I don’t see why. Walky doesn’t know anything about that and even if he did and cared it would be easier to get him fired from his new job since he doesn’t have a bartender’s license.
When you attend a funeral
It is sad to think that sooner or
Later those you love will do the same for you
And you may have thought it tragic
(Not to mention other adjec-
-tives) to think of all the weeping they will do
But don’t you worry!
No more ashes, no more sackcloth
And an arm band made of black cloth
Will some day nevermore adorn a sleeve
For if the bomb that drops on you
Gets your friends and neighbours too
There’ll be nobody left behind to grieve!
I like how Amber’s default is still set to violence, old habits die hard as they say. Also I’m split on hoping that Walky gets back with Dorothy or getting together with Amber again. Truly a dilemma, because which couple is better for each other?
Actually, 100 kilos ~= 1000 N. If you can jump 1 meter high, you’ve just delivered 1000 N-m = 1 kJ. (= 1000 W-s, which is kind of impressive if you think about it.)
One arm is weaker than two legs, of course. But Amazi-Girl’s fist might deliver a couple tenths of a kJ.
No, she couldn’t. IIRC she’s about my height, and not that much.. wider.. than me, and even when I had enough muscle to cause trouble finding clothes I was under 130lbs. I’d guess she’s around 140-160.
For her to be 220lbs, at her height she’d have to be, like, a sumo wrestler or something.
Well an average trained boxer’s punch delivers 776 pounds of force to the target, which translates to 3450 N. Now to figure out how much energy is actually being transfered i would need to know the crossectional area of Amazigirl’s fists, and whether or not her gloves have ridges to create smaller contact points, not unlike a brass knuckle.
Not necessarily.
They’ll definitely jump in when other crimes are going on and it’s fairly common for them to track down known villains who must be up to some nefarious scheme.
This on the other hand sounds like pure revenge, since they have no idea he’s currently up to anything bad.
I’m all aboard the Walky/Amber ship. I loved how they could both accept each other without pressuring each other to be different (or feel internal pressure to be different to live up to their partner’s imagined expectations). Walky could never have that with Dorothy….
That alt text concerns me, but the prospect of more Sal backstory has raised it’s head. Therefore, I say full speed ahead! I can see NO DOWN SIDE to this plan. 😀
I literally did not know about this movie until tonight. The fact that it stars Ralph Fiennes, Uma Thurman, and Sean Connery, and still managed to get an IMDB rating of 3.7…”incomprehensible” is a truly appropriate word.
To be fair, the original series didn’t sport many comprehensible plots. But robots as murderers and model planes that drop bombs on offending parties are incredibly cool ideas for that time. (Not to mention that Emma didn’t always need to be rescued and obviously was the more intelligent of the pair).
Walky: “I was thinking of talking, or a prank, or seeing if that guy is still bad or became a better person…”
Amber: “I don’t do those things. I just punch evil people and small time criminals.”
Walky: “Well, we could go punch Trump?”
Amber: *Suits up as Amazi-Girl.* “Let’s go.”
She’s just annoyed how quickly he casually cuts to the heart of things.
Also she hates the idea of being Chewbacca but kind of worries he’s right at the same time.
If he’s trying to track down Asher I’m not too why he’d bother. If Asher has done anything against Sal or Walky I don’t think it’s been brought up yet, and if currently going to college he has probably put his criminal past behind him.
Last I heard Asher ran away from home at the age of 10 and was heavily involved in this underground animal fighting ring. He got really obsessed with catching and training new stock, it got pretty bad.
Walky blames Asher for Sal doing the robberies? I mean, that’s a little bit right, but we haven’t seen him pushing her into it. He definitely enabled, but the feel of that storyline was that Sal went looking for fast money by any means neccesary.
I think it’s more, Walky knows he was involved and he and Sal have some sort of negative (or he thinks its negative) history and so he doesn’t want it to blow up if they run into each other like Amber and Sal did.
So it isn’t that she’s not good enough to get into Yale, but rather that she’s not bad enough? Dang, good thing nobody’d ever try to point that out to her!
Extremely unlikely. Amber is from Indianapolis, smack dab in the middle of the state, while Asher is from Evansville on the southern border. The two cities are about 180 miles apart.
The only time we know Amber was in Evansville was the field trip where Sal held up the convenience store. We also know that Asher wasn’t at that particular holdup.
So unless there is some as-yet unrevealed plot point, they probably don’t know each other. Of course, Sal-and-Amber was once an unrevealed plot point, so no one knows except Willis.
Walky, stick to goof and denial (or if you want to improve, work on the denial part). Don’t waddle into the ‘sneaky schemes’ way of dealing with things. You are not built for it and it WILL make things worse.
Look, I get what you’re saying. Normally, I’d agree with you that this is not Walky’s forte and he should stay out of it.
BUT
This is my chance at getting more Sal backstory, so instead I am gonna say YOU HUSH. Let the Duke of Thingley try new things!
…Yes, I realize I just got a whole storyline full of Sal backstory not that long ago, but imagine this were like…I dunno, more Becky or Dina backstory. That’s the level of enthusiasm I have for this. 😛
Sal’s not allowed to have a break. She’s my favourite character so I want more info about her, and sadly she has a sad backstory so the incidents that reveal said backstory will probably be unfun.
I’m guessing that they’re talking about Jason. Although, IMO, the worst thing they can do to him is to tell him that a freshman student has done a better job of tutoring Sal than him and that her grades are up. That would be twisting the knife in his ego!
If he wanted to get back at Jason it would be easier to get him fired since he doesn’t have a bartender license. Insulting his teaching abilities means nothing since he knows he wasn’t good at it.
Walky doesn’t know Jason and Sal have a history. He is not likely to be thrilled if he finds out, given his attitude towards Ruth after finding out about her and Billie. He was less than impressed.
Hmm… we’ve established that Head Alien and his lot are fictional in this universe, but no similar establishment has occurred for SEMME.
Then again, in this more grounded, realistic universe, it’s a lot harder to believe that a top secret government organization would ever employ someone like Walky.
Since Monkey Master and the Head Alien are a part of the Dumbiverse — at least as a comic/video format — why wouldn’t SEMME be a part of that same universe?
Or better yet, try this on for size … the person who designed the hoodie as seen in real life was inspired by having read “It’s Walky”, and only the cognoscenti would recognize the stripe and understand.
I didn’t think Jason wronged her THAT much
[/JOKE come on]
Hey, Joe’s trying to be better, ya know?
Is he though?
Who, Jason ? lol
Damnit Ana.
Post post post
As fast as you dare
You’ll find that Ana
Is already there
I beat her once, but I was very annoying in doing so.
do’nt care about speed, it’s just we said the same thing basically
Well, when you’re right, you’re right.

I don’t see why. Walky doesn’t know anything about that and even if he did and cared it would be easier to get him fired from his new job since he doesn’t have a bartender’s license.
Well this is an idea
This will end with them burying a body.
Technically everything ends with someone burying a body
Nah, some poor sap is gonna pop the world like a grape one day and then there won’t be any burying.

False. The last one will be unburied.
Not if they die in a landslide
“Robots vs. Wrestlers” was a show that already happened in “How I met your mother”, so I don’t see what prevents a robot-undertaker!
If they want to know the best place, they’ll have to break the wall into QC and talk to Faye.
She’s probably willing to help. Or do it for them. Or at least watch.
Most undertakings usually do.
<3
Did you ever think when a hearse goes by
That you could be the next to die?
I like how Amber’s default is still set to violence, old habits die hard as they say. Also I’m split on hoping that Walky gets back with Dorothy or getting together with Amber again. Truly a dilemma, because which couple is better for each other?
I could kinda see her logic, though. You go to a superhero for help, you might expect the punch helps.
Fair enough, and to Amber’s credit, she does it very well.
Amber, Amber, puncha puncha;
Mess you up a buncha buncha.
No use hidin’ ‘neath the bed,
Amber finda, punch yo’ head.
I am pumped up because Battlebots is back, and now I am wondering, just how many kilojoules does Amazi-Girl’s Fist of Justice deliver?
Kilojoules are a tall order for flesh and blood.
All things are possible with scientific notation.
Of course, Amber doesn’t weigh 100 kilos (220 lbs), and if she did, she couldn’t jump a meter.
I dunno, she could weigh that much, if a lot of it is muscle. Do we have a direct number listed anywhere?
No, she couldn’t. IIRC she’s about my height, and not that much.. wider.. than me, and even when I had enough muscle to cause trouble finding clothes I was under 130lbs. I’d guess she’s around 140-160.
For her to be 220lbs, at her height she’d have to be, like, a sumo wrestler or something.
What if the punch is delivered from a low rooftop? (As in jumping down from the rooftop and punching as she does.)
Most superheroes only fight when attacked those. Here, amber is the one who wants to start the fight. There’s a difference.
I’m rooting for Lucy
Walky didn’t seem that interested in Lucy, at least romantically.
That alt text concerns me, but the prospect of more Sal backstory has raised it’s head. Therefore, I say full speed ahead! I can see NO DOWN SIDE to this plan. 😀
“It’s not like this can go worse than the last time we saw Asher!” I say, like a fool
Soooo… he’s hunting down Asher, then.
I thought they were talking about Leland.
Leland’s at Yale.
ROADTRIP
Sal looked him up and he’s at an Ivy League. Asher, however, goes here.
Little did Walky Walkerton and Amber O’Malley know that this simple conversation would lead to the formation of the Dumbvengers.
Walky in a bowler and umbrella like John Steed?
He’d look more like Chaplin’s The Little Tramp.
Nah, if it’s the Dumbvengers, he’d more likely be Dum Dum Dugan! 😀
You don’t know how disappointed I was when I realized a movie called “The Avengers” didn’t involve Emma Peel.
That just means you missed the 1998 version!
The Avengers (1998)
Oh, there’s one of those, too – Sean Connery was in it.
It’s, eh… Incomprehensible is putting it lightly.
I literally did not know about this movie until tonight. The fact that it stars Ralph Fiennes, Uma Thurman, and Sean Connery, and still managed to get an IMDB rating of 3.7…”incomprehensible” is a truly appropriate word.

OMG! This, yeah, meeee also -cause w remember.
‘No, no! We need to gauge how big of a jerk he is before we pulp him!’
“Ah, so we know how much we need to pulp him. Good idea.”
amber is more of a punch first, intel later person
Depends, I guess. she had to get a bunch of intel to catch Joyce that one time.
So is Walky talking about Jason or Asher?
I don’t think he knows about Jason. Unless she told him and I missed him. He did make this kind of funny remark. http://www.dumbingofage.com/2018/comic/book-8/04-of-mike-and-men/structure/
Absolutely nothing could possibly go wrong with this plan, and I unreservedly endorse it.
“I love this plan! I’m excited to be a part of it!”
Huh. Amber seems a lot more frosty towards Walky than I expected. Maybe she’s taking the them-not-dating thing more seriously than he is?
I mean he just went ‘You owe my sister a life debt so you should help me” I’d be frosty too.
Ah, hm. That would make sense! I guess Amber is not as used to Walky’s Walky-ish ways as I am, and I kinda glossed over that.
She’s just annoyed how quickly he casually cuts to the heart of things.
Also she hates the idea of being Chewbacca but kind of worries he’s right at the same time.
Ah, so that’s it. This could prove mightily interesting.
If he’s trying to track down Asher I’m not too why he’d bother. If Asher has done anything against Sal or Walky I don’t think it’s been brought up yet, and if currently going to college he has probably put his criminal past behind him.
Vendetta knows no gray areas, and payback is on the menu.
And revenge is a dish best served cold.
…with fava beans and a nice chianti.
While wearing the tattered flesh of one’s enemies.
He has a history with Sal. Last time someone showed up with a history with Sal, it kinda blew up. Probably wise to get ahead of it this time.
That said, I really hope Asher’s doing better. I think it’s clear something was rotten in his house.
+1 for the pun!
Last I heard Asher ran away from home at the age of 10 and was heavily involved in this underground animal fighting ring. He got really obsessed with catching and training new stock, it got pretty bad.
What pun?

Walky. No.
So am i stupid for not knowing whom “he” is or is everyone here in the dark on who theyre revenge punching
Asher, the kid who took part in robberies with Sal.

Must have forgotten that one. Great, Leland’s in Yale. No wonder Dorothy can’t make it there, she’s just not enough of a predator.
So it isn’t that she’s not good enough to get into Yale, but rather that she’s not bad enough? Dang, good thing nobody’d ever try to point that out to her!
Readers and especially commenters of this comic tend to be obsessive. That’s not the same thing as smart.
The odds-on favorite for “he” is Asher.
Does Amber know Asher?
Extremely unlikely. Amber is from Indianapolis, smack dab in the middle of the state, while Asher is from Evansville on the southern border. The two cities are about 180 miles apart.

I’m guessing that they’re talking about Jason. Although, IMO, the worst thing they can do to him is to tell him that a freshman student has done a better job of tutoring Sal than him and that her grades are up. That would be twisting the knife in his ego!

Love it. I think willis also said on his tumblr that he saw a jacket like that out in the wild?
Yep! I think I saw it too, at walmart or meijer, and almost bought it, but that could be a false memory tbh. https://dumbingofage.tumblr.com/post/183540510037/dumbingofage-walky-btw-the-hoodies-real-and
It makes him look like a school crossing guard.
Awww, what a terrible idea <3 but well-intended.
The crime couple are at it again.
Dang, they really are dangerously close to graduating from Garbage straight into Crime right now, aren’t they?
I wish there was a panel 3 without the dialogue line
ok, alternative plan. don’t do those things
