I think Willis might have actually based that last face off the court sketch of Shkreli? I remember it looking pretty close to that. (You can find an impartial jury, but you don’t need an impartial court artist, I think the joke went.)
The sketch singular, Regalli? I did a google image search and while the first result is I’m guessing the one you mean, there… doesn’t seem to be a single sketch of Shkreli where he doesn’t look incredibly smug and punchable.
The creepy is strong with this one. Seriously, did the little dude slip his leash, or what? The last time I saw a smile like that was on Pennywise the Clown in “IT”.
@Daniel: The person behind the desk is clearly not Asma – wrong skin tone, no hijab. So she cannot be tagged, she isn’t in the scene. So whatever weird inference you are drawing from the lack of a tag is unjustified.
At least he admits his facial expressions are punch-able. Also, Joyce seems to be able to reign him in. Guess it speaks to her level of patience/tolerance?
This is the most I’ve ever liked Faz in any universe (and by liked I mean slightly past indifference).
I definitely prefer Sassy Faz to Creepy Faz any day of the week.
Theory time.
What if the bit of hair covering Faz’s face is covering a black eye from Blaine?
Ya know, since Amber actually beat him up, it could be Blaine’s way of showing an amount of dominance somewhere.
Thus Faz’s current escape to the person that got away from the shitstorm that is Blaine.
That’s possible. And has two horrible implications.
1. Since I think he’s always had that hair, it would imply that he’s been hiding his black eyes for at least as long as we’ve seen him and probably longer.
2. It makes him saying he has no look that isn’t punchable less funny and more sad as he could literally believe that based off the abuse.
One of the things I find truly awesome about this comment section – and also unbearably sad – is that almost everybody here understands abuse, and what it does to people.
It’s interesting that he’s listening so well. To me it says that Faz isn’t self-absorbed with being a creep like everyone’s comments have implied to me he was in the other comic in the Willis Multiverse, but desperately wants to interact with people. He instead seems really isolated and out of touch, and if the abuse theories are true, it’s incredibly sad and gives me even more reasons to hate Blaine.
Yeah, like Clif said, it’s Billie. She hasn’t met Lucy as far as we know.
She probably wants Billie’s opinion on what Joe said abou Sarah, or possibly about Joe’s potential feelings for her.
Or both.
Hmm, Faz has a connection to Amber.
Amber pawns off Faz to Joe as there is a possible future connection between them.
Joe pawns off Faz to Joyce.
Thus proving the Joyce/Joe connection isn’t mere shipping, the comic itself symbolically supports it!
(screaming while being restrained in a straight jacket and dragged off by men in white coats) “It’s not shipping! it’s subtext!” 🙂
Completely off topic for this particular strip, I’m watching “Little Big Shot,” And the first guest is a kid musician/singer named Tai. In showing a video of him starting out in music, there’s a shot of Tai about 8 or 9, standing on a table playing a blue ukulele and wearing a newsboy cap!
Am I the only one that likes the interaction between Faz and Joyce? I don’t think I have ever seen Faz try to modify his behavior for anyone. Or even to acknowledge that it could be modified. The Force is strong with her.
Next: Faz tries opening his eyes
CREEPUNCHABLE FACTOR X9999999
alt:”Everything is punchable if you believe in yourself!”
The Italian restaurant in the town I live in, their sign says “Any pizza can be a personal pizza if you believe in yourself.” How Fazolian.
Is that a pun? If so, well done.
It’s true. I once ate an entire 24″ pizza myself. It was extremely personal.
Goddamn. What a mighty need.
Best gravatar.
Ah, to be a teenager with a bottomless pit for a stomach again…
“Eyes? Faz has no need for such primitive producers of vision.”
Pokemon: Brock Begins
Oh gods, I hate associating Brock with Faz but the proof is there.
“Brock’s dad was from another universe? That probably explains a few things.”
I think it’s the opposite. We aren’t ready for open eye Faz.
It’s already happened once, in the old universe.
Faz is great.
o shit
Faz is new best character.
… for punching!
What Faz doesn’t have, cannot be punched
That alt text though. I can’t unsee it.
Good way to undo any good will I had for him before.
I think Willis might have actually based that last face off the court sketch of Shkreli? I remember it looking pretty close to that. (You can find an impartial jury, but you don’t need an impartial court artist, I think the joke went.)
Misremembering. Somehow Faz looks even creepier.
The sketch singular, Regalli? I did a google image search and while the first result is I’m guessing the one you mean, there… doesn’t seem to be a single sketch of Shkreli where he doesn’t look incredibly smug and punchable.
just slap an eggplant emoji on his face. that’s way better while still being accurate
Faz is the eggplant emoji made flesh.
one aspect of faz’s greatness is that it can be expressed in only two facial expressions
All we need now is a graph to depict it.
Joyce, you’re in no position to triangle-smile shame anyone.
Single-Giant-tooth-platedness is a serious condition that affects tens of Americans.
At least he’s somewhat self aware…..
An upgrade from the other universe.
He was capable of killing lions in the other universe. Let’s throw this one to some and see if that holds true here!
What have lions ever done to you?
Nothing, and if we play our cards right, they never will!
glorious smirk.
Also, thinking about it? Joyce could only travel so far thanks to.. Faz ? What did the world come to ?
haha that smile isn’t creepy at all. on an unrelated note, where’s my flamethrower.
Didn’t know it was actually physically possible for him to change his physical expression, up till now I thought it was like some sort of condition.
Unfortunately, the medication for Shkreliface was jacked up by 1000% about two years ago.
*laughs, then cries*
I never really understood what he was trying to accomplish jacking up the price. The generic version of that drug is quite cheap and widely available.
*plays “Enjoy The Silence” on the hacked Muzak*
Faz is coming off as strangely human and kind of relate-able. What is this world coming to?
It’s a sign of the Apocalypse.
The creepy is strong with this one. Seriously, did the little dude slip his leash, or what? The last time I saw a smile like that was on Pennywise the Clown in “IT”.
Which version?
On today’s episode of things that are wrong with me, I instantly started shipping this front desk person with Asma.
Am I to assume that Asma is in an open relationship then, since Asma isn’t even tagged?
I…don’t understand your comment.
…I thought you were shipping the person asking at the front desk with Asma, not the person behind the front desk. I feel ultra silly now.
I’m so lost. Are we in Narnia now?
Let me check my chart.
I have no idea how any of those things are connected.
@Daniel: The person behind the desk is clearly not Asma – wrong skin tone, no hijab. So she cannot be tagged, she isn’t in the scene. So whatever weird inference you are drawing from the lack of a tag is unjustified.
Out of complete confusion comes the idea of a queer hijabi romance, unless the person at the desk identifies as male.
Either way, I’m so down with this ocean. Let’s get a story started!!!
I don’t SHIP them exactly…
But I hope they meat up for a coffee once a week to complain about the residents.
“One of mine ORDERED A 1 METER TALL DILDO!”
It’s a slow burn romance that starts with meeting for coffee and will burn beyond the length of the comic.
I like the way you think, you’re hired.
I really, really like this idea.
I knew there was a reason I liked her
https://twitter.com/damnyouwillis/status/985545539767939074
Guess who I am on Twitter, honestly
Who are you kidding, the heat death of the universe won’t outlast this comic.
What if he puts a paper box over his face?
Covering up a creepy face with a paper container… Where have I seen that before?
Have you ever had a Chao Garden, by any chance?
Then draws the same triangle smile on the box.
Having Shkreli-face is certainly a real problem. Not sure I’d call it medical, though.
For a start, it’s a significant risk factor for being Shkreli.
Um.
Oh, Dorothy. Now is not a good time to be single.
Faz is probably earnestly trying right now, and that’s kinda sad.
Sad, yes, but also heartening. He clearly really wants to impress Joyce and there is an element of sweetness to that.
You could always punch some new facial expressions onto his face.
Faz is a sexual tyrannosaur.
If only Dinah was single.
He already tried to ‘woe’ that one.
Wasn’t super effective.
I don’t know if this is a typo or not, since while “woo” is more what he tried to do, causing “woe” was much more the effect.
It WAS a typo… but I honestly like it better this way.
What did Dina do to you to deserve this
Her best
D:<
Joyce “Do you have anything non-punchable”
Faz “I do not”
Me: “Just like Martin Shkrrli“
Put a plain-colored surgical mask on Faz. That’s one problem solved.
draw a normal smile on it at least. otherwise it’ll look like he has no lips.
Sassy Faz might be the least intolerable Faz so far.
I had the same thought.
I am 1000% in favor of sassy Faz.
At least he admits his facial expressions are punch-able. Also, Joyce seems to be able to reign him in. Guess it speaks to her level of patience/tolerance?
And he disrespected the Wu Tang Clan.
Just a thought.
OH
I’m Sal!
THAT’S AWESOME! 😀
And here we thought Ethan coming in to turn off the lights would be sexyfuntimes, but instead everything just got really dark. o.o
Oh lord Joyce would be reduced to tears to find out Blaine had hit him.
Damnit, you just had to go and make Faz into a sympathetic kid! Now we can’t really hate him since it’s all a coping mechanism for his abuse!
That does make sense, and Willis hasn’t shied away from that kind of shock before…
One of the things I find truly awesome about this comment section – and also unbearably sad – is that almost everybody here understands abuse, and what it does to people.
Faz is approaching Ted Cruz levels of punchable.
*sees that last panel*
JoaquinCruzReactingBadlyToTV.gif
… Not Joaquin Cruz, wtf? Joaquin Phoenix.
Dammit, brain
It’s interesting that he’s listening so well. To me it says that Faz isn’t self-absorbed with being a creep like everyone’s comments have implied to me he was in the other comic in the Willis Multiverse, but desperately wants to interact with people. He instead seems really isolated and out of touch, and if the abuse theories are true, it’s incredibly sad and gives me even more reasons to hate Blaine.
It’s promising that he is trying at least. Maybe there is hope for this version of Faz.
He could’ve done the Cheshire cat grin and become near invisible.
A floating Faz grin won’t help reduce his creepiness, that’s where it’s all expressed.
Faz’s self-awareness in this strip is actually quite disturbing! So, who is it that Joyce knows in Forest? Lucy maybe?
Billie .
This might however be the long awaited meeting of Lucy and Joyce. Can the campus survive that level of adorableness?
Yeah, like Clif said, it’s Billie. She hasn’t met Lucy as far as we know.
She probably wants Billie’s opinion on what Joe said abou Sarah, or possibly about Joe’s potential feelings for her.
Or both.
AAAAAH!
Holy sheeshkebab, that wee buttnugget does look like Shrekli…
Hmm, Faz has a connection to Amber.
Amber pawns off Faz to Joe as there is a possible future connection between them.
Joe pawns off Faz to Joyce.
Thus proving the Joyce/Joe connection isn’t mere shipping, the comic itself symbolically supports it!
(screaming while being restrained in a straight jacket and dragged off by men in white coats) “It’s not shipping! it’s subtext!” 🙂
if I follow that…
You are suggesting Amber/Joe/Joyce polyamory? or just friendshipping?
So, can Sassy Faz make syntactically awesome stylesheets?
Well that’s even creepier.
Well… at least he’s honest and self-aware to a certain part!
This relationship is so precious and pure. I love the un-corrupting influence Joyce has on everyone who comes in contact with her <3
That is the truth.
Well… except ToeDad – but it’s not for her lack of trying.
And her plan B was pretty nice as well.
hah hah he does look like shkreli
This is the 69th strip of “Fax is Great”.
I note this milestone in honor of Faz.
Isn’t a group of 69 anythings together called a Nice?
Strongly suspect that for Faz, being punched is not hypothetical or at all humorous.
He’s clearly gone through extensive testing.
Maybe?
He has talked about violence against him as a turn on, which just gets even more disturbing if he’s a physical abuse victim.
Wait! They’re going into Forrest Quad! To meet Billie, I suppose.
Does that mean… Faz might meet Zaph?
*annihilation levels Forrest Quad*
At least he seems to be making a genuine effort… And the suspicion is back!
He is more self aware then I expected.
Faz is an SCP!!!! That or he is just a jerk.
HE DOES LOOK LIKE SHKRELI!!!!
Everyone vote for the Forest Quad desk clerk for the Patreon strip so that I can potentially get a new Gravatar.
Or don’t. Your choice. (Do it.)
Faz is the love child of Ted Cruz and Martin Shkreli…
Bahahahaha.
Also every.single.person I have met who has Shrekli-face is a massive asshole. It is like being a massive fucknozzle imprints itself on your face.
I am disappointed. I was hoping for a triangle smile dominance contest.
I did not know who Martin Shkreli was before this comic. Having image-searched him, that is indeed one punchable face.
