After their proper break-up and Walky getting together with Lucy (who I do think work together well if they don’t have as much chemistry [yet] as Wam-Bam Thank You Ma’am), he’s done a better job at reminding her they’re just friends now, with the ceiling on personal interaction and influence that implies.
I kind of like his come back about Dorothy liking a level of self destruction, not outright telling everyone else but a reminder that’s he’s the one whoes been better a keeping boundaries lately.
I think Amber was definitely trying to bang here and Walky doesn’t get it. That’s why she had the look of sheer and utter horror there while Walky is arguing semantics and doesn’t seem to give a shit that Dorothy is there. Dorothy is probably a little jealous and hurt because she threw herself at Walky, and here he is doing something that looks kinda suspicious with Amber.
That means Dina is the only one reacting appropriately to all of this.

In other words, Walky went up on the roof to be garbage, but Amber went up on the roof to be garbage with Walky (admittedly she wasn’t fully two personalities when she was up there as AG, but the reason and frequency of AG being up there was less about being garbage).

I mean even before this whole mess in College she was obsessed with this Live to Work mentality. She dumped Danny and Walky too (I think? I don’t remember how they broke up) because she was laser focused on her work.
Dorothy broke up with Walky because her grades were slipping, true, but she broke up with Danny because he was making her his entire identity while also undermining her ambitions. Danny just misremembered/framed it as ‘she broke up with me to focus on school’ after the fact.
True but it could be also read as her cutting off the bonds she has no use for/are holding her back. It’s actually pretty funny that she is taking an issue with Walky’s desire to just chill since that was the whole reason why she hooked up with him. Easy fun.
Her issue isn’t that Walky is chilling.
It’s that he’s chilling with Amber in her underwear (after just rejecting Dorothy under the premise of him being a good boyfriend to Lucy).
There’s also some bleed over anxiety from the fact that she came to Amber because she couldn’t go to Walky and here he is.
And she may or may not be thinking about how Amber isn’t big on socializing and so Walky may have drained that particular resource for the moment.

Walky coined that phrase and he started going up there because he realized his situation with Sal as well as trying not to deal with failing math.
Amazi-girl went up there because she often met Sal there, but Amber didn’t start going up there regularly as herself until after Walky spent his first day fully broken up with Dorothy interacting with Amber on the app formerly known as Twitter.
In other words, Walky went up on the roof to be garbage, but Amber went up on the roof to be garbage with Walky (admittedly she wasn’t fully two personalities when she was up there as AG, but the reason and frequency of AG being up there was less about being garbage).
Actually, let me walk that back from.
It’s Walky’s concept, being the one to say “Up here we can be garbage”, but it was indeed Amber who used the name “Garbage Roof” first in the following discussion.

All I’m hearing is “how come you make two garbage roofs with Amber and not a single one with me?”
I find it interesting that Dorothy seems to equate ‘spending a morning playing video games and eating snacks, pointedly doing nothing’ with ‘self-destructive’. At the very least, she didn’t argue Walky’s description.
She is obsessed with being Productive, not doing things that yield progress and results is very much self-destructive to her.
Well yeah. Being “productive” is how she avoids self-reflection.
I mean even before this whole mess in College she was obsessed with this Live to Work mentality. She dumped Danny and Walky too (I think? I don’t remember how they broke up) because she was laser focused on her work.
Dorothy broke up with Walky because her grades were slipping, true, but she broke up with Danny because he was making her his entire identity while also undermining her ambitions. Danny just misremembered/framed it as ‘she broke up with me to focus on school’ after the fact.
True but it could be also read as her cutting off the bonds she has no use for/are holding her back. It’s actually pretty funny that she is taking an issue with Walky’s desire to just chill since that was the whole reason why she hooked up with him. Easy fun.
Her issue isn’t that Walky is chilling.
It’s that he’s chilling with Amber in her underwear (after just rejecting Dorothy under the premise of him being a good boyfriend to Lucy).
There’s also some bleed over anxiety from the fact that she came to Amber because she couldn’t go to Walky and here he is.
And she may or may not be thinking about how Amber isn’t big on socializing and so Walky may have drained that particular resource for the moment.
it’s just a cascading series of Dorothy being unable to get what she wants and/or needs (many of which she’s not consciously aware of and/or doesn’t acknowledge).
I find it far more interesting that Walky does, tbh.
Anyone who wakes up on a weekend and says, “Organizational redundancy”deserves to be blasted with a 2” fire hose.
Or at least with one of Carla’s pies.
Please don’t criticize my way of enjoying life.
That sounds so important that we should dedicate at least three separate and independent task forces to the job.

im guessing the something/nothing he is talking about is that he just wants to be with someone without it being a production of some sort. no drama, nothing to do or concern yourself with, just…nothing.
let us exist together, and enjoy the quiet minutes we can scavenge from an tiresome day.
He’s been under significant pressure this last couple of weeks, from both parents and girlfriend, to do/be “something” and is pushing back in his own way.
