Is there significance to Carla having a star on her helmet and shoulder? Don’t know Roller Derby rules…
Yes, the Star (Carla) is the Jammer. (The one who can score points). The Solid Line (on Malaya) is the Pivot, the “lead” and can be given the Star if/when needed or tactically desirable. The plain helmets are all Blockers, who Block the other team’s Jammer and whip their own to the front. The helmet designs are simply covers which can normally be removed. Carla is so sure of theirself, that the arms stars may actually be tattoos. We don’t know.
