Except that Willis would totally know we’re thinking that, and have him stick through it for some reason like a bet or a personal challenge or genuine feelings sneaking up on him…
…except that now that I’ve guessed it he can’t do that. Success!
I’m thinking she’ll drive Joe INSANE because she won’t put out EVER for him. And that’s how his first semester of College will be ruined. Because he NEVER gets laid.
You roll your eyes now, but Joyce will show you what’s what when she’s got a ring on her finger come next week. Or maybe she’ll just be crying. ONLY TIME WILL TELL.
Your theory could still work. Joe and Joyce start talking, leaving Sarah and Danny to just stand there awkwardly. They avoid eye contact, look around, shuffle their feet. He scratches the back of his neck.
She clears her throat. “We were on our way to lunch,” she says. “Oh that sounds good,” he says. “I was thinking about a ham sandwich.” “I was thinking some soup and salad, but we don’t have trays anymore.” “No trays?” and then they wander away.
Oh interesting! Joyce x Joe instead of Joyce x Danny o:
D: oh dear, A shorter and simpler version of this is in “Its Walky!” right before Walky confessed his feelings for Joyce (at least I think thats about the right timeline? Walky x Dina, Joyce x Joe, Walky confession, Walky x Joyce?)…so…this universe will have…the long, complicated panned out version? Or will Joe pass her on to Danny?
Speaking of Danny, He better at least crack a smile if/when Joe introduces them, because if not he’s gonna blow his chances with the both of them! (Though, that may be his objective?)
No, it’s kind of completely different. The It’s Walky! JxJ was more about Joyce and Joe growing up in their own ways, Joyce realized that she has a sexuality, and Joe seeing the appeal of an emotional relationship. This JoycexJoe is just going to be Joyce picks a different wrong target for her affections, which leaves JoycexDanny more open for a serious future.
Aaaaah, ok. Yeah, that DOES make sense when I stop and think about it…
I’m torn now.
s: On the one hand: I don’t want SAL x Danny, so if he ends up with Joyce, at least he didn’t end up with Sal, causing this NOT to be the universe Bobby “Machete” Walkerton and his cousin came from…
On the other: I want Joyce to end up with Walky in the end because they are a freakin’ awesome couple.
I think Sal just lusted after him…I mean, she LEFT DANNY because she was afraid if she showed Danny her TRUE SELF…he wouldn’t love her…s: Thats…thats not love…at least, not in my book.
Hmmm, its an interesting notion, Amber x Danny…Its got SOME potential (mind you, Mr. WIllis WILL be chased by an angry mob if Mike does not at least end up with Dina if Amber is out of the picture), but in a “any port in a storm” (as someone in an earlier comic said earlier brilliantly) type of way…If its not rebound, its because Joe forced him to chose between her or Joyce (I love Joyce to death, but, her flaw is that she is overly clingy far too quickly with alarmingly high expectations for a burgeoning relationship)
That would be my expectation, too. However, Joe may have just implanted his image over Joyce’s ideal man, making him the unwitting target of Mrs Joyce X.
Yep. He would do that. I bet he’s following Joyce around, looking for the perfect way to burst her bubble. She seems unfazed by his Twitter assaults, after all.
…what have I told you people about using “this” in response to comments. Either you didn’t see that thread, or you are channeling mike and are just trying to piss me off.
I wonder who would suffer more if Joyce and Joe started dating. Joyce because Joe would constantly bug her for pre-marital sex, or Joe because Joyce will NEVER put out for him.
Maybe with other girls, but I don’t think Joyce would be as easy as one would think to manipulate. She spent her entire life whole-heartedly believing that sex is something only married people do. She also is so naive that I think she would completely miss his attempts at manipulate and assume he’s trying to do something else. Joe is swave, but somehow I don’t see him being able to pull that off with her.
Naivete tends to make it easier. It’s one more reason people who tend to shelter their daughters are reluctant to send them to college. There are those who say, “College changes people,” as if this was a bad thing.
As for lifetime beliefs, it’s amazing how poorly purity ring programs work out in high schools. Even anti-smoking campaigns managed by tobacco companies might envy such results.
I don’t think that’s quite true or fair. There are people who are naive about how other people behave. But if they have their beliefs and they hold true to them, despite what other people try and make them do, they can still retain their innocents and still hold true to themselves.
Joe can try to corrupt Joyce, but just because she’s naive doesn’t make her an easy target. Joyce will change as a character, but in the end it could be on her own terms, not on Joe’s attempts to get into her pants.
Naivete relies on ignorance. Virtue does not. Better informed people are more likely to be constant and consistent in their beliefs, even if new information and ideas may cause them to evolve over time.
But Joyce is both virtuous and naive. She’s very adamant on her religious believes, which she believe to be the only truth and fact. You’re underestimating Joyce and moral strength.
For some reason, I’m imagining that this would come out in a scene featuring Joyce showing up in his room in the middle of the night in full dominatrix gear. She’d also be carrying all the fixings for a banana split, with the exception of the featured fruit.
That seems a lot less likely than Joe being all talk, however. The only thing more bizaare would be him winding up engaged to Joyce within the fortnight, followed by them chastely waiting until the end of college to wed.
Re: “Joyce showing up in his room in the middle of the night in full dominatrix gear.”
That’s Joyce channeling pre-reform Alisyn from Fans with Joe as Rick. It’s not as mind-boggling as it seems especially with the crossover in the Walkyverse. However, that would be Bizzaroverse continuity, so it’s unlikely.
@Zuche. Thanks for the tip on Epicurus the Sage. It’s in my Amazon wish list now and I’ll buy it later, when the budget allows. (Here’s hoping for Christmas money!)
Speaking as a descendant of Jews with the very English last name of Sherman, and Christians with multiple very Jewish last names, I refuse to go by last names when it comes to Jewishness. Basically, unless I see him putting meat and cheese on a different plate, or wearing a yarmulke, or just plain saying he’s Jewish, I’m not going to believe it.
Meow? … An aunt of mine has a cat called Socks. This is either a wierd coincidence, OR THE FELINES HAVE GAINED SENTIENCE. PREPARE YOURSELVES FOR THE KITTEN UPRISING.
Hmmm, appears I was wrong, what a surprise. Anyway, I don’t think this is going to go anywhere, although I see some misunderstandings developing, and those are always funny.
I think it would be an interesting plot line to see Joe and Joyce try to work it out. Or at least,
Most interesting would be the fantasy plot line that the reason why Billie and Sal “made tracks” after that one class was to have wild, passionate, monkey sex with each other. Ok, most likely not to happen…but would make for some good fanfic!
JOYCEJOE WOO
C’mon Danny, get some Sarah
EAT IT SARAH
I don’t think she’s gay.
Dude. Walkyverse. EVERYONE is gay unless stated to be otherwise.
Or maybe she’s not NOT gay!
But this isn’t the Walkyverse. Its the DoA-verse. Besides in the Walkyverse, I thought it was only the Shortpacked corner that everyone is gay.
She wasn’t gay in Roomies! (she and Joe had a quasi-relationship), I doubt she’s gay here.
Although, more gay characters wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing (I mean, there’s already Ethan and Leslie).
But if she were gay, that would be okay.
No it’s not! -insert boring biblical rant about gays and god and all that shit blahblahblahblahblahblahblahblah you get the point-
I think I’d have preferred some more Avenue Q. 😉
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cL7kcFdGGPM
But does Joyce has a boyfriend in Canada? That’s the real question.
By the end of the week Joyce will have scared Joe away
…I tried to find a like button for this. Well.
It’s true, though! XD
Could there be any other outcome?
Except that Willis would totally know we’re thinking that, and have him stick through it for some reason like a bet or a personal challenge or genuine feelings sneaking up on him…
…except that now that I’ve guessed it he can’t do that. Success!
Except! Now that you have guessed it, and proclaimed he can’t? Challenge is back on!
Either Joyce will warm to pre-marital hanky-panky, or Joe will discover that her roommate is more interesting…and now dating Danny.
And Joyce’s expression in that last panel is adorable!
I’m thinking she’ll drive Joe INSANE because she won’t put out EVER for him. And that’s how his first semester of College will be ruined. Because he NEVER gets laid.
It’s been two days. Joe’s probably been laid already…
Joyce will probably think she can change Joe and turn him into her perfect man. It won’t work.
I called it.
It was kinda obvious.
Yeah, there are only two sides on that coin.
You roll your eyes now, but Joyce will show you what’s what when she’s got a ring on her finger come next week. Or maybe she’ll just be crying. ONLY TIME WILL TELL.
…son of a bongo. So that’s how he does it! I don’t think I’ve ever seen Joe do “charming” before…
How do you think he had such a high score in It’s Walky!?
Come to think of it, I only remember actually SEEING Joe being charming during the Fans crossover, or at least the grin that went on forever…
Does anyone else feel like we’re missing a panel or two? And no, I’m not just asking that because my theory was wrong.
Actually, my theory was that they don’t even meet at all, like Danny and Joe are in a completely different building than Joyce and Sarah.
Oh sorry, I probably shouldn’t go by icons in this community.
Tall guys go for short chicks. That’s why I tend to emphasize how small I am when I’m around cute guys. Joyce, it works for you! Use it! Rope him in!
True. It’s just…weird flirting with a girl my height or taller. I know it shouldn’t be but…it just is.
Why can’t I give all three of my votes to Dina?
I don’t think she needs them!
I’d like to see some more Ninja Rick, please.
seconded…
Either that or Galasso
considering your icons…
ass kisser.

SalxDanny I’m not a fan of either…
What are your thoughts on AmberxDanny?
I think Sal just lusted after him…I mean, she LEFT DANNY because she was afraid if she showed Danny her TRUE SELF…he wouldn’t love her…s: Thats…thats not love…at least, not in my book.

As long as she still screams out, “The chair!” at some point, I shall be content.
Huh. I don’t know why everyone thinks Joe is snatching Joyce. He could just as easily be softening her up to dump on Danny. =3
“Eh, maybe we just need to find some other romantically-codependent doofus to latch on to.”
*”Eh, maybe we just need to find HIM some other romantically-codependent doofus to latch on to.”
I can’t type and we need an edit feature.
That would be my expectation, too. However, Joe may have just implanted his image over Joyce’s ideal man, making him the unwitting target of Mrs Joyce X.
Well it’s clear that’s Joe’s intention, it’s just that Joyce is going to fall for Joe and not care about Danny.
Joe, you silver tounged devil, you. (insert lady swoon)
annd I got Mike. Ten times better.
agreed
mike talking to himself? 😛
Hey, this is a private conversation.
YES JOYCE/JOE. Always my sekrit OTP >.>
I’m so glad I’m not alone :’D
I try Sara’s line on myself every other day, but it never works. 🙁
And just off-panel, above them, a pile of excrement is falling from a bucket, about to plop all over them.
The bucket is held by Mike, of course.
… yes this is the first thing I thought of, shut up.
Yep. He would do that. I bet he’s following Joyce around, looking for the perfect way to burst her bubble. She seems unfazed by his Twitter assaults, after all.
Is it just me, or is Danny channeling Mike right now?
THIS!
…what have I told you people about using “this” in response to comments. Either you didn’t see that thread, or you are channeling mike and are just trying to piss me off.
This seems likely.
…That.
Its not just you. I was about to say the exact same thing.
lol, totally
ironically i dont see him being with any women this time, whereas i see Mike actually having relationships (with Ruth this time)
This concept gives me both the chills and a boner.
and mike if i’m right, lol
I do not see this ending well. But I do see it playing out hilariously.
Sarah gots her a functionin’ bullshit detector.
Damn Danny is pretty sexy when he werks the mike eyes.
I wonder who would suffer more if Joyce and Joe started dating. Joyce because Joe would constantly bug her for pre-marital sex, or Joe because Joyce will NEVER put out for him.
s: Iono…I think JOYCE because she would never put out and Joe would find someone who WOULD…while they’re still together…
I doubt he has to bug a person so much as ease her into believing that his goal was totally her idea when it happens. It’s an aspect of charm.
Maybe with other girls, but I don’t think Joyce would be as easy as one would think to manipulate. She spent her entire life whole-heartedly believing that sex is something only married people do. I just thought how awesome it would be if in this universe Joe was actually all talk 😉

Poor Hero. 🙁
Predictable or no, I’m looking forward to seeing how this plays out. In pain.
Um, Joyce? That man is JEWISH.
(And a man-slut. But, JEWISH.)
I could see her justifying it by saying “well close enough!”, or setting out to convert him.
Hoo boy.
How do we know he’s Jewish?
His last name is Rosenthal and you’re wondering how we know he’s Jewish?
Incidentally, is Joe in anyway related to the guy who took the “Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima” photo?
Speaking as a descendant of Jews with the very English last name of Sherman, and Christians with multiple very Jewish last names, I refuse to go by last names when it comes to Jewishness. Basically, unless I see him putting meat and cheese on a different plate, or wearing a yarmulke, or just plain saying he’s Jewish, I’m not going to believe it.
i gotta say, i’ve always been a joexjoyce fan (:
i mean i love joycexwalky too but something about joexjoyce makes it so adorable xD
I AM JOYCE! HEAR ME MEOW! 😀
Meow? … An aunt of mine has a cat called Socks. This is either a wierd coincidence, OR THE FELINES HAVE GAINED SENTIENCE. PREPARE YOURSELVES FOR THE KITTEN UPRISING.
XD yes, i am secretly a cat, i’m the cat that joyce wants to love her but won’t XD
I bow before our new feline overlords.
on this site for a day & i’m already a kitty overlord? sweet X3
what would we call them? joece?
hmmm that’s quite true~
we could double their name kinda! jojoyce! 😀 or just randomly throw the e joeyce and thats as far my creativity will take me xD
Joy-c-joe. Gives it a bit of a square dance vibe.
haha! there ya go! i actually like that XD
It’s amazing how a couple of commas can change a stop entirely. Observe:
“Two chicks, dead, ahead. Let me do the talking and follow my lead.”
Oh Joe, you murderous fugitive.
Joe is either a murderous fugitive, or he has realized that this is really a webcomic about female zombies. College of the Dead anyone? 😀
and by “stop,” I mean “strip”
“Hey, mister, I don’t take my clothes off for anybody, even if it is artistic!”
Hmmm, appears I was wrong, what a surprise. Anyway, I don’t think this is going to go anywhere, although I see some misunderstandings developing, and those are always funny.
Called it, sort of.
JOEYCE!
So… am I the only one intrigued by Joyce’s rather long tongue?
I think it would be an interesting plot line to see Joe and Joyce try to work it out. Or at least,
Most interesting would be the fantasy plot line that the reason why Billie and Sal “made tracks” after that one class was to have wild, passionate, monkey sex with each other. Ok, most likely not to happen…but would make for some good fanfic!
That line is so endearingly corny.
