for her if I were in walky’s shoes
D O R O T H Y
and friends of, as it were xD
I cackled so hard.
