“You pushed me away with your very hands.
Once were so wanted by me, what can I do? What should I do?
I no longer have your~ breath here with me, but I am still loving you.
What can I do? What should I do?
Please, oh please. Come back.”
Where can we hear it, ninja_jesus? I am not familiar enough with the genre or with Korean to look at the Hangul and know the song. The only Asian pop I know much about is old Thai plaeng peua chiwit, which is unfortunately not considered cool by the Internet.
I looked at the top part of the picture before the rest had loaded on my screen, said to myself, Well that last panel is a kiss. Instead I got a Pacific Rim headbutt. Thank you, Willis.
If you pop over to Roomies, you can catch the start of the arc in the strips airing right now. Mind you, there’s an awful lot to go before it pays off.
I-It’s the rain. It’s the storm we all have to endure. We hate it but it’s every drop that runs down your face that traces out who you are, your shape… including the freshman fifteen you’re already rocking down south. Seriously, if you’d lay off the studying a little and go out with me more often we might have kept up. We just got owned by a WoW nerd with a pair of bolt cutters. The storm shows me so much right now, but not your abs.
Heartwarming to see that, despite the crushing defeat she suffered(and all the frustration it surely encompass),Dorothy hasn’t forgotten the truly important things.Corny,I know, but what can I say? Life’s not always made of testosterone.
Concern: that this is going to be a coin-flip of perspective; one, Dorothy and Walky’s sweet, romantic adventures (with which I sympathize and from which I think most readers derive a good deal of amusement) and two, Amber’s equally understandable POV. But, my concern is that with the latter, something negative will occur. There’s a moral shoe to fall somewhere, usually, in Dave Willis’s comics, and what if Amber is the new Ruth in a Princess Diana fashion? To evade pursuers who didn’t see anything wrong in a chase for their own goals– who actually had a lot of jesting fun out of it, and for whom it seems to have been just a tiny bit of a game– Amber’s been put in a dangerous position. She’s on the roof of a moving truck, in the rain. Just saying, she could get really badly injured as a result of her attempt to evade publicity.
Alternately, we could cue to Amber drying off safe and sound, or skip the rest of this entirely and see Amber in another context later, thus deducting she was pretty okay with the truck-surfing; until then, though, the nagging feeling fears something horrible will happen.
It’s the rain… it’s the storm we all have to endure.
We are beautiful. It’s the world that is ugly.
Thank you, David Willis, for having written those words (and all the ones in between) a long time ago. They are among my list of amazing phrases said by fictional characters.
it would be funny if they released it but it was just a cinema painted on the side of a cliff
DiscussingFilm@discussingfilm.bsky.social ⋅ 1d
‘COYOTE VS ACME’ has been officially saved by Ketchup Entertainment, who bought the film for $50M
They plan to give the film a worldwide theatrical release in 2026.
do y'all remember when they found all that tf art in Osamu Tezuka's drawer post-mortem because I think about it often
anyway keep chasing your bliss and draw weird shit, god knows we need that right now
Today in #9ChickweedLane I learned that I have to weigh which is worse: the cartoonist already forgetting what this guy looks like one daily strip later, or that, yes, he's actually meant to be an old man, not a victim to an older cartoonist forgetting what young people look like
Like any average American, I’m for universal basic income and abolishing the police. I can’t get on board with these ultra-leftists calling for the universal hive mind, though!
maura quint@mauraquint.bsky.social ⋅ 1d
going to start calling myself a centrist and then listing all my leftist views as proof, just going to start moving the overton window by force
I've spent the past few days reading through the entire archive of @damnyouwillis.bsky.social's Dumbing of Age and this has been stuck in my head for about 90% of that time.
So, who’s going to be hit by a truck.
Nobody dies in the strip. Which means everyone is killed by the truck’s children off screen.
“You’d be surprised what you can live through.”
What an esoteric reference.
Anyone over 21 has probably seen The Return of Jafar.
That doesn’t sound…actually I have no comment for this, as I have seen the Return of Jafar.
Everyone is Amnesia Zombies.
So they spread amnesia to people by biting ’em?
And they don’t remember biting them either.
Who doesn’t remember? Remember what?
Truck children? How does that happen?
GASP!
They’re Transformers!!
*getting horrible memories of ToplessRobot’s Fan Fiction Friday*
Optimus Prime, whyyyyy! T_T
I usually don’t like Chuck Norris jokes, except this one:
Once upon a time Chuck Norris had sex with a robot.
The result is nowadays known as Optimus Prime.
Well I’m pretty certain Amazi-girl is going to get beaned by a streetlight if she doesn’t pay attention to where she’s going…
Is Walky going to start pontificating now?
Hummm. Here it comes.
Forecasters predict an 800% rise in feels over the next two weeks.
Brace yourselves.
The feels are coming!
*plays the Styx song “Haven’t We Been Here Before?” from KILROY WAS HERE*
I hadn’t seen the video since it was on “Friday Night Videos” thirty years ago–and man…it’s better than I remembered.
All work and no play make Dorothy a dull girl.
Man, I just cannot like Dorothy.
Mmm… that’s good self reference, Sir Willis.
I DID NOT INVENT RAIN.
Surely you jest Mr Willis!
Did you invent asshole parents?
I’m pretty sure I’m required to say “no, they invented me” regardless of whether it’s actually true.
Referencing your other universe, mister?! That’s a no-no in this forum, by order of the Head Cheese, himsel…. uh, nevermind.
Sure you didn’t, Willis.
Or should I say THE RAINMAKER?
Making it rain on all of us!
“It’s the rain” was one of my favorite scenes in It’s Walky, I love you so much for referencing it.
Where is it?? Someone post the link — please! I’ve only read It’s Walky once through — I’ll never find it on my own…
Never mind. A kind soul already did so, downstream!
This is the funniest thing I’ve ever read.
How are you not bankrupt? You have to pay a licensing fee every time one of your comics has a precipitous event!

*flees for dear punning life*
It’s the-
*checks the alt-text*
goddammit.
For those who can not access the alt-text, it says blood of blueberries.
And for those who don’t believe Mr. Random, It’s the rain
Apologies to anyone who believed my doppalganger.
Yeah, we aren’t proud of Cousin Ongion. Spreadin lies.
I love you guys.
Th-that’s stupid, baka!
Joyce will come and be very jealous.
Amazi-girl: great for on-campus crime, better for on-campus bangin’.
That should be her slogan.
She went back for Tailgate, but left the condoms.
Because she knew that once she got away, SOMEONE would have good use for them.
Hooray for random downpours.
Awwww
I guess rain is just Walky’s natural aphrodisiac.
No, that’s Nachitos.
It’s BOTH.
Raining Nachitos? That could get messy.
Hallelujah.
I love how both of these things are references to other things.
The rain cleans him off a bit.
And Dina looks out her dorm window, much regret in her eyes as Walky and Dorothy kiss elsewhere on campus.
She is sad, but she knows not why…
She then convinces Amber to kiss her.
Amber, who’s obviousely been in her room all day playing games.
You win. Everyone else can go home now. Good game everyone.
Shouldn’t it be Joyce who sees and is sad?
Actually, nevermind, I know what you mean. The Sunday strip after “It’s the rain”.
Adding this to my Headcanon mental files…..
Oh, God. All I see is a Nicholas Sparks novel cover.
Willis actually got a commission to do one.
Curses, I was going to type what’s in the alt text. Damn you Willis!
NOW KISHHH!!!
Oh no, this is far too cute.
hella, even.
hella cute.
Its the rain thats a terrible idea. Chasing superheroes is an amazing idea
Go on and kiss the girl
Is this a little mermaid reference?
No but thanks for asking
Rain is cool. Running through the rain with your lover is basically cooler than Fonzie.
But is it Cooler than Frieza?
That pun’s so bad, I might just Buu you.
I wouldn’t be surprised if people started throwing rotten fruits and Vegetas at me.
It’s time for you to go han.
They’ll lock you in a Cell.
You could be in there for five to Tien.
Yup. The only crime worse than puns is Krillin’.
WAIT SHIT I GET THE REFERENCE AFTER ALL
Man, sometimes I forgot how much Walky and Dorothy are a good match. Their personalities complement each other pretty perfectly.
I’m having a Commissioner Gordon and Essen flashback.
Quick someone reference a love song involving Rain
It’s hard to hold a candle in the cold November rain.
Um,oh got ” just like the clouds, my eyes will do the same if you walk away, everyday in the rain.
Here comes the rain again, falling on my head like a memory, falling on my head like a new emotion . . .
“You pushed me away with your very hands.
Once were so wanted by me, what can I do? What should I do?
I no longer have your~ breath here with me, but I am still loving you.
What can I do? What should I do?
Please, oh please. Come back.”

“It’s rainin’ men, hallelujah”
I looked at the top part of the picture before the rest had loaded on my screen, said to myself, Well that last panel is a kiss. Instead I got a Pacific Rim headbutt. Thank you, Willis.
Darnit. Willis beat me to it!
Sal, come on and appear.
Bad alt-text, read Rule 3!
Nobody follows that rule.
Just like we’re not supposed to talk about the first two rules?
Meanwhile, Dina looks out the window, shrugs, and eats some cereal.
And from a nearby window Joyce is watching them sadly.
Daww, why are these two so cute?
Sometimes failure is awesome.
this tender moment will soon be c-blocked by Joyce
MEANWHILE:
Amber is soaking wet stuck on top of a truck going who-knows-where.
To her destiny.
Obligatory romantic rain scene here
The Rain in Spain falls mainly on the Walky.
And maybe Blaine?
Okay, would someone please explain whatever “reference” is going on here to a noob who’s only read DoA?
Very emotional scene in IW! That led to character growth for both Walky and Joyce, and a deepening of issues to a third party.
If you pop over to Roomies, you can catch the start of the arc in the strips airing right now. Mind you, there’s an awful lot to go before it pays off.
It’s from this strip: http://itswalky.com/d/20020504.html
Sad that all good things must eventually come to an end.
To be fair, all bad things come to an end too. The transitory nature of reality.
Nitpick: heat death of universe doesn’t come to an end.
“It’s the rain” – Oh the feels!
I know, right?
Kisssssssss
If you listen closely, it’s what the rIn says in evey movie.
Tell her “you’re welcome”.
THEN kiss.
Walky and Dorothy’s relationship leveled up!
Yeah, Joyce better get her act in gear, or she’ll never steal Dotty away from him.
i wanna see walky go for the upside down spiderman kiss
Again?
They’re in the rain, it’d be more authentic this time.
Aww <3
Things are gonna go wrong. I can just tell. Feels. Feels everywhere. Can’t pick them up. Gaaah.
I held her close
Until the storm passed,
And we fell down laughing in the wet grass.
Both our bodies drying in the sunshine.
SQUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Fuck. You. Willis.
Walky’s shenanigans make Dorothy wet.
I both groaned and laughed in the same instance when I read this.
*reads alt text*
DAMN YOU WILLIS.
When the rain comes/they run and hide their heads…
(Lennon/McCartney)
Begone, angst! This rain is for makeouts!
Until the inevitable Amber/Danny/Blaine thing that’s coming up. Then you can come back, I guess.
I’m watching you.
Earworm alert: Blame it on the rain.
For some reason this comic makes me afraid Willis is going to give one of them terminal cancer.
Oh my gawd. The rain. It is traveling across dimensions to soak every version of Walky it can find.
Aw, this is adorable!!
I always loved the “It’s the Rain…” Scene. It was fantastic.
Agreed. One of the highmarks of the Walkyverse.
I-It’s the rain. It’s the storm we all have to endure. We hate it but it’s every drop that runs down your face that traces out who you are, your shape… including the freshman fifteen you’re already rocking down south. Beautiful.

That alt-text…dammit, bringing back the urge to archive binge. Again.
I feel sorry for Amazi-Girl, she’s clinging for dear life to a slick bus roof in a rainstorm. Not smart Amber. Not smart at all.
Daaaaaaawwwwwwww!!!
http://itswalky.com/d/20020504.html
Walky is gonna get lucky tonight!!!
And it will last 25.1/8 seconds.
Lucky that Jeph is in England or else he would of surely “improved” this comic with some anal wind passing.
Willis comics – rain only happens at important times.
Don’t worry Dorothy, “It can’t rain all the time”
Concern: that this is going to be a coin-flip of perspective; one, Dorothy and Walky’s sweet, romantic adventures (with which I sympathize and from which I think most readers derive a good deal of amusement) and two, Amber’s equally understandable POV. …also, I should get a gravatar… I mean, nothing against Ruth, but not my ideal representation
Cosmic irony: Amazi-Girl had those condoms for Danny, Dorothy’s ex.
They’re totally going to use them, now…
AWWWWWW.
