Sal did brutally murder her in her sleep. Then she stuck a tape recording of her snoring under her seat so we’d think that she was just sleeping.
Good lord, I got first comment on both comics. I truly have no life.
I agree wholeheartedly.
That Sal brutally murdered Billie or that Joebo has no life?
Clearly that Joebo has no life.
I somehow read “stuck a tape” wrong and thought you meant she taped a big Z speech bubble to the window.
I though about saying that she did, but then thought better of it since it would kinda break down the fourth wall.
Does this strip have a fourth wall? I know the other continuity dosn’t, what with Drama tags and such things. An early Roomies! arc acctually had the characters revolt against willis. (starts here:

This strip will never break the fourth wall. I don’t plan for it to flirt with the fourth wall, either. That sort of thing is what Shortpacked! is for.
Because of you and that cursed link, I just spent the last several hours browsing through old Roomies! strips. Thanks, jerk.
ever been to TV tropes? here is Walky verse’s page

If it did have a fourth wall, it would be a window. And Sal would jump through it.
that would have made for an interesting plotline, however…
Who wants to volunteer to start the alternate universe fanfic where this happened?
I’ll be at a con over the weekend, but when I get back I’ll whip something up.
If I remember.

“Room…mate?”
It hadn’t occurred to me until reading your post, but is Sal genuinely unaware that she has a roommate?
or a room?
We know she knows that she has a room – she put her stuff into it at the start of the comic, before batmanning away to hide from Animal for thirty comics. And it would seem reasonable for her to assume that the drunk girl she found there (and murdered) last night is her roommate. It’s just that they’ve never been formally introduced, so Sal didn’t recognize her name.
But we only know that Sal put her Catholic schoolgirl uniforms into the room. It’s entirely possible that she just thinks it’s a closet, and she’s actually living somewhere else.
is sal’s glove missing the red part in panel 3? I like that the other students are drawn out more in panel four, instead of just being outlines. Is joyce shy around Walky now? she seemed to hide behind Sal awful fast when he showed up. Mike will never not scowl.
Not shy, she’s mad at him, and hero-worshipping Sal.
Guess Billie ain’t getting that cheerleader uniform back anytime soon.
I don’t think she would be very happy if she did.

you never know, she may like the Billiekini moar then the original, very vanilla cheerleader uniform
My new gravatar will brutally murder you in your sleep.
Well damn.
And now it fixes itself, trying to humiliate me before brutally murdering me. Tricky Gravatar is tricky.
I assume you set up a new gravatar and Willis didn’t add a new one?
Yup, although this Sal would be much more awesome than the current Random Sal.
On my other web browser for this one (I have 3 of them). The original It’s Walky Sal, I enjoyed much more. Good thing Billie wasn’t murdered. This Sal really is random.
Aww, poor Joyce is blushing as Walky comes along.
I don’t think Joyce’s blushing.. it’s just her cheek color.
Well, mystery solved.
Interesting, same Gravatar as my Google Chrome browser. Didn’t think it’d be the same.
My God that’s an awesome username.
Thanks, I’ve been using it for quite some time now for fanfiction.net, e-mail, and other sites. Though it’s actually fully Digidestined of Trust-Megaligo Ranger Silver Dragon Knight.
It’s funny though. My Gravatar for Shortpacked in fact is Aslan. So for this comic I get a superhero Gravatar and for that one I get the Wise Aslan.
^ I second that!
There is a bit of tension in Panel 2, at least from Joyce’s gestures. Yet, at the same time, it’s quite cute.
Suddenly I’m debating if Sal will drag Joyce back to the dorm room, and without direct influence… Joyce is tempted by the sinful liquor. The consequences, particularly her distress at the corruption of her faith, would be intriguing.
Is Sal going to use a door? Or will she just appear in class?
She’s going to burst through the little windows at the top of the door. She’s making progress on the road to using doors, but she’s not yet there.
she’s gonna throw down a bottle of ninja smoke (or as it always makes me lol, Teenage mutant ninja turtles: “ninja. VANISH), reappear in the classroom, backstab the teach–
..sorry, been playing the dragon age 2 demo recently
aw.. i feel so bad about billie 🙁
I don’t. If she hadn’t stayed up all night, she’d have seen her roommate at her morning class.
She could also have left a note on Sal’s bed, but that would deny us yet another wacky breakdown in communication..
you have valid points but i still feel yself felling sorry for her
Fair enough. People deserve some pity even for the things they could avoid if it occurred to them.
When does Mike not scowl?
When he’s drunk. But I hardly think that counts. LOL
He’s also smiled once or twice sober in the other continuity. It’s usually horrifying.
I still have nightmares.
Why are they taking a class at the Ghostbusters’ firehouse?
Because Jason is the TA.
Because they need access to lots of water for their licensed nuclear reactor. They have all the permits, but do not have it in backpack form. Having watched a lot of Nova recently, they could be doing any number of experiments, including Bos-Ein condensate/absolute zero experiments.
Guest Speaker Bill Murray
Bwahahahaha!
Yes?
I… don’t know why, but besides feeling sorry for Billie, I keep finding myself thinking “Wow. DoA!Sal is some sort of weird, heinous bongo.” Was that the angle you were aiming for on her this time, Mr. Willis?
Feels more to me like she just wants to avoid people whenever possible
Must the two be mutually exclusive? =D
Hah! I think you should have left the Z off and left everyone guessing. 😀
I sort of hope Sal puts Ruth in her place. That would amp her coolness even higher.
…except Ruth would probably retaliate on Billie…
Here, I fixed that for you. 😛 http://unconventional.trhonline.com/doa-fixed.png
But then Sal’s last comment indicates she’s no idea she killed Billie.
No, that’s what we call a “lie”. She’ll be so “shocked” when she finds out her roommate has been murdered in her sleep, I wager.
Read http://www.dumbingofage.com/2011/comic/book-1/03-men-are-from-beck-women-are-from-clark/vigil/ and then my version.
If it doesn’t look like Sal killed her and is playing innocent… well… 😛
the outside wall climbing act reminded me of a senior at this boarding Academy he most days wall climbed in and out of second story windows on the backside of the dorm and other buildings. Tough as it was there was still metal strips sticking out of the block work that he would just climb around on.
*raised brow* And how was it he never got ticketed/arrested by campus security for breaking and entering?
Love Sal. More Sal please! 😛
It’s really weird being able to recognize all of the scenery in these comics.
it’s a bunch of me just saying “I KNOW THAT BRIDGE! I KNOW THOSE DOORS!”
I might be slightly insane.
Please don’t judge me.
