I never understood how it was.
It has two modes.
Right hand on the lower right to hit A/B and reaching up to hit the 4 directional C buttons. Using the index/middle to hit the R.
Then the left hand position is determinded by the game.
Standard position is in the center, thumb on the joystick and the hand supporting it. Index finger lightly resting on the z button.
Classic position is on the far left, holding it like an nes controller. Thumb on the directional pad and index/middle resting on the L button.
Sincerely, never understood how so many people were confused.
I had a Playstation; the DualShock was peak controller design for its day. Why make you switch hand positions depending on whether you needed the D-pad or the one stick?
Oh absolutely the PS controller was a better and more streamlined design. But the N64 wasn’t really confusing to me, so I just questioned why so many others question that.
I meant “baffling” more in the “who thought this was a good idea” sense. All they had to do was pop an analog stick or two and two extra shoulder buttons on the SNES controller.
In hindsight it was a questionable design, but it wasn’t confusing to me as a kid. I remember being confused by Cranky Kong’s minirant in DK64 about needing another hand to use it lol
I think the entire concept of cheating has nothing to do with what you’re actually doing. For example, for a swingers couple, having sex with other people wouldn’t be cheating. For a couple of GoT lovers, watching the finale with someone else might very well be.It’s very context dependent: as I understand it, it’s about knowingly doing something for your own benefit that you know is going to hurt your partner. So in this case? No clue, depends on Lucy.
Even “betrayal” seems a bit harsh for a TV show episode imo. “Break trust” or “let down” seems to fit better. You had expectations and they were broken when the person did something. Having a preset agreement or sometimes a regular pattern of always doing it (though that less so) makes a difference in how bad of a “betrayal” it is. If you never asked them to always do something with you, but expect them to do so because they always have, it can be rough if they do it without you (even if they thought that they could because you never asked). I also look at it from a friend and family member perspective too rather than just significant other. If a friend always invited you to a sport’s game with them, or a family member always invited you over for Thanksgiving and suddenly they don’t, it can be really painful. It’s even worse if they invite someone else instead of you and don’t tell you about it until right before or after the fact. That fits the term “betrayal” more than “cheating”, like Jamie said. All in all, the majority of it seems to be caused by a lack of proper communication and sharing of expectations.
I think this is most accurately seen as “being friends.” A relationship where ordinary friendship is seen as emotional cheating is probably not fully healthy.
The issue here isn’t what they’re doing, it’s that Walky feels he can’t talk to Lucy about the situation that’s causing him to pick Amber’s in the first place. It’s not ’emotional cheating’, but it’s also not ‘healthy relationship’.
Meeting my partner and realizing the me when I’m alone and the me when I’m with them are the same me was when it was solidified for me that they were the one.
That was a confusing ass sentence but you know what I mean.
You can be your true self around them. If you introvert, you can actually spend time with them without them draining your batteries (and there’s a good chance this is related). Because much as you love other people, constantly filtering oneself to try to live up to (oftentimes unspoken) societal expectations can be exhausting…
I had a roommate and then manager (two different people) who did not understand what the word”introvert” meant. It was hell trying to explain that they didn’t give me 1% of the space I needed and they kept playing dumb to force me to talk to them more.
Yup. Systematic ableism at work, it’s not your obligation to educate them if they deliberately wanna fuck with you like that, that’s human resources job.
Not to mention it’s a landlord’s duty to protect vulnerable residents.
In that strip, Walky felt comfortable in his relationship (even though it only had three days left) and Amber was freshly dealing with proving her father right and Amazi-Girl running off without her consent. So now Amber has less to worry about and Walky has more
Wow.. Sometimes I forget the timescale in the comic. When I was that age I really had a much better acquainted with the weight and sequence of events and milestones in my life.
Then again, mine passed by at a scale of 1 yr=1 yr, not 1yr=1 wk.
It does make sense. Like he obviously likes Lucy, like being around her, cares about her, wants to have sex with her, etc, but he also spends so much time in her orbit and Lucy’s always got something she’s moving towards. Not a bad thing, but it does mean that yeah, he doesn’t get to do “nothing” around her, really.
Besides, honestly, I think it’s healthy for people in relationships to have their own time and their own retreats sometimes. You can’t always be in each other’s sphere or else you get friction.
Dorothy was the same way too but most of her pressure is self-inflicted. She never really took it out on Walky, whereas a lot of Lucy’s energy tends to affect the people around her.
Put me down as another who doubts/doubted that he really wants to have sex with her, but decided not to say anything when this was first posted. “Doesn’t want to disappoint her or be a Bad Boyfriend” is a better read, IMO. And also IMO, if this goes on, there’s a fair chance he’ll eventually end up either pressured into having sex* or having another of those moments where he finds a spine and sets a boundary.
(* what I find interesting is that usually, in fiction and maybe in RL, this is what happens to the girl – pushed into “giving it up” for/by the aggressive boyfriend.)
Not sure I’d agree. Dorothy did inflict some of herself onto Walky. I think the difference is that she didn’t have the same need of Walky that Lucy does. There’s a desperate edge to Lucy, because Walky is an achievement to Lucy, whereas for Dorothy, Walky was a guilty pleasure and someone she could be weak for.
You’ll notice, in addition, that Dorothy and Walky broke up basically right after Dorothy realized that Walky Needed Her Help and he became a Project.
That’s unfair to Walky – Dorothy didn’t break up with Walky because he suddenly needed care and attention. They broke up because all her burdens had come bearing down on her. It’s not like she broke up with Joyce when she needed more help.
Thirded. I get a strong sense that Walky is with Lucy not because he likes her romantically or sexually but because- I guess because he wants to like her romantically and sexually. And he’s not emotionally mature and aware enough to know that someone can tick all the right boxes and still not have the spark.
(Not a dig, that’s not a thing usually learned at his age, even by those with much more dating experience.)
I’m pretty sure there was a strip where they were in Lucy’s dorm room, with both ready and in the mood, but were blocked by Jennifer, who refused to leave, and both of them were upset about that. That’s certainly not evidence of a great love, but they’re college freshmen and have only been together a few weeks (if I calculate correctly) so expecting a great love at this point seems a little overboard. However, it did seem evidence (to me, anyway) that Walky was interested in sex with Lucy.
Nonsense, the truth is that Walky didn’t want to immediately take her to pound town is *proof* that he shrivels like a week old banana at the thought of intercourse with her.
It couldn’t *POSSIBLY* be because the last two relationships he had crashed and burned after he had jumped dick-first into them.
Or that he maybe had some issues after his roommate died and his coping mechanism broke the bulk of his relationships.
Yeah, I do think we’re reading way too much into this and that there are many possible reasons other than “it’s a doomed relationship”. He was also thrown by Lucy’s declaration of love, in response to misreading his casual comment.
I also think there’s something very gendered about the general take on this. If it was a girl in a new relationship wanting not wanting to jump straight into sex, few would see that as the relationship being doomed. Since Walky’s a boy, if he doesn’t want to go straight to pound town, he’s obviously completely uninterested.
OTOH, there’s definitely something going on. He’s showing a lot signs of interest than he did early on with either Dorothy or Amber, so it doesn’t seem like he really wants to, but is deliberately holding back.
not wanting to have sex with her doesn’t mean he’s not attracted to her. It includes the reasons you listed. And he won’t tell her, that’s why the relationship is in trouble.
Ding-ding! We have a winner! The issue isn’t the facts, it’s the context. “Doesn’t want to have sex right away” is not a problem. “Can’t talk to my girlfriend and bring our relationship expectations to the same page” is a HUGE problem.
The strip was set the morning after, with Walky recounting it and showing gratitude to Jennifer, stating he had eaten something the night before that made him gassy
The night before, they had harassed Danny at roller derby about them being there was a double date because Lucy was hunting for a third date so she still could be a good Christian girl while having sex. They then went and ate at taco Bell or something at Danny’s suggestion that it would make a third date automatically.
He’s shown desire for her before, he does want to sleep with her. He’s just always going to be a bit of a slacker and he’s starting to feel the pressure of pushing himself and not like it as much.
Since we never got a resolution to the whole “undiagnosed ADHD” thing I wonder where this is going.
yep ppl def should/need to have multiple healthy relationships outside of romantic ones, doesn’t cross a line yet but i can see it being potential relationship drama/love triangles (tho they do need to talk properly at some point, not sure if walky’s mature for that yet without a mediator like booster [who thinks lucy can do better anyways])
tho hopefully even if you need a ‘break’ from your SO it’d be nice if you still wanted to spend the most time with them/seee them at the end of the day
Yeah hanging out with your friend is fine. But the way he’s talking about it just makes it seem like he’s not interested in Lucy that much. Like he could have said “I wanted to play games and I know you have a console” or “I wanted to hang out with my friend”.
It just sounds off. I literally live with my ex so obviously we hang out all the time. But I’d be surprised if he said something like this about his new gf.
makes me wonder if dina’s filtering them out or eavesdropping and accidentally telling lucy that he was chilling with amber in a way that’d make her jealous
Even if this is somehow an infodump that pertains to her interests, I don’t think Dina actually knows who Lucy is.
Checking the tags, they’ve barely ever been in a room together, and they’ve never actually talked to each other per se. (Though from Lucy’s end, her interactions with Dina have been…memorable.)
I wonder who Walky’s and Amber’s mains are in Mario Kart. Pretty sure Sal’s is canonically Wiggler, and I’m guessing Dina picks Yoshi, but I don’t think anyone else’s have been stated.
This might be fun to try and guess which DoA character picks who in Mario Kart. Amber might pick Link cause he’s basically the poster boy for Nintendo slash fic. I’d go on but I want to see other guesses. Also who do you think a character mains in Smash?
Gonna go on a limb and say Walky plays Waluigi or one of the Koopalings, Amber plays Daisy, Dina plays Yoshi. Booster plays exclusively Toad. Carla, conveniently, plays Toadette.
So someone correct me if I’m wrong. But I remember Amazi-girl (before their memories were separated??) used to main Wiggler when she played with Danny. Like she told him it was her favorite. And that’s one of the reasons WHY Danny believed at first that Sal was Amazi-girl, because when he asked her to play mario kart on his ds, she picked Wiggler, and he took that as her subtle confirmation that she was AG. (When in actuality, Sal picked wiggler at first just because she likes bugs.)
Yup. It’s also likely to be Amber’s since there was originally less separation between them, and the muscle memory has to come from somewhere- far more likely to come from the one who actually spends her time playing video games.
you fools, don’t you realize- poly solves *ALL* woes (Disclaimer: it does not pls continue to engage in self-work and communication when in a poly relationship)
One of the worst disasters in poly is when someone doesn’t dump a partner they’re no longer in to and just dates someone else as well. Obviously responsible ppl don’t do that but I’ve seen it and it’s just really sad.
3some tho lucy is fully straight from what we’ve seen so far (tho stereotypically in some ‘straight 3 somes’ it’s two girls thirsting over the same guy rather than doing stuff with each other or just faking it for the guy to ‘enjoy’ it
Current roster’s pretty huge. You’d be safe picking almost any Mario character and even a few outside Mario specifically. There’s even more than one Bowser now.
Been a long time since I’ve played Mario Kart, but I was always a fan of the heavy characters. Or once they added kart customization I’d play a medium sized character with the heaviest kart settings I could get. Get that good top speed without sacrificing quite so much maneuverability.
My heart was breaking a bit for Amber in the last panel, but then I realized that I couldn’t tell whether Amber was sad or if she was just concentrating on the game with a mouthful of Nachitos.
if anything i imagine she’s just annoyed/putting up with walky as opposed to being sad unless he’s one ‘foot in mouth’ sentence mess up from being kicked out lol
I’m just always afraid I’ll put way to much pressure on the stick to compensate for the size. But yeah it’s my least favorite way to play. Both Joycons or none at all.
It’s maddening. Some games work with one joycon but I’d never play Mario Kart that way. Too many buttons and you need precise drift control. They’re also playing it splitscreen, undocked. These kids are savages. How do they even see what’s going on? HDMI cords are like 5 dollars.
I think Walky and Amber are both physically short and may have smaller hands as a result*. So it might not be as terrible for them as it is for my 6-foot-plus self with the super-wide hands.
* I don’t actually know anything real about anatomical details like that, so maybe that’s not how it works.
I feel like this is a really normal thing to do with friends and I’ll be a little sad if it turns back into a romantic thing. Sometimes you need people who just do chill things with you and aren’t trying to get into your pants. ( I’m not sure Walky and Lucy have that much chemistry, but i don’t think that him not getting everyone he might want out of that relationship means it’s going badly, you know?)
Yes, because they were specifically trying not to and had trouble resisting so asked her to stay to help.
But prior to that, when they weren’t resisting, Walky entered the room after passing Dina’s Dino question and they immediately started making out with Dina in the room saying she thinks he’d been coached on how to enter.
Sometimes, just living is effort enough. I think Walky’s earned some time to just be comfortable somewhere and be able to turn his brain off for a bit.
Also this comic did me psychic damage because my favorite person is like this with me, and doesn’t like the pressure of others, but persists in those situations (with people who are actively abusive, even) and I just… Dude. Be here. Be you. Be around me because it’s nice and we’re happy as is. Oof.
My question is why can’t Walky relax around his girlfriend? He said from the start he wanted someone to watch cartoons with and the fact he can’t relax with Lucy without it feeling like something more than that is really sad.
There’s the whole “When are we gonna fuck” thing hanging over his head. Any time spent not fucking is time that could be spent fucking, but when’s the ideal time, and what if it makes things weird, and blah blah blah allosexual problems.
It started to go wrong at the date with her brother when she said they were in love. and Lucy reverted to having a pretend Relationship with Walky again, instead of the real one.
and put pressure on Walky to go along woth the pretend one putting him in the position of lying about his feelings when the dating is brand new
and Dorothy made it worseby telling him to go alone with lucys pretensions both in dating her and in lying about his feelings.
instead of just letting her down a little and making her date the boy in front of her, and stop dating the pretend one in her imagination shes been doing for 4 months.
So now Dorothy has gotten walky to twist a just for fun reraltionship into something that is npt mutual, twice . and depriotize his own feelings.
Dorothy isn’t responsible for this she, she literally told him to be honest with Lucy https://www.dumbingofage.com/2023/comic/book-13/02-turning-saints-into-the-sea/myadvice/ it’s Walky’s own tendency to run away from his problems that’s causing problems. It’s ridiculous to blame her when he refuses to grow up she gave him good advice and he ignored it what’s she supposed to do? hold Walky by the hand and speak to Lucy for him?
I’m starting to anticipate an appearance by Lyle, who has picked up that something is not quite what he’s been told, and asks Walky point-blank if it’s so. Walky hems and haws a bit, and finally admits that, yeah, Lucy’s a swell girlfriend and all, but things are not…quite as Lucy describes them. Lyle says, “yeah, she’s been that way since the day she discovered boys. It seems like you genuinely care about her. Just treat her right and we’re cool.”
Yeah, that’s it. As someone with undeniable Lucy energy in this way, can confirm I completely see where Walky is coming from here. Lucy is sweet and eager and it’s the eager that is the hard bit to deal with. She is eager about everything. I feel like possibly she could use some reassurance after the conversation with Sarah, I’m still really interested to see how that conversation affects her.
I don’t agree with the people saying it’s okay to feel this way about your partner, though. Like I have been in dynamics like this where I was the one and it was frustrating and demoralising, and I’ve had opportunities where I had a massive years long crush on someone even Lucier than me but could see how exhausting it would be trying to keep up with them and deliberately chose someone more amber to me, just on what seemed like a whim, and here I am with him ten years and two kids later, still relaxing and getting to be whatever we want, whenever we want (barring kids’ input) together. It’s way better in my mind to have someone who supports what you want to do for yourself and that you support in the same way, but does not actively push you to be what they think is best for one or both of you.
Walky should just be hinest with her. Let her be upset. Or trust that Luycy will just right her self like weeble or a pool floatie you try to push under a pool.
She’ll get over it quickly and take i as a personal challenge

The peace and satisfaction of being with someone you love but who ALSO matches you perfectly. 😉 It’s… hard to describe if you’ve never been in such a relationship, but it’s incredible when you’re with someone with whom you’re just in sync with. Most relationships will involve some level of give and take, but often you’ll run into clashes where one person’s “Big Life Goals” are totally at odds with the other’s. For example, one person might want children, but the other is totally against it. That kind of difference ultimately winds up destroying the relationship, and it’s why I still believe that Dorothy and Walky, despite their mutual attraction, are not good long-term fits for each other. Dorothy wants to be Prez, to go great and glorious things with her life that will go down in history. Meanwhile, Walky just wants to sit at home in his pajamas and play video games and eat junk food with his beloved. What each of them wants out of life is just too different for them to work long-term.
I wonder if somehow Sarah is gonna tie her search for someone to break up Joyce and Joe back to this room somehow? Would make “looking for nothing” end up having a lot of meanings indeed. Even better if everyone finds some reason to end up at this room before chapter’s end. Wacky hijinks indeed!
I hope the storylines intersect, like two trains. Sarah seeing the after-effects of Walky’s fake date. And Dina, who approves of Joe and Joe dating Joyce, seeing Sarah’s unhinged attempts to break them up.
Walky is likely ADHD (if that was actually stated, I don’t recall) and the thing he’s talking about is taking a break from self-regulation and it’s an important thing to be able to do. Self-regulation is an important skill, but it’s a lot of work to do constantly! Fellow Neuro-Divergent friends who you can unmask and un-regulate with are quite valuable!
While Walky often seems un-regulated and uncaring about it, he’s actually doing a lot of emotional labor at the very least in holding back or “showing up” socially and needs these kinds of breaks. Whether Lucy intends it, Walky thinks she needs him to have a certain level of a mask on – each interaction is a stepping stone toward a more serious relationship. Even though he could totally be unregulated around her, he doesn’t see it that way, at least not yet. He still wants to impress.
I don’t know where the story is headed – but I do hope Walky either keeps this friendship with Amber or finds other friends who he can just relax around.
I feel bad for Lucy because she genuinely likes Walky and Walky genuinely likes her but I don’t think it’s gonna work and I think she’d be the type of person to self-blame at first instead of realizing sometimes stuff doesn’t work.
i had a bad feeling it wouldnt work for them. nothing against either of them, but they both have some growing up to do. which they could very much do together, but for Lucy i think she’s more excited about the IDEA of a boyfriend than the actual boyfriend himself (been there T_T it never ends well lmao)
“Nothin’ is always a little bit somethin'” is a great expression and I 100% have been there. Being a little on edge even around someone you love. Great stuff, might steal that
It looks like Walky and Lucy which is just as well because Lucy deserves better. On the bright side, I suspect Lucy would check a lot of boxes for Jacob who is looking for somebody like Joyce but not Joyce.
Amber can be found in the following environments:
* Garbage Roof
* Nothing Dorm
* Trauma Convenience Store
* Therapeutic Roller Derby Rink
* The Fanfic Zone of Forbidden Delights and Nightmarish Horrors (they are the same thing – she’s basically a Smut Cenobite)
* Class (on occasion)
I got nuthin to say about this.
Actually I do got something. These kids actually play multiplayer with one joy con each? They’re fucking animals!
A single JoyCon isn’t as bad as it could be.
It could be an N64 controller.
No way, an N64 controller is still more comfortable than using a single joy con with both hands
Joy-Cons are tiny, but the N64 controller is just baffling.
I never understood how it was.
It has two modes.
Right hand on the lower right to hit A/B and reaching up to hit the 4 directional C buttons. Using the index/middle to hit the R.

Oh absolutely the PS controller was a better and more streamlined design. But the N64 wasn’t really confusing to me, so I just questioned why so many others question that.
Oh, that’s because people believe there only exist “best” and “worst” things, so if it isn’t the best, then it must be the worst.
It’s basically toxic billionaire techbro thinking as expressed by random people on the internet.
I’ve always been fond of GameCube controllers, vibed with me
I meant “baffling” more in the “who thought this was a good idea” sense. All they had to do was pop an analog stick or two and two extra shoulder buttons on the SNES controller.
…Like Sony did.
In hindsight it was a questionable design, but it wasn’t confusing to me as a kid. I remember being confused by Cranky Kong’s minirant in DK64 about needing another hand to use it lol
God they are not fucking animals. They didn’t even get to fuck each other, looks like.
Nah, for Mario kart it’s fine as long as you don’t have big hands
aw.
cute but i wonder if this would be seen as ’emotional’ cheating
It’s nothing.
Not by anyone I’d ever want as a partner.
Emotional cheating is when you have any positive emotion whatsoever that’s not the property of your significant other.
Sounds good, let’s talk about that the same way we talk about real cheating. Nothing can go wrong.
As someone who REALLY needs to re-quit Reddit, this made me lol(sob).
“I played video games with my ex/platonic friend at her place while she had no pants on instead of visiting my girlfriend. AITAH?”
Yeah they’d be burning walky at the stake
I think the entire concept of cheating has nothing to do with what you’re actually doing. For example, for a swingers couple, having sex with other people wouldn’t be cheating. Yup. The word “cheating” doesn’t really mean anything. The word people actually want is “betrayal”.
All in all, the majority of it seems to be caused by a lack of proper communication and sharing of expectations.
Personally? I say any term stronger than “disappointment” is bullshit. At least, as applies to this situation.
To Lucy, it’s hard to say. It just might be nothin’.
Walky and Lucy have been dating a few weeks. They’ve barely been together long enough to even call it a relationship.
aye but it’s lucy who needs to know that
“emotional cheating”? Not really. I mean friends can relax with each other for emotional well-being who are not necessarily romantically involved, no?
You ain’t gonna find absolutely everything you’d want out of a relationship in a single earthling, that’s just not how human nature works 😛
I don’t think it crosses a line, but Idk if lucy would rly see it that way
Yeah,

Not to mention it’s a landlord’s duty to protect vulnerable residents.
Now all I can think about is this strip (https://www.dumbingofage.com/2017/comic/book-7/04-the-do-list/fun-3/). It seemed like more pleasing nuthin for Walky, and more worrisome for Amber.
In that strip, Walky felt comfortable in his relationship (even though it only had three days left) and Amber was freshly dealing with proving her father right and Amazi-Girl running off without her consent. So now Amber has less to worry about and Walky has more
Three days left?
Wow.. Sometimes I forget the timescale in the comic. When I was that age I really had a much better acquainted with the weight and sequence of events and milestones in my life.

That’s unfair to Walky – Dorothy didn’t break up with Walky because he suddenly needed care and attention. They broke up because all her burdens had come bearing down on her. It’s not like she broke up with Joyce when she needed more help.
I have yet to see any evidence that Walky is at all interested in having sex with Lucy
Seconded
Thirded. I get a strong sense that Walky is with Lucy not because he likes her romantically or sexually but because- I guess because he wants to like her romantically and sexually. And he’s not emotionally mature and aware enough to know that someone can tick all the right boxes and still not have the spark.
(Not a dig, that’s not a thing usually learned at his age, even by those with much more dating experience.)
he’s not repulsed, but he sure tends to have back up reasons not to have sex just then, except whatever the real one is.
They then went and ate at taco Bell or something at Danny’s suggestion that it would make a third date automatically.
feels like he had “oops, ate too much” as a backup in case Jennifer wasn’t there.
IIRC, Walky actually thanked Jennifer for blocking them since he had felt a little gassy from too many chocolate chip pancakes.
DOES he want to have sex with her?
I don’t know if he’s full-tilt there physically, but Lucy licking the stain off his shirt put him in a momentary daze.
Yeah, that strip is kind of a lethal blow to the notion he has zero interest. It’s not reflected in the comic.
I do think it’s fair to say Lucy’s MORE interested, sure, but he is explicitly attracted to her.
yep ppl def should/need to have multiple healthy relationships outside of romantic ones, doesn’t cross a line yet but i can see it being potential relationship drama/love triangles (tho they do need to talk properly at some point, not sure if walky’s mature for that yet without a mediator like booster [who thinks lucy can do better anyways])
tho hopefully even if you need a ‘break’ from your SO it’d be nice if you still wanted to spend the most time with them/seee them at the end of the day
Yeah hanging out with your friend is fine.
Sometimes you just need a little parallel play with friends.
makes me wonder if dina’s filtering them out or eavesdropping and accidentally telling lucy that he was chilling with amber in a way that’d make her jealous
Personally I think Carla probably plays as a Mii of herself.
UltraCar all the way.
Making the guess that Amber plays as Donkey Kong or Wario with the speediest bike build, and that Walky either plays as Shy Guy
Walky plays DK because Monkey Master.
He’s the leader of the bunch, he knows him well.
It does sound like it wouldn’t be Lucy’s thing, so I don’t think it’d happen but, I do wish they could be a triad.
This would be the worst triad ever. Walky, a girl he has no chemistry with, and the girl he wishes he was dating instead. Poor Lucy.
we know she likes super hero comics or at least cartoons, mabye they can hang at a comic book store together
Don’t cheat but also do get back together please.
pick one
o3o…
You wouldn’t like my answer.
… break up with Lucy and then get back together with Amber?
you fools, don’t you realize- poly solves *ALL* woes (Disclaimer: it does not pls continue to engage in self-work and communication when in a poly relationship)
One of the worst disasters in poly is when someone doesn’t dump a partner they’re no longer in to and just dates someone else as well. Obviously responsible ppl don’t do that but I’ve seen it and it’s just really sad.
3some tho lucy is fully straight from what we’ve seen so far (tho stereotypically in some ‘straight 3 somes’ it’s two girls thirsting over the same guy rather than doing stuff with each other or just faking it for the guy to ‘enjoy’ it
I’ve definitely drawn something to that effect. With those exact characters.
Alright y’all who is your main in Mario Kart?
Mine is Best girl
HONK!
I pick the guy in green every time! Go Weegi!
I have not played Mario Kart in many an age. I think it was generally Bowser? I don’t even know what the current roster
Current roster’s pretty huge. You’d be safe picking almost any Mario character and even a few outside Mario specifically. There’s even more than one Bowser now.
Also prior to the DLC it was Isabelle. I played her on the moped. It wasn’t fast but seeing the doggo on a moped healed my soul.
Been a long time since I’ve played Mario Kart, but I was always a fan of the heavy characters. Or once they added kart customization I’d play a medium sized character with the heaviest kart settings I could get. Get that good top speed without sacrificing quite so much maneuverability.
I’m a motorcycle maniac. I honestly can’t steer the cars well but I RULE on anything two-wheeled
I’ve been a Toad man since the 64 days and I will never change
King Boo!
Waluigi all the way 😍
Rosalina for me. Always liked her style.
Anti Guy (black Shy Guy), and Metal Mario if I’m playing my min-maxing brother.
No expectation allowed on trash roof
My heart was breaking a bit for Amber in the last panel, but then I realized that I couldn’t tell whether Amber was sad or if she was just concentrating on the game with a mouthful of Nachitos.
if anything i imagine she’s just annoyed/putting up with walky as opposed to being sad unless he’s one ‘foot in mouth’ sentence mess up from being kicked out lol
That’s her gaming face.
Almost certainly the latter.
I don’t understand how people can play with the controllers like that. It’s like using a controller for ants and it bothers my hands
HDMI cords are like 5 dollars.
lol i dont even use joycons atall … i use the xbox controller erm I mean pro controller just like I did for the Wii and Wii u
Haha i typo and it’s kind of undermining my point *everything he wants
i mean, garbage roof buddies aside i assume they have the decency to not make out with each other with dina in the room
tho i imagine amber’s not caring/focused on relationships now/even if it’s just a fling
i wouldn’t be surprised if lucy gets broken up with eventually but hopefully after a ‘proper’ conversation/communication versus just some ‘drama’.
Dina in the room never stopped them before.
But as much as I’d prefer them making out, this particular moment doesn’t feel like it’s going to happen.
Didn’t they ask Dina to stay in the room for this exact purpose before?
Yes, because they were specifically trying not to and had trouble resisting so asked her to stay to help.
But prior to that, when they weren’t resisting, Walky entered the room after passing Dina’s Dino question and they immediately started making out with Dina in the room saying she thinks he’d been coached on how to enter.
Poor Lucy.
She can do better.
Walky has done better.
amber about to shred walky in mario kart again
Absolutely nothing, absolutely.
Walky’s allowed but I also feel like this is just another bit of running away from doing anything that requires effort.
What’re you, his dad?
No. His bro clone. You can tell by the avatar.
WHO’S THAT POKEMON?!?!?!
It’s Walky!
It’s Sal, contorted to look like Walky!
It’s Asher, but he’s wearing the same clothes as Walky!
IT’S BROCLONE!!!! XD
Sometimes, just living is effort enough. I think Walky’s earned some time to just be comfortable somewhere and be able to turn his brain off for a bit.
Effort is overrated. If I could sleep forever I would!
Welp. There it is. From the source.
For real. Every time they hang out she’s like “I guess this counts as a date and therefore has met one of the requirements for us to bone!”
It’s fine if she needs to convince herself but it’s adding pressure that Walky has to be down or she’ll be upset.
Yeah to both of these.
“she literally told him to be honest with Lucy ”
Just the opposite? “No reason to tell her she misheard you.”
Have you SEEN Lucy?
She’s kinda…..high octane
I wish Ava’s demon updated more often…

Walky like a Man, my son
Reason number i lost count amber is perfect for walky.
It’s totally valid to have friends outside the relationship, but it’s problematic when that friend is someone you sort-of dated.
Yeah that’s probably the main issue with Lucy, she wants to change Walky into her Perfect Respectable Man. Amber just wants to hang out.
I thought the main issue is Walky didny want to have sex with her
He’s her first relationship and she likes him so much. I think he feels a lot of pressure to be a certain version of himself.
A little bit of Nothing is always something
( what song is that?)
a little of bit of somehting is better than nothing.
and what song is that ?
maybe this

A comic about nothing?
[Slap bass intensifies]
that reference is all right, high-five.
if i remember wasn’t Amber’s room sort of the “ignore the world “hideout as long as you brought food?
Oh no I ship it. But what would Amber get out of being with Walky?
Walky.
Also nachitos.
(This was the answer I was looking for)
That feels like a weird question. What does anyone get out of being with anyone. Ideally it’s just their presence.
I was trying to set up a nachitos joke.
I have been reading David Willis comics for at least a decade, and this one is so perfect I had to comment for the first time. This is perfect.
*relates in autism*
same bruh 🥰🌈♾️🎮📚
I wonder if somehow Sarah is gonna tie her search for someone to break up Joyce and Joe back to this room somehow? Would make “looking for nothing” end up having a lot of meanings indeed. Even better if everyone finds some reason to end up at this room before chapter’s end. Wacky hijinks indeed!
Comment because mobile site is weirdly garbage about thinking I need a comment.
“Walky, you’ve never been wound.”
Get her, Jade.
i had a bad feeling it wouldnt work for them. nothing against either of them, but they both have some growing up to do. which they could very much do together, but for Lucy i think she’s more excited about the IDEA of a boyfriend than the actual boyfriend himself (been there T_T it never ends well lmao)
“Nothin’ is always a little bit somethin'” is a great expression and I 100% have been there. Being a little on edge even around someone you love. Great stuff, might steal that
I can’t say exactly why. But I’m starting to dislike Walky really, really, really much.
playing Mario Kart on the sex raptor

(Life of Brian)
Sucks for Lucy but Walky just has way more chemistry with Amber
It looks like Walky and Lucy which is just as well because Lucy deserves better. On the bright side, I suspect Lucy would check a lot of boxes for Jacob who is looking for somebody like Joyce but not Joyce.
And for at least a little while, Walky, Amber, and Dina found peace.
